No offence intended, but I think you're just saying that because you really like Vegeta. I'm not sure it would have been good from a storytelling perspective for Vegeta to be the one to defeat Freeza.

But that's what What Ifs are for, I guess.

It would have been cool to see him kill Freeza as a SSJ sure but I think it would have been the easy route out storytelling wise.
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

That would be good for Vegeta (from his perspective, I mean), but not necessarily good for the overall story. I mean, I think Vegeta's one of the most interesting characters in the story because it all happened the way it did. As an example, he may not have been the one to defeat Buu himself, but that made his character moments there far more interesting to me. Some (if not all, in my opinion) of Vegeta's best moments come from him not winning.

Not really it was more because he hated being under him. I think Vegeta mentions he doesn't care much for his race or his father etc.

I am pretty sure vegeta does care for his father. Why do you think he cried in the Freeza saga?

They were tears of fear, because he knew that Freeza was going to brutally murder his cocky ass. If you're talking about his death scene, he was crying because his pride had been crushed; Freeza effortlessly beat him to death like he was nothing- because he WAS nothing- and he was reduced to begging a low class warrior to avenge him.

And Vegeta being the one to defeat Freeza not only wouldn't have made sense PL wise, but it would've been very bad writing, as Goku had been built up as the legendary Super Saiyan and was the protagonist while Vegeta was just some guy. Honestly I think Vegeta gets to take out too many villains as is- way more than he has any right to. I mean come on, you couldn't have let Krillin have one solid victory on Namek at the expense of one of Vegeta's five?

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke

Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Thats why he said Freeza murdered his father and killed his race. Wouldnt that effect you? Goku got his potential unlocked as a kid,Trained by gods his main attack was not even invented by him. Vegeta made up his moves by himeseld trained in a gravity chamber throughout the series goku was stronger then vegeta and vegeta was stronger then goku. Vegeta gets ss2 on earth. goku 7 years in the otherworld gets ss2 and ss3.

He started crying right after Freeza casually kicked away his most powerful blast. Then King Kai said that this was the first time Vegeta truly felt fear. One epic beat down later, he's a pathetic heap, crying on the floor again, begging Goku for help. Then after he dies, Goku says that he knows that Vegeta didn't cry because of the Saiyans that were killed while burying him.

He died because his pride was crushed, he made it apparent that he never gave a crap about his race.

Yeah, it would affect me, but then I again I never murdered entire civilizations, butchered a village full of innocents when it wasn't necessary, tried to blow up a populated planet when my patience started to run, or attempted to blow up another planet with all my allies on it when I started to lose patience again.

If Goku had had his potential completely unlocked as a child, he coulda blinked away all his opponents at that stage. Really, the super god water didn't do much except bring out a tiny stipend. Now, Babidi's/Guru's/(especially) Old Kai's potential unlock on the other hand...

Thought we were talking about Goku/Gohan/Vegeta

No really he does. Come on, a full blooded human becoming as strong as Yamcha? That's seriously badass. He's undisputedly at least a couple hundred k in power level.

Guides and quotes and character profiles--and even Yamcha himself in the manga, if you want to count that--say that Kuririn is the strongest Earthling. But I guess there's room for debate.

Before anyone asks, Tenshinhan has always been counted as an "Earthling" too, despite the guides mentioning his alien ancestry.

It depends what you mean by potential. If you mean hidden power, he had his drawn out by Babidi after he let him possess him. Goku had his hidden power drawn out by the Super God Water ages ago, though, so that isn't the be all and end all of anything.

I thought in order to posses him you would need to control him. Vegeta cant be controlled if he was supreme kai would be dead

It's not really possessing per se, more like mind control. Possessing would mean Babidi enters Vegeta's body and is controlling it himself like with Baby in GT. Vegeta let Babidi's influence into and release his power, then proved he was too willful to be actually controlled.

Well, you're right. Even though Babidi cast his spell on him, Vegeta's urge to fight Goku was so strong that he didn't exactly obey him. Regardless, it was as he was casting this spell that was meant to control him that Babidi said he'd also draw out Vegeta's hidden power while he was at it. It was that boost in power that Vegeta wanted.
