I'm actually a little surprised we haven't gotten more video clips or anything...

Same here. I managed to get Borders to cancel my pre-order and switched back to RightStuf just a little bit ago. :D

I'm still iffy about if I want to buy this or not. I already own this series but not in the proper aspect ratio. Then again I don't know if that footage on the top and the bottom is worth shelling tons of money to rebuy 291 episodes over again. The colors look nice but with the exception of season 2 the orange bricks colors never are super annoying without a side by side comparison to my eyes. The sound quality is like the only thing that's kind of pushing me to go get this and from what I've heard it's not all that huge of a difference really.

Screw it, then. Just buy Dragon Box 2 and be done with it. You'll have an acceptable level of everything else for your viewing pleasure and a replacement for that crapfest that is Season 2.

I'm getting restless. I'd like to dissect my Dragon Box and watch it with someone's DVD player on the beach while drinking fruit punch filled in pineapple. :D

I'm mainly getting these to replace Seasons 1 & 2. However, the completist in me is going to make end up getting the rest of the Dragon Boxes as well.

So I guess rightstuf is shipping these fairly quickly even for people who just ordered within the last two days?

So I'm having a hell of a time tying to cap some video for this thread. Any DVD keeps freezing up on me, DVD Decrypter and Shrink don't break the CSS, Plato is just pure shit and always stretches the final, recorded image to 16:9, and Handbrake is just being dumb and not accessing the source either.

Anyhow, since I'm having such a tough time with that, here are some more screen grabs. Now, these haven't been altered by godofchaos to be real, actual true-to-product screen caps, but hopefully they'll give you an idea of how it looks. Remember, these screens can only get better with proper screen capping.

EDIT: Images have been snipped as they now appear on page one of the thread. Don't want to waste all of the forum's bandwidth so early in the month.

Enjoy.

EDIT: According to working in Photoshop, these images are now 640x480. Hope this is a bit of a better job. Sorry everyone.

You pay for crap, you get crap. UPS 2nd Day Air was totally worth the $10 I would have saved during RightStuf's August sale.

Haseowolf, if you want to take really good screencaps, you should view it in Media Player Classic and do print screen screencaps (and make sure you save them all as png's) and it should display the image properly. Unlike most media players, MPC shows the colors as they appear in snapshots, whereas VLC and Windows Media Player will show colors with higher saturation when viewing something.

Heh, that's actually what I'm doing. All I know is that my video drivers are a little out of date and how I have my settings isn't quite getting everything correct. Don't worry, I'm working on getting these up to snuff.

So MPC usually shows stuff in their incorrect resolution when it's playing a file/dvd for you? Yeah, I'd say it's probably your computer. When I take snapshots in MPC, it shows them in 720X480, but it actually displays it in 640x480, so I just go ahead and press Print Screen

Actually, I've been using the Capture Image feature in MPC. Print Screen is just giving me trash.

Has there been a statement that there will be at least 40 episodes in each box? 40 times 7 is 280, and with 291 episodes, it would make sense the last one would have ~50 episodes?

These look nice, but I'm really only itching for the Buu arc, which would supposedly stretch over the last two sets, if these follow any sort of pattern at all. It would certainly suck to have a couple of the first Buu episodes tacked on to the end of the Cell Games. This first box ends smack dab in the middle of... Fake Namek stuff?

EDIT: Sabat!Vegeta says "each DRAGONBOX contains over 40 episodes" but... that was that trailer, so I don't know how much stock I can take in that.

Hmmm...that's odd. When I do Print screen, the quality of the images look exactly the same. Case in point (this is from an old VOB file someone posted here in 2007):

MPC Snapshot:

Print Screen:

Just in case, make sure you're NOT viewing it in full screen. Just take a print screencap and then edit out all of the other stuff and use a MPC Snapshot as a reference.

Well, there's supposed to be 7 in all. That's roughly 42 episodes per box. The trailer says that each Dragonbox has over 40 episodes.

Whenever I do print screen, all it saves is black if I took it with MPC in fullscreen mode 0.0 Tell me I'm not being this big of an idiot...
