Very interesting, maybe a simultaneous release worldwide? That would be truly awesome.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I think Goku and Bejita both loose the SSJ ability because they are not used to the Godly ki and need to start all over again. That's Toriyama way of rebooting the transformations. I think SSj1 will return over time; SSJ2 and SSJ3 are history.Low Tone G wrote:I was under the impression that both Gohan and Goku can transform into SSj, but those forms are useless for both of them. I saw the absorption of Goku like the ritual of Old Kai, with the difference that Goku performed that alone, without any help.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:What the hell with the alternative universes & DB wishes theories about SS Goku? It is stated in BoG, and even directly by Toriyama, that Goku doesn't need to transform anymore, because all of his Super Saiyan forms no longer increase his strength... Goku has absorbed the power of Super Saiyan God in his base.
Gohan, on the other hand, doesn't have his Super Saiyan forms useless like Goku. He can either transform into Super Saiyan (and beyond), or he can power-up to Ultimate (as it was shown in BoG). For some reason, Gohan turns into a Super Saiyan in the trailer (and let's not forger the SS Gohan scene in the 1st BoG trailer that was different in the movie, so it could be the same ), because apparently he decides that he doesn't need Ultimate in that situation, and SS is all he needs. As for his eyes not being fully outlined, it's most likely just a design error, since Gohan's eyes are fully outlined in the 28th TB arc in the manga.

The poster just depicts Freeza holding a fan that has "immortality" written on it. It's obviously a reference to his desire for immortality, as seen in the main series, but it's probably got nothing to do with whether or not he'll try and gain immortality in the new movie. So yeah, basically just a promo image.Hellspawn28 wrote:The poster we saw Freeza and the Ginyu force says he wish for immortality. Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Wow, we had this translation right under our noses and with the recent info, that Goku won't even transform to SSJ in upcoming movie, this makes a lot of sense!
Will Goku be able to transform into [Super Saiyan] God in the future?
I think you’ll understand if you watch [the movie], but Goku has already absorbed [Super Saiyan] God’s power and made it his own, so there is no need for him to transform into [Super Saiyan] God. Goku basically only thinks of fighting as a sporting match, so borrowing the power of five people isn’t fair, and he resisted doing that; however, it seems his curiosity towards the realm that lay even further beyond him won out.
What was your concept for [Super Saiyan] God’s appearance?
I was resistant to [the idea of] Goku getting more and more macho, or having a flashy transformation, so I wanted to make a course-correction. Except, visually-speaking, a Goku who doesn’t have any change at all would be difficult to understand, so I changed just his hair color and his eyes.

"Course-correction" is an interesting choice of words.
It also makes Dragon Ball Heroes look even stranger up against Toriyama's recent writings.
Re: ssjg form
Well, "no need" doesn't mean "can't". If he doesn't, I will be sad/disappointed, and it will make that magenta lightning behind him an incredible trolling, but there'd be no more I could do about it than those who will be disappointed at no ssj1/2/3 can about those forms not being there either.

I will bet my shoes that Goku will be much stronger than before, just in his base form, like Gohan was in later Buu arc, with his unlocked potential.
But I think we can see some pink aura. Vegeta needs some Godly powers supposedly and rest of the Saiyan characters are open for future, tough Gohan is fluffy scholar and Goten and Trunks are fodder for Gotenks.

We have perfectly reasonable explanations as to why he likely won't got SSJ2, 3 and God anymore, I just hope we get an explanation for why he's apparently (at least in this movie) done with SSJ1 as well, preferably before the movie actually comes out, unless it's a core plot point I guess. I'm completely fine with him never going SSJ2, 3 and God ever again, but SSJ1 is just too iconic for them to erase from Goku's skill set.

I don't mind at all, SSJ was awesome in the 90's and still kinda is the series' staple and huge trope, but it is just getting little old.
All we see are Saiyans in their true looks chilling and anytime something flies towards them - being it giant mountain like rock or powerfull enemy - turn on blonde and off we go!
I really adore the idea, not seeing Goku transforming at all.

Re: Aura
His ssjg aura is fire though, the magenta was only his hair. I feel like there's just puzzle-pieces missing that I'll have to wait for VJump issues to fill them in. I can see reducing it down to just a magenta aura, but it'd still make me sad because I like how cute ssjg Gokû looks. If that'll be so, them's the brakes I guess.
Re: Reason for no ssj1
I definitely want an official reason for this though. Toriyama talked about getting rid of 2 and 3, but so far there's no reason to get rid of 1 that was stated. He even jumped into 1 after getting the ssjg power-up so it's not like that negated it.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Regardless of what Toriyama said in the interviews, I feel like Battle of Gods itself already provides an explanation (which could end up being wrong, but seems like the direction they are heading IMO).
Goku dropped out of Super Saiyan God, fought in base form and then even jumped into Super Saiyan all without noticing he was transforming. Beerus is the one who tells him he's no longer a Super Saiyan God, as well as mentioning to us that his ki has barely changed, and he is surprised when he hears it. So much so that Goku has to physically look at himself to confirm it. So apparently his power stayed the same the whole fight (save when he raised his ki himself, using it for attacks, or taking damage), despite swapping through 3 forms, because he didn't notice anything was different. To me, this means that:
1. Once he lost Super Saiyan God, he absorbed all that power and made it his own. Which Beerus told us and Toriyama confirmed.
2. All of said power is available in his base form, as he didn't immediately get his ass kicked by Beerus.
3. Even though he subconsciously went Super Saiyan, his base power didn't get boosted, or else he should have stomped Beerus if he grew significantly stronger.
So, similarly to Gohan it seems, he has access to his Super Saiyan transformations still and can use them if he really wants, but they just don't do anything for him in terms of power since he now has God Ki? Maybe God Ki and transformations designed for regular ki just don't mix? Can't really say anything on the specifics.

Goku only using his base form to fight with now thanks to his god powers can explain why he didn't go SSj against Uub. So I'm fine with it and we will still see Goku going SSj in promos for other media.

If Freeza "somehow" becomes a legitimate threat in this movie and even Goku has a hard time fighting him why not just ask Buu to help?
With Buu's magical regeneration power, absorbing ability and huge power level that should be enough right?
I bet Freeza wouldn't expect his regeneration or ability to absorb him.

I did a quick translation of the Spanish Wikipedia page for the site:Chuquita wrote:Whoa! Simultaneous release!?danielsan_190196 wrote:

Based on that last bit, it seems anyone can add or modify information.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
You and I are literally on the same page and you said everything I was already going to say before I saw your post. Basically Base = SSJ = SSJG. The reason Goku wouldn't go SSJ is because it would be pointless, his power would remain the same, all he would do is be a flash light with blonde hair. That explains why Toriyama ditched SSJ2 and SSJ3 since they would add nothing to Goku, but by the same extension SSJ should also be equally dropped since its identical in power to his base form. This appears to be the route they are taking for RoF as Goku probably figures training SSJ is pointless if its the same power as his base form so might as well train and fight in base only, no need to look flashy anymore. One thing I'm curious about does god ki also cancel out techniques like Kaioken? If so that would be a bummer since after BoGs the triumph return of Kaioken would be gladly welcomed for me.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Regardless of what Toriyama said in the interviews, I feel like Battle of Gods itself already provides an explanation (which could end up being wrong, but seems like the direction they are heading IMO).

So while I've always gone with the idea that Super Saiyan became redundant for Gohan because divine power-up, and thus would not have much issue applying that to Goku should that now be his case, it might also mean we'd get an answer to if a kami-haxed person can become stronger. The more this movie can (entirely inadvertently) clear up on the matter, the better.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Whatever the in-universe explanation ends up being, I think most likely the decision to not have Goku be a Super Saiyan in the movie was mainly to help keep it from feeling too much like a re-hash of the Freeza arc. If the movie boiled down to Super Saiyan Goku versus Freeza, or even Super Saiyan God Goku versus some sort of God Freeza, it would feel like pretty familiar territory. Precisely because Super Saiyan is so strong associated with the franchise, specifically leaving it out of the movie will go a long way towards making it feel like something new. Probably. Hopefully.
(Of course, Goku still fought Freeza a long, long time before finally going Super Saiyan, so regular Goku vs Freeza is really nothing new, but seeing Goku go the whole fight without transforming would be a twist.)
