I liked Funi's the best, but I'm a Schemmel mark.

I think we're taking the " unh! unh! unh!" thing too seriously. Like what was said earlier, it's a cartoon. I'm thinking they were doing that to emphasize it the muscles more. Why? No idea.

I like FUNi's music better.

Hypothetically speaking, would you have not been a Dragon Ball fan had they done the "proper" thing and retained the BGM? I mean, I like a lot of the songs they used in "Cooler's Revenge" (especially when they busted out with Disturbed right before Goku goes crazy on Coola pre-transformation) but that doesn't mean they should have replaced the original audio with them.

I admit I have yet to watch any of the big sets yet, but it may be possible they had the same problem of Sailor Moon S and Super S where the dub voices and Japanese music don't match up well. But like I said, I have yet to see it so can't say.

They don't really, but they weren't producing the series with this score in mind. Some scenes work fine, others don't (like dramatic music cues on a wide shot where noone was talking originally overlapping with extended dialogue sequences, for example). It's kind of like how movie 4 feels like random rock songs were inserted throughout the movie with no real effort, as opposed to movie 5 where the whole thing feels like a mildly kickass AMV.

Though I would take that any day of the week if it meant never having to hear that music they played during all the side characters' scenes during 3rd season.
