Question about last fight with Kid Buu

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

I do think that Goku went into the fight with that mentality, yes. Despite Buu's regenerative abilities, he does remark at one point that he could have won the battle early on were it not for his trying to look cool. That itself is when he talks about being able to obliterate Buu if he can have enough time to build up the necessary power.
Drabaz then wrote:Also, when Gotenks' fusion wore off inside of Super Buu, Goku told Gohan to not worry about the potora anymore, he could take care of it.
By "he could take care of it," I'm assuming that the "he" refers to Gohan, yes? Because Goku's remark at the time was in regards to Gohan not needing any assistance to defeat Super (Piccolo) Buu and had nothing to do with himself, a'course.

The wording is a bit unclear to me, so I'm just checking.
Drabaz next wrote:But regarding the original question...I really think that Akira Toriyama intentionally put in the dialogue, "I'm sorry...I spent all my power...I can't teleport...", so that people wouldnt ask questions like this.
I don't know about "intentionally," but it strikes me as plausible considering what he must have been going through at the time.

Based on the last post and dub dialogue, I started some algebra junk to try to find something. I managed to prove that Piccolo is weaker than ShinBuu(no absorptions). :'(. What a waste of math...

I think I have to agree that the bit about lacking the power to teleport was probably intentional to force Goku to use the genkidama. *wonders if Toei suggested it as the victory mechanism because it always worked in the movies but never in the show*

[edit] I was bored and did some more pretend math... based on dub dialogue, mind you.
So I found that at most, SuperBuu+Gotenks+Piccolo is 1.5times Gohan's power (this assumes that Goku's confidence in their ability to beat Piccobuu was because of Gohan's power and not his own, which could be wrong).
Super/Shin/whateverBuu (no absorptions) was around 0.75 times Gohan's power. I think. I feel like I'm forgetting something in here (Piccolo's inclusion made this hard to wade through).

But... here's the part I got that prompted me to add on to this post.
According to the dub, Gotenks splitting in Buu caused him to lose "over a third of his power". So going on the assumption that Buu with Goten, Trunks and Piccolo was 2/3 the power of Buu with SSJ3Gotenks (Stated around equal to Buu) and Piccolo, and assuming that for sake of fusion Goten and Trunks' powers are treated equally (since they must be the same for fusion, even though Trunks is supposedly stronger), it can be shown that, in the dub universe at least, Gotenks=6t+Piccolo, where t=the power at which Goten and Trunks fused (separate, not together). The problem with doing anything else with that is that... Piccolo's in it. :(.

I could link to the calculations... but I won't unless someone actually cares enough to ask. :P. I've not heard positive things about equations for this era, so I'm really just playing with math and DB at the same time... "How do you make math fun? Add a Goku!".
