Given recent announcements I'd kind of expect the new DBZ console game to have a Vita SKU now.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

Might finally be a good reason for me to pick up the next Dragonball game.

Vita seemed like a waste of time as a product. The line up doesn't even compare to nintendo. Most of the games don't seem any good or are ports I would pick up for my PS3. Vita seems like a waste of a console to put a DB game on.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

You probably don't even own much less played a Vita to even say that. The line up is pretty decent with amazing graphics that blows Nintendo's out of the water. So how can you say that Vita was a waste of console?
I'm a DB veteran thats paid my DB dues!!

I have one, have dropped a total of $37 dollars on 7-9 games. Basically $17 for plus and like like two $10 dollar games. I'm going to have to politely disagree with your comment. Honestly the system was one of my girlfriend and I's smartest investments. It's definitely a lot of a fun and a beautiful piece of hardware, and while I haven't gotten around to picking up many cross buy games it's definitely a nice bonus; two games, one purchase can't be beat. I'll admit the 3DS has the stronger library but it's heavily dependent on first party support. The Vita's first party support is still solid just not as dominant as Nintendo's and 3rd party developers are still trying to find their footing. Considering their is already a Jump game in the works and a lot of fighting games using cross play between the PS3 and Vita I'd say developers would also disagree that it's a waste of a product. I can't expect you to go out and buy one, they aren't exactly cheap(and that is a legitimate problem), but I suggest you pick one up and play with it before fully slamming the system.

There will be some good games for the Vita later down the line.

The least powerful system always wins.

So now both portable consoles have their own Dragon Ball games.

[3DS] - Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission
[PSV] J-Stars Victory Vs

Well, JSVV isn't exactly a Dragon Ball game but it does have DB character(s) so it should count as one for now even if there's more coming. It should be fun to play this while travelling or whatever.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:

I think it's safe to assume that Heroes is going to get a sequel down the line. You think Namco Bandai is going to shift focus more on the 3DS now since Ultimate Mission is doing well? Do you think they're going to dip their toes in the opposing handheld when they're already doing great with the 3DS?

I doubt a Heroes sequel would move over to Vita. If anything, I could see it releasing on both platforms. I'm thinking the Vita will get ports of PS3 games if any DB exclusive Vita games release while we're still getting PS3 games. If we get a game exclusive to Vita, I'm thinking it will be an RPG. RPGs are great on handhelds (especially those of the turn-based variety).

I would assume that if we're getting a game that runs on current-gen technology then we might see it on the Vita as well.

But Heroes is based on PS2 tech. A sequel on the Vita would be a tad overkill.

Not necessarily. Ultimate Mission looks terrible on 3DS, at least it would look like a PS2 game on Vita. Doesn't matter anyways, since an Ultimate Mission sequel would be on 3DS. PSVita's slowly starting to gain some headway in Japan (though Sony needs a consistent release schedule to keep things going) but it's no where near as popular as the 3DS in the demographic that buys Heroes merch, children.

The success of Ultimate Mission makes me question why Namco Bandai didn't launch the Budokai HD Collection in Japan around now. It could've benefited from the movie's hype, and they could've added Birsu's model from Heroes to the games to make up for lost time.
