Darkest DBZ moment?
Moderators: Kanzenshuu Staff, General Help
I would have to say a very dark moment is at the end of GT when things start looking bad during the Yi Xing Long battle. (Recalling from memory..) Basically, the men are getting the women out of there, then Vegeta decides that he would rather die than run away. He decides to turn around and face Yi Xing Long, then Gohan, Goten, and Trunks catch the vibe and make the same choice.
They all go and face Yi Xing Long and get absolutely pummeled. The darkest moment of the scene is when Vegeta gets stabbed through the shoulder by one of Yi Xing Long's spikes and gets ruthlessly fried by the "dragon thunder". The great voice acting and bgm in the japanese version (can't say anything about the dub, haven't seen it) all contribute to the emotion of a great scene.
Say what you will about it as a whole, but I personally really enjoyed the end of GT.

I always thought the way Freeza viciously beat Vegeta to a pulp and then finished him off when he couldn't even move coupled with Vegeta's crying death plea to Goku was kind of hard to watch.BROLEROT wrote:When Vegeta was killed by freeza and I think he even let a few tears out while saying his last words to Goku.
To me, that was one of the best moments of DBZ.Majin Buu wrote:I always thought the way Freeza viciously beat Vegeta to a pulp and then finished him off when he couldn't even move coupled with Vegeta's crying death plea to Goku was kind of hard to watch.BROLEROT wrote:When Vegeta was killed by freeza and I think he even let a few tears out while saying his last words to Goku.
Dark? What do you expect from Freeza? Sugar lollipops and gumdrop kisses? (lol)
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.
Maybe from Dub "Frieza".JAPPO wrote:To me, that was one of the best moments of DBZ.Majin Buu wrote:I always thought the way Freeza viciously beat Vegeta to a pulp and then finished him off when he couldn't even move coupled with Vegeta's crying death plea to Goku was kind of hard to watch.BROLEROT wrote:When Vegeta was killed by freeza and I think he even let a few tears out while saying his last words to Goku.

Hmm.. "darkest" moment would have to be either Omega Shenron (Don't feel like doing Chinese what-nots) having the world entirely eclisped, basically everyone's dead/dying as Goku and Vegeta are making their last efforts to take him down (Vegeta gets impaled too =S). Or, as previously mentioned Gohan's death in the Future Trunks TV Special.
"Saddest" moment would probably be Gohan's death, as mentioned, or Bardock's death. Also, Vegeta's death fits nicely in these two categories.

The Saiyan Saga always reminded me of a "real war" / WW1 kind of situation. It's all gritty and they all go in there thinking they're going to rock but end up dying needlessly. Then you have the Cell saga where it's the complete opposite. Glory! The Prince wrote:Yamcha's death against the saibamen(sp?) was really sad for me. Does that make Gohan attacking Fat Buu Pickett's Charge?mAcChaos wrote:The Saiyan Saga always reminded me of a "real war" / WW1 kind of situation. Clearly when the sniper took out the wandering old couple with headshots, I mean where the hell did that come from?

Unfortunately, sir, you've replied to a thread that died... um. Five years ago, almost. That's known as necroposting (or in this case, Super-Duper Necroposting), and as a general rule it's not something the forum wants-- it makes the mods' jobs just a touch more difficult, and just plain confuses the dickens out of everyone else at the same time. Perhaps you'd like to refresh yourself on the Forum Rules?Nex Carnifex wrote:Clearly when the sniper took out the wandering old couple with headshots, I mean where the hell did that come from?
If you feel like your response is important enough to warrant repoening the topic, feel free to make an entirely new thread! In the meantime, a mod will be along to lock this one. ;p
