Bulma is probably the most useful female in anime history (at least until the Boo arc). She's a perfect example to prove that not being strong =/= irrelevant. I'm a girl and I don't care that much about having strong female characters. In every shonen anime I've seen they are either useless or ridiculously strong Mary Sues, the latter being a much more annoying stereotype.

I completely agree! Especially the bit about Mary Sues. It's why I kind of cringe when people ask for Bra to be some super strong SSJ. She can be strong enough to hold her own, but I'd much prefer her to take after her mother and be a prodigy in the field of engineering.

I'd love for Bra to both immensely intellectual in the field of science and engineering like her mother and also a great fighter. Not Goku level or Vegeta level of fighting prowess, but someone who can hold her own. Unfortunately, for most western fans of Dragon ball, it's the characters who scream the loudest and hit the hardest that are loved the most.

It seems the speculation that time-jumping will occur is true. There isn't really any way I can imagine to link the time just after Buu to Revival of "F" without time-jumps. This pleases me.

Since we have conflicting translations on whether or not Videl is Goten's future or current sister-in-law I do wonder if it does start before BoG how are they going to time jump to post BoG? I mean when they jump over RF they don't really need to cover that story since nothing important really happens, I mean Goku and Vegeta already achieved SSGSS before that movie, but with BoG it is really the start of the entire God plot and they can't just skip over it completely. Going from pre-BoG one episode to the next starting with a short 1 minute recap of BoG would feel a little weird, so I'm not entirely sure what they can do if it starts right before BoG, I'm definitely interested to see how they handle it if it does start pre-BoG.

I know. And that's what I loved about him so much. He is pretty much an amalgamation of how much Toriyama loves to defies tropes commonly associated with Dragon Ball and the shonen genre. He doesn't scream a lot, he doesn't have any transformations, he doesn't have an overly muscular build, he rarely powers up and he's not evil for the hell of it. Beerus such a shot in the arm as far as antagonists go, it's unbelievable. He's the best thing to happen in Dragon Ball in God knows how many years.

I'm no good with kanji, but if I read this right,Gokû tries to utilize Mr. Satan to get money so he won't have to farm vegetables anymore.
EDIT: No wait, I think Mr. Satan actually shows up to give Gokû money that he (Mr. Satan) was awarded for saving the world from Buu.

The fact that they are already advertising Beerus and "Fat Beerus" tells me they are planning to get past BoG really quick.

I just wanna get past the immediately-post-Buu stuff real quick. Now that BOG and F exist, I've lost most of my interest in immediately-post-Buu; that era's existed since the manga ended; BOG and F have only been around a couple years and are way more fresh.

Like, when we were all still BOG-speculating, I really wanted to see Gohan and Videl's wedding; now I just don't care. I want to see those other universes and alternate!Beerus and alternate!Whis.

The only thing I can think of is they're trying to calm-before-the-storm/familiarize people with the characters' quirks who are new to watching Dragon Ball?
But that feels like starting out with filler. You can't start out with filler and expect to retain a big audience. I cared about the farming stuff back in 2009 when it was fresh; it's 6 years later I don't care about that now. I'd half-expect Funi to pull a GT and "lost episodes" this arc if that was the sort of thing they still did.

As long as it's entertaining filler it won't be that bad, I guess. The cute scarf is still cute, so there's that at least.
