Thank you! From what I've read in the article I mentioned above, Yiannis sounds like an amazing guy.TheRed259 wrote: Thu May 14, 2026 5:46 pm No, he used the Greek accent like the rest of the cast. He has only used the Cypriot Greek dialect in some television and theatrical radio productions in Cyprus.
An example of what the Cypriot Greek dialect sounds like:

Not only because he fondly remembers Vegeta but also because of the wonderful (his formative years in stage) and tough moments (specially the invasion in Cyprus) he went through and his wish to return to his homeland to spend the rest of his life.
I had no idea that the Greek dub was also one of the dubs that added local references. It's good to know that.Incidentally, the dubbing directors were also from Cyprus and from what he told me, they were the ones who let him mention Sheftalia (a popular traditional Cypriot food) in episode 8 of Dragon Ball Z.

Off-topic: I've been watching some episodes of Power Rangers in Greek on Youtube, which from what I've been listening, was dubbed by the same cast as Dragon Ball.

Watching it was a bizarre and interesting experience, mainly because of the voice switching between scenes like Eric (Quantum Ranger) going from Themis to Stelios at 0:59 and way too noticeable problems with the audio mixing like Aurico's (Alien Ranger) roll call being only heard seconds later than it should at 1:13.
Do you happen to know whether the Greek dub of Power Rangers was well received as Dragon Ball's?
