I'm afraid it will be. Only decent english singing band from Japan, being involved with anime, that I know is Boom Boom Satellites
and the spoken english is quite good, but it's true the lyrics feel quite ''alien''.
But maybe they will surprise. But for me the new Chala is bad to begin with, so my mind is clouded for clear judgement.

Hmm, interesting news about FLOW's single. And the question is indeed if CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA is really getting an english version, or if it's getting an "engrish" version.
Also, looking at the 3rd track, I imagine it's a remix version of this song.

I'm sure it'll be more 'Engrish' than 'English', but it could still be enjoyable. Kageyama's version was pretty good IMO, and this is coming from a guy that overall prefers either the second opening, or anything from DB or GT.

Can't wait to hear that new insert song now that we have a listing for it, though I have to admit, I initially read it and assumed 'HERO' was talking about that ending to movie...6, I believe.

I'd forgotten Kageyama also did an official English version of Head Cha La. I was gonna say that Toei's also done official English versions of the 1st closing theme for Fresh Pretty Cure and the 2nd closing theme for Heartcatch Pretty Cure though neither series has seen a U.S. release.

*Briefly wonders what track 3 is about* Head Cha La dance party mix? But that'd be an awful lot of the same song on one cd, I hope Rising Dragon is its own thing.

My random-probably-won't-happen thought about "Hero ~Song of Hope~" is that it means that Future Trunks shows up, saves the day, and is the remaining mystery-figure. XD

Meanwhile my personal hope of "new, movie-only powerup for Goku" feels slightly more possible with "Hero".

Yeah, that's the song. It seems they decided to remix a song with the word "dragon" in the title, since it was originally released back in April 2004 on their 4th single, and has otherwise only been featured on their "Coupling Collection" compilation album in 2009, from what I can find. DJ Dragon actually made a blog post about it this morning, but he doesn't say much other than it's a work he obsessed about, it's a "super climax of the standard song 'RISING DRAGON'", and it's a "very flashy EDM (electronic dance music) REMIX".

I know he has and I know I've heard it, but I'm unfortunately not the one to ask in regards to which album it came off of. ^^;
There are other people in this thread I feel have more focus in the soundtrack side of DB than I do; someone should know.

It's hard to tell for sure right now, but I'm hoping the animation in this truly is done well. When it comes to modern day DB animation, the only thing that really satisfied me (mostly) was the 2008 Jump special... Plan to Eradicate seemed like it was done pretty well, but something about it bothered me. I don't know if it was detail on characters, backgrounds or what but it didn't look as good to me. Same goes for Bardock. I'm hoping they put a lot of effort into making the animation look really spectacular on this. Think back to how good the last cel-animated movies looked. Movies 12 and 13 are particularly beautiful.

The last two specials were done on the quick and cheap, so of course this movie's going to look better.

I have to ask but how soon after anime films leave theatres do they hit dvd? I'd be curious to know when One Piece Film Z does, since that'd be a good barometer for this film's release.

I assume after it's on dvd that Funimation will try to license it, and maybe put it in theatres.

Has someone ever heard some english in any song from Flow? That would give us a hint about whether they pronounce it well or not.
I know that for a foreigner like me, it is REALLY hard to understand what Kageyama says when he sings in English.

Usually, I can easily understand English songs, but with Kageyama singing English, I don't understand 95% of the sentences!
I hope Flow has a better accent, I don't mind if you can hear it's not their native language, but I would like to be able to understand the lyrics without having to see it all written to say "ah, so that's what they were trying to pronounce!"

Aw, I get such good feelings reading this tweet; I like how it talks about the progress they made with the script, and as Goku and Vegeta are my personal two favorites, I'm excited to see them name-dropped twice in the tweet (makes me hopeful they get some interaction in there). I hope the movie is indeed moving, *wants to have that experience*.

While I'm not blindingly optimistic, I do admit my feelings on this film atm are very positive.

Bring it, BOG. *Hopes for a scene that's, if not Movie 12 level, at least end-of-Buu-arc's "Goku can't bear to throw the genki-dama with Vegeta trapped down there even though he has to if he wants to destroy Buu." level.*
It was one of those scenes that while in the manga was relatively short, in the anime it really notched up the tension like crazy for me at the time as it took nearly a whole episode with Goku all "I can't!" and Vegeta being all "You must!".
