Because they have no promotional material. This has been one of the most barren lead-ups to a production that I've ever seen.

They're probably scraping the bottom of the barrel just to fill these pages with something.

I'm sure he will use the form at some point, especially if they retell Battle of Gods in some way, but I don't think old design sheets really confirm anything.

I hope for Champa to turn out good. I guess he will be our first main villain in the series follow by two or three more main villains afterwards.

Yeah, Toei's handling of Dragon Ball as a whole has been a mess since Kai.

I want to get excited for this but i really can't.

It's taking place before EoZ, RoF AND BoG, i don't see the point in that to be honest. I also don't see the point in it being called Dragon Ball Super when it takes place in the Z timeline.

What we are basically getting is an extra 100 episodes ( or around 100 episodes ) of Dragon Ball Z. The only difference is that we know how this will end unless Toriyama completely removes the ending of Z. Something i don't think he will do and something i hope he doesn't do.

I can't see it going beyond the end of Z either, this show is all going to take place in the gap between Kid Buu's death and the EoZ.

It's a big disappointment but i'm sure it will still be an enjoyable show, it is still Dragon Ball.

I find it funny that before the trailer was released people couldn't imagine it being before EoZ, and now that we know it's before EoZ, they can't imagine it going past EoZ. It's a weekly, on-going series that's going to have at least 100 episodes, there is plenty of room to cover both time periods.

All the pages are like that. Not really any new information. Super Visual Collection 1 (the page with a big full-body picture of regular, non-SS Goku) introduces him as "continuing to train to reach greater heights after the fierce battle with Majin Boo", which seems to support the idea that Super begins after the battle with Boo rather than after BoG or RoF. Super Visual Collection 3 (the page with Goten, Trunks, Bulma, etc) says that amongst the supporting cast, Gohan, who's holding Videl, should be of particular note...but doesn't explain why. Maybe it's a tease for them getting married and/or Videl's upcoming pregnancy? That's about it for anything interesting.

Yeah I thought the Manga would help clean things up but it did the opposite. I doubt we will get anything else now until the first episode, just two more weeks of speculation to go!

There's a green tint on Goku's body too, but it has nothing to do with a new version of SS3.
Animation staff use these kind of drawings, when determining where the shading is going to fall or something like that. I recall it being discussed, when someone posted an unfinished cel by Uchiyama of Buu Arc Vegeta in that thread discussing a certain flickr user's Collection of db images.

I don't mind this at all, I'm quite happy now if these characters end up being the main ones

Goku's introduced in Visual 1 as "our mightiest battle hero", then Visual 2 introduces Vegeta, Piccolo, and Kuririn as "super-reliable warriors of Earth", while Visual 3 introduces Goten/Trunks/Gohan/Videl/Chi Chi/Bulma/Boo/Satan as the "Dragon Family, tied together by strong bonds". Finally, Visual 4 introduces Beerus/Whis/Champa/? as "gods hiding secrets, and...who!?". The caption says everyone should already be familiar with Beerus and Whis, but then wonders who the characters across from them are. So Champa and ? are presumably the "who!?", making it sound like both Beerus and Whis are "gods hiding secrets" (I guess Whis counts as a god? Seems like different sources imply different things on this).

What I'm wondering is, if they really are going the whole "Redoing the movies in TV" format, are they going to reuse most of the animation from the movies themselves? Because I hope they do considering we aren't going to see anything near the quality from Super and I'd hate to lose Shida's SSJ Goku cut. :/

Many speculate Champa to be Beerus' superior, but what if he actually is Beerus' relative that didn't manage to become God of Destruction, but is still obviously very powerful, and serves as the first villain to bridge the gap between the Buu saga and what we assume will be the twelve universes' saga? Just a thought. I think he is another God of Destruction though. I just hope all of them aren't cats because that's both lazy and doesn't make sense, since Whis asked Goku to be a future God of Destruction, but if there's a race of those, that wouldn't be necessary. Although it is possible they just ignore the movies' story as canon. And also, Toriyama's recent, um, creative shortcomings have been well documented.

That could be it, and maybe he's angry that Whis offered the job of God of Destruction to Goku after Beerus is gone.

Interesting that all the visuals feature 6 Balls except for the last one but it probably means nothing... (Nine-Star Ball replaced the Six-Star Ball and here the one's missing is the Seven-Star Ball so there goes my theory).

I think Champ is likely from another universe. I guess he could arrive to the main universe to find Beerus and Whis, Goku and Beerus must team up to stop him. I doubt he will be killed off since he will likely just retreat back to wherever he came from.
