尾 for "bi" is more interesting ('cuz he's got a tail), but probably still a coincidence.

州 is one of many kanji that can be read as "su". It doesn't seem particularly relevant.

I've got "留" - to fasten down, hold in place, and "瑠" - light blue.

I'll be honest, I don't think this is a very fruitful line of inquiry. In fact, you're more likely to find seemingly significant but meaningless coincidences, because there are so many different potential kanji for each syllable.

Understood. One of the bigger reasons why I even decided to attempt the name-pun-puzzle (aside from learning I've got at least 2 more weeks to go before another plot-update via VJump) was I thought looking stuff up would be a fun challenge and alternative to what I want to do atm (continue working on a story) since I'm super-tired from everything today. I guess the real answer is that I should just try to get some sleep.
At least I had that brief "Eureka!" feeling for a moment there, that was nice. :3

He's fighting gods; you've gotta go Madoka-tier for that sort of thing. :3 Even if the power-up is only temporary (and possibly dangerous to the user?)
A Vegeta win would be awesome, but the chances are small. I'm hoping he plays a big part in getting that win though, even if he can't claim sole victory.

On the matter of dubs mentioned earlier, if Funimation does dub Battle of Gods, who do you want to voice Bils? Any Funi actor in particular? I'm having a hard time nailing exactly what voice I want for Bils (though, I am tempted to say, deep, serious, kinda what you'd expect from a god *insert King Kai Dub joke here*).

About what would be hoped to see with Goku confronting Birusu the final time: I'd say if (big if) Toei wanted to go a little deeper, we'd have some conflict about how Goku's selfish desire for strong and challenging opponents to fight has this time ended up threatening the existence of his family/friends/homeplanet. If he's truly the one who started it (and not Birusu) then it's possible Goku might have to struggle through some character development when he sees what a huge mess he's indirectly caused.

I can't oppose the idea entirely, and I know the first movie back is probably going to have Goku win, but come on Toei, Toriyama, use your imagination...Let Yamucha win. He's needed a win for so many years. I'm pretty sure I wasn't even alive the last time Yamucha got to matter, and I was born in the 80s, lol.

Would anyone else just really love it if Yamucha won? With Goku congratulating him, and Vegeta's jaw embedded into the ground in pride shattering shock?

Goku not seeing everyone for years since it took that long for them to forgive him? That's actually an interesting concept with a lot of emotion behind it...Somehow, I picture Toriyama not going that route though.

As for Yamucha stealing his weapon...that's actually not half bad an idea to call back to his bandit routes (insert "Toriyama barely remembers Yamucha as is, much less that he was a bandit" here).

If this movie does get a rating from the MPPA then what rating do you think it will get? I think PG is likely, I don't think it will be darker or more violent then any of the DBZ movies. Not to mention PG-13 animated movies are very rare in the US.

It depends. Since Toei sort-of has been marketing this for a international release we might see reduced violence for a PG rating. I'd hope not, but hope only goes so far.

Fusion Reborn was PG and I don't think Funi edit anything down for a PG rating. I don't think any of the DBZ movies are violent enough to get a PG-13 rating expect for Movie 9 maybe.

Got one reply back. This movie probably won't get released in theaters in the US and will be a straight to DVD. No word on if FUNimation or FOX hired someone else to dub this yet.

Not surprise given there has not been a big market for DBZ in years. I don't care if it goes direct to video, as long I can watch it and have it in my collection then that's what I care about.

I saw on Sean Schemmels twitter from 15 weeks ago that he doesn't have any high hopes for Funi to dub this movie. He said if the budget is to high Fox will probably hire a cast for it. But he said that he has no idea what's happening with it.
