Since Toonami is airing Super, I think that Super will air on U.K. TV using FUNi's backup censored dub. Or will Super even air there at all?

No, it won't. Jerome Mazandarani, head of MangaUK, confirmed back in October during a brand licensing event that Super got turned down by every major TV channel in the UK because it was seen as "too violent" and "not the kind of show they were looking for". Which is total horseshit, but, there you go.

I have no idea why Turner are refusing it for the UK. There are laws here, that state all children's networks have to air programming that is suitable for kids of whatever age, regardless of time of day.
That being said, the cut version currently airing in Israel and Portugal would be fine.
Boing, (Spain's version of Cartoon Network) who air exactly the same content as Cartoon Network UK (for the most part at least) are airing Super.
The exact same people responsible for Spain are also responsible for UK, so they feel that it isn't appropriate for UK.
A very sad situation, and it isn't likely to change anytime soon, unless Toei Europe allow the show to go on a later time slot on an entertainment channel.

If we do see it (and I highly doubt it) it may not be until the Summer, so they can air a handful of episodes weekdays after school. They would have to be behind Toonami USA, as I'm sure they will likely air repeats during the week, with new episodes airing weekends or something.

When Kai aired on Kix a year or two back, the figures were good, especially during its original run, and it reached number one with 39'000 viewers for the week ending 25/8/13.
And at that time, Kix was heavily reliant on Power Rangers (which now mostly airs on Pop).
Sky Cinema aired both movies recently, and they seem to have done well. Shame.

CN UK refused to premiere their new Justice League Action show from WB animation at a reasonable time... They aired it 7am on a Saturday... /; Terrific slot for a premiere right? Rejecting Super is honestly not a surprise to me in light of that.

Shocking to see such a renowned franchise unable to get into the UK market. There's no question that it would have success if marketed correctly, but passing on it entirely is just sad. Hopefully minds change in 2017 and a way can be found to bring it over.

That is just madness. 7am for a brand new show.... these are sad times for UK kids networks.
I just checked the US listings, and Justice League Action airs there at 7:30 on Saturday mornings, though at least they aired the premiere at 6pm.
Keep Dragon Ball off Turner.

Man, first Canadian TV networks reject the Ocean dub of Kai, and now the UK won't allow Super? Oh TV, how thou hast gone downhill....
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

I may be amusingly inspired to write a Shakespeare-esque play about the struggles of producers and license holders to get Dragon Ball dubs on TV after reading this  .
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

The only way UK fans will see Super on TV is if Toei Europe forget about getting it exclusively on a kids network.

Follow the US's lead, and go for an entertainment channel, with a later timeslot.
8pm is fine on a weekend, kids can still watch it, provided it is marketed well - toylines and other merchandise aimed at kids are the key really.

It is looking as though UK fans are going to be forced to wait it out for home video, so archaic.

May seem a little off topic but the website Toonami Faithful did an excellent article on Super getting a prime-time slot on Toonami.

That was a great article, thank you very much for sharing it.
It is a shame the UK Adult Swim isn't as good, it starts at 23:00, and 00:00.

Clifford Chaplin plays Cabba, well for XV2 but I'm pretty sure they'll cast him for Super too. Perfect casting in my opinion!

Greg Ayers is Frost in XV2 too. Hmm not sure about that one. Actually I think it works with Frost's good guy innocent cover up thing he had going on.

Without knowing too much about the character, I can't give an informed opinion, but I do appreciate the real-life aspect of the casting in that they cast the younger brother of Chris Ayres in that role, and that he has a relatively similar voice (albeit higher-pitched).

Well, its not Greg would not be familiar with a role like this. Remember, he also voices Guldo.

The UK constantly censers violence and romance in cartoons. Apparently, even in this enlightened age were single-sex couples can marry, kids apparently can't handle the concept in cartoons like Steven Universe or Adventure Time.

A show like Super not making the cut is no surprising, despite how toned down it is from Z.

Edit: It would also seem like the UK's trying to go threw a new era of forced censorship and prohibition, which is really funny. We had this kind of bs years ago back in the 80's and it failed hard then and in this day and age its going to fail even harder.

I like Frost's English Voice. For me it makes Frost feel, at least, a little more like his own character instead of just being a slightly different Freeza. Also Iike the idea of him being voiced by Greg. That's pretty funny. But I guess We'll see how it plays out in the actual show.

That makes so much sense, that'd be phenomenal. He also doesn't speak as eleoquently as Freeza.
