Finally got these beauties in. I've had Kai part 2 for a little while, but never posted about it. I would have rather gotten three and four on Blu-ray, but, I couldn't find a copy of those for cheap. These were a fucking steal. Oh well. At least I have all of the available Yamamoto score.

That is exactly what I did after I stupidly sold my Dragonball Kai part 4 BD without realizing how expensive it would later be to get the yamamoto score of that part. It's fine like you said, but I also wish I could have gotten the blu-rays.

*sinp*
I've been wanting to do that to get the Part 4 episodes, but I can't bear to have everything except Part 4 on Blu-ray and have two part 3's. Picky, I know, but I might have to do that as the Yamamoto parts' aren't going down.

Nice buy. Though it sucks how the Madman releases don't contain the Spanish track unlike the US release, found that out the hardway when I bought 1.6 (one with Yamucha on the front) at Armageddon Expo years back.

What the? A 'G' rating on 1.7 (one with Shenlong)? That now makes two releases Madman have done on DBZ that has a 'G' rating (other being Fusion Reborn).

Those Kai sets look great, specially the DVD ones with all the characters, I should've gotten the DVD version than BD but oh well the PQ/AQ on BD looks/sounds better than on DVD.

Edit: No slipcover for DB Kai Part 2 Blu-ray?
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

Yeah, I got it used. The box for the DVDs is actually a little beat-up, though you can't tell from the pictures.
As I said, disappointment that it wasn't on Blu-ray, but I'll live. I might even be able to track the BDs down one day for cheap.

It's annoying how inconsistent the ratings are.

Part 7 for Kai so far has been the only one without an M rating.

Man that sucks to hear about the Spanish Dub. What the hell goes through Madman's heads when they do stuff like that?

Anyways, I'll be picking up the Part 2 Vegeta Saga volumes off of Amazon when I get the chance since they're so cheap.

I managed to find a blu-ray copy of Kai part 4 on ebay for cheap (ish), cos I wanted at least that entire arc with the same music. I'm hoping that it won't be too jaring when the music switches for part 5.

My next purchase... depends. I'm currently going through FUNi's season four DragonBall set. And I'm trying to space it out, but it's really hard. There are some excellent episodes on here. I was just hoping they'd announce a DragonBall Dragonbox release before I was forced to buy season five.

This was delivered a few days ago.

Image

It contains Yo! The Return of Son Goku and Friends!, the 2011 version of Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans, Episode of Bardock and some Ultimate Tenkaichi footage.

I actually really liked the Episode of Bardock. Seeing Freezas ancestor "Chilled" as a renegade space pirate, and Bardock's interactions with the little alien kid. A very interesting side story. Of course, Yo! The Return of Son Goku and Freinds! is hilarious and as fun as can be. Loved seeing even the human fighters do something, even if it was just destroying falling debris. I've already seen the original Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans, so I only watched the first 15 minutes or so of the new version to compare.

Name one other official anime release that has game character art on the cover, mixed with standard art.

That someone knows how to make a sticker. You won't get any official Dragon Ball anime release translated in english (I assume that's the subtitles it has...or does it have chinese too?) that isn't from FUNimation (or Manga UK, as of recently) and I don't see a logo there. I don't want to say you were ripped off, but...I've seen better looking bootlegs. Sorry :(

Naw, it's actually a good dvd. Picture quality and everything is great, so it was a good buy, I just didn't know it was bootleg...

I'm not sure it has even been officially released outside of Japan at all yet, but that's not the japanese dvd's cover art. That's about as much as I can tell ya.
