Didn't we leave this behind back after the special's ratings.
Btw, aren't these just the partial ratings? As in they're only for one region?
By the way, when are the big spoilers coming, don't we get it during the first week of the month?

Is that true for Japan too, though. We watch online, but as far as I know, there is no streaming service for DBS in Japan. At most, people record it and watch it later.omaro34 wrote: TV is dying. A lot of people watch online.

Yes, it's only for one region, but that region is seen as being representative of the country overall.Michsi wrote:Not this line of thinking again....

The complete ratings changed the whole perception towards the special, though...Simere wrote:Yes, it's only for one region, but that region is seen as being representative of the country overall.Michsi wrote:Not this line of thinking again....

To this day, the series greatest animation effort got the lowest rating in DBS according to that list :/

110 wasn't the series greatest animation effort. That still belongs to 66.Michsi wrote:The complete ratings changed the whole perception towards the special, though...Simere wrote:Yes, it's only for one region, but that region is seen as being representative of the country overall.Michsi wrote:Not this line of thinking again....

I easily could've missed something, but I don't remember seeing complete national ratings. I remember seeing DVR ratings, which were high, and also ratings for another region, Hokkaido, and they were high there too.Michsi wrote:The complete ratings changed the whole perception towards the special, though...

Maybe I need to go watch it again. Could be that I was thinking about 'promotional effort'.HeroR wrote:110 wasn't the series greatest animation effort. That still belongs to 66.Michsi wrote:The complete ratings changed the whole perception towards the special, though...Simere wrote:

I think we had both? The DVR ratings were definitely good, but I remember seeing someone posting another list which made most then realize the weekly list we usually got wasn't nation-wide.Simere wrote:I easily could've missed something, but I don't remember seeing complete national ratings. In the next decade or 15 years or so would be my guess. It wasn't that long ago when renting video games and movies was a lucrative business for years until Netflix showed up, and when companies like Blockbuster refused to adapt to the change in their business climate, they went bankrupt.Ki Breaker wrote:Say, how long do you think until TV is actually considered "dead"omaro34 wrote:TV is dying. Most people get their news online nowadays, the traditional news outlets are slowly dying too. Nobody watches sports highlights that much on TV anymore too, most watch it online as well. Just look at the alarming rate that ESPN is losing its subscriptions. Many people are cutting the cord.
Mischi gave a good point, I don't know how that trend is going in Japan, but I don't think anything stops them from watching Super just like I do on YouTube. Many families are realizing cable tv is an extra cost they don't need when they have the internet.
So to answer your question, TV is dying, and given how fast things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if Baby Boomers saw it disappear in their lifetime.

Even the new angel sketch from a while ago who was seen together with other existing angles?

I highly doubt TV will 'die' as you put it since video rental still do exist in the form of Red Box and even Gamefly, which both do good business. It will be smaller and more niche, but not 'dead'. It may even get a rebirth in a new form.omaro34 wrote:In the next decade or 15 years or so would be my guess. For example, people have said for years that the console and handheld markets were dying since people could just play games on their phones and didn't need a dedicated device like the Gameboy or 3DS. Consoles were also losing space to the PC thanks to Steam, which was also called a dead market in the early 2000s. What happened is that the consoles evolved to become more like the PCs and kept alive by their exclusives. Handhelds got a shot in the arm with the Switch, a console/handheld hybrid, and is a smashed success so far.

One Piece was down too, Super probably wasn't down because of Gohan.perucho1990 wrote:You know what, it was a good decision not extending Gohan/Piccolo vs Saonel and Pirina, because DBS just jobbed to Pokemon

I think the rating were down because of U2 transforming into Magical Girls, that probably made the japanese fans to change the channel.
Anyway spoilers are out
120: Perfect Survival Strategy! The threat of U3's assassin!!
121: Total warfare! The Ultimate 4-Way Fusion VS U7's All-Out Attack!!
122: Have pride in yourself! Vegeta challenges the strongest!!
---
GG Universe 4, they are done this saturday, U3 is done 2 weeks later.
Vegeta will fight Jiren and obviously job..

Again, One Piece was down too, so it likely had little, if anything, to do with the content of the episode.perucho1990 wrote:I think the rating were down because of U2 transforming into Magical Girls, that probably made the japanese fans to change the channel.

Perfect Survival Strategy? Total warfare? Sounds fun, buuuut -
- I haven't seen these spoilers from the usual sources, so chances are that their not legitimate?

DBS ranked 9th place for the first time ever, thats another issue.
I hope the U3 isnt Biarra, how are we supposed to take him seriously after 17 offscreened him?
2017 ending with Vegeta jobbing to Jiren would be kinda funny for some reason.
Freeza will likely fight Toppo and Gohan goes for Dyspo,

AGAIN, One Piece was down too, so likely something was going on during that specific hour that lead to somewhat lower ratings than usual.perucho1990 wrote:DBS ranked 9th place for the first time ever, thats another issue.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Those titles are still unconfirmed of course but there's nothing too outlandish in there either. Vegeta's already expressed interest in fightig Jiren so unfortunately I think he'd be stupid enough to do it. :/
122 being on there is the most suspicious because it would be the Dec 30th episode, which would mean that they're either not taking New Year's weekend off or the titles show the Jan 6th episode. Something seems off about that.
