Well, it can't be more than four or five, because Bra was born in Age 778/780 (she has 2 different birthdates in the Daizenshuu) and Pan was born in 779.

I think there's a little too much (dare I even say pedantic) splitting hairs going on over the definition of "several" and "transformation". I don't know that either particularly matter when it's perfectly clear what folks are referring to with both, and especially given the, "Hey... it's... uhh... between these two chapters!" official timeframe.

I certainly don't mind conversation over it, but I'm reading what amounts to "Nuh uh!" / "Yeah huh!" back-and-forths which don't really further an actual conversation.

Apparently, the new villain is the most powerful in the history of the saga. It can be far more powerful than any version of Majin Buu (including Buu-Gotenks and Buu-Gohan). From the beginning, I think there are 3 ways that the z-team defeat the villain in the end.

1 - The Team Z takes a massive beating. Goku is the only one standing, the Z-team gives him their energy (like in the movie 8, Brolly).

2 - Genki-Dama (appears at the end of the Manga, Z-Series and a lot of movies).

3 - A new super saiyan transformation or maybe a super saiyan 3 full power.

Or maybe the villain gives up the fight, and the Z-team is happy forever. But a little anti-climax for the Dragon Ball saga.

I would love a gang attack, like how they attacked Vegeta in the saiyan arc. As soon as one gets knocked out another quickly takes his place. Should be easy with all the fighters they have now..

I know I've mentioned it in passing at some point in this thread, but I'm actually beginning to think it might be possible that my far-fetched, dark-horse theory of a new special power-up for Goku could be possible (Not that I really have much to go on with it.) I mean, there was fake ssj form in movie 4...I dunno. It's a really off-chance thing but I'm kind of starting to root for it now. Also, from a merchandising perspective, it'd be something new they could sell as toys.

I think that ultimately, Birusu's defeat will come down to the Kamehameha that we saw in the trailer, but initially there will be some complicated business that involves killing the God of Creation (Uisu?) which will throw the universe off balance, or something that results in Birusu being weakened enough for Goku to triumph over him.

Toriyama probably didn't finalize what he wanted for the transformation until he drew the chapter. The movie would have been in production for more than three months, so it's unlikely Toriyama designed the form then.

Pretty sure the whole "Super Saiyan in DBZ Movie 4" thing was just a marketing tactic.

How else were they gonna sell tickets to something with a blatantly recycled plot? They needed something to center their marketing campaign around, and I think a Namekian wishing for his youth isn't something that would have kids queuing down the street. That 2 minute scene pretty much sold the movie for them.

Sounds like they're saying Gohan's still the strongest as clearly as they can without naming character names, as there's really only Goku and Vegeta (and Table) left.

Yes, Japanese has several ways and words to count different things. It makes my mind implode. Maybe Herms can gives us some insight in the word that was used on that text.

The phrase they keep using is 数年/suunen. Goo.net says this can mean between 2 to 6 years or so, so going by that it could still potentially be around the same time as the JSAT special.

Is there anything official saying Tenshinhan isn't an earthling? I thought a video game mentioned it or something, and there's always that Ozotto theory xD

Maybe they're just assuming that we're assuming Ten isn't an earthling because of his third eye? It's not like they've ever shown anything that would indicate that Kuririn is stronger than him.

Tenshinhan would still be an Earthling even if he has Alien ancestors.

But then again, so would the Saiyamen, logically.
