What if vegeta saw bulma get killed

Post by Vegeta12 » Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:08 pm

What if vegeta saw bulma get killed in the future of dbz. Because vegeta surpasses goku just from bulma getting slapped. What if she got killed what would his power be like.

Uh... What? Is that from Battle of Gods or something?

If so, I'm getting tired of people posting spoilers, or at least "semi-spoilers" in other threads. I've seen at least a few other plot developments spoiled in other threads unrelated to BoG, without so much as a spoiler alert.

Sure, lots of Dragon Ball fans, me included, had things spoiled for them back in the day, but I don't want that to happen with this new movie.

Somehow I don't imagine too much of a difference in power boost versus Bulma getting slapped. Super Saiyan 3 doesn't strike me as one of the spontaneous, rage-driven transformations.

I don't think there's a direct correlation between "how much Bulma gets damaged" to "how much Vegeta powers off." He just got enraged, and powered up.
Incidentally, and I hate to be "that guy," but shouldn't this topic, and the other two you've started be in the in-universe discussion?

He'd charge at the villain and get beaten in one slap.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

He would probably get a power boost but this time it would remain longer, not for 1 minute like against Beers. He would probably keep this power until his enemy is defeated. I don't think he will transform to SSJ3 though.

I remember Vegeta getting pissed as hell against Hildegarn when his house got destroyed and kept up pretty well at that time.
Whilst he may not be able to reach Ssj3 by Bulma getting killed (or maybe he could, who knows) he would momentarily show a burst of a tremendous power, possibly near Ssj3.

BoG spoilers

Why is SSJ3 even being mentioned? SSJ Vegeta was already stronger than SSJ3 Goku.

It's Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta.

It's not actually confirmed though is it? Logically it should be SSJ2 Vegeta though.

The Dragon Ball Heroes: Victory Mission manga had a special tie-in page which showed Beet, the main character, meeting Goku while he was watching Vegeta getting his ass kicked by Beers, and his aura had sparks. So, Vegeta was a Super Saiyan 2.

It still doesn't make very much sense too me. I mean look at Vegeta trying to attack Cell when Trunks got killed, nothing. But Bulma getting hit makes a Vegeta super strong? What?!

Maybe whatever hidden strength he taps into in Battle of Gods wasn't there yet in the Cell arc. Or wasn't accessible, at least. Maybe it's something that had to be unearthed by training, or maybe it reflects the change in Vegeta's personality by this point.

Maybe this didn't happen against Cell because he was still evil at that point.

He didn't really have a bond with Trunks at that time. He did his best trying not to acknowledge him (as his son and as a person basically). And even then he got angry at Cell and wanted to avenge his son.
So you can imagine what would happen when someone threatens the person he actually deeply cares about now.

Toriyama draws SSJ with sparks nowadays. There's no conclusive proof to say whether sparkless Vegeta in the movie or spark Vegeta in Toyotaro's DBHeroes manga is SSJ2 or not.

Toyotaru doesn't give sparks to the Super Saiyans.

Or maybe it didn't happen against Cell because Vegeta isn't a half-Saiyan hybrid.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!
