I wasn't able to catch the episode live, but I did see a potato cam recording of the NEP and I saw a lot of what looked like polished Yashima.BakaManiaHD wrote:Wow, the next episode preview has some episode 4 vibes

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 75
This was quite a weird episode. There were quite ugly looking shots off some of the villains but when Shimanuki was on point, he was on point.
Is it me or did the NEP have a weirdly fascinating style to it? Like an Episode 4 vibe to it.

It seems they change the color palette a bit. I don't see any yashima in the NEP either.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 75
Wow, the staff list for today is weird, Itai again, Paul Ano-nuevo returns, only 5 animators and a whole 5 2nd key animators(3 are korean again). Without seeing the episode I get the feeling it was just kinda scraped together, but that's probably a good thing. Shimanuki provides no animation, very interesting.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 75
Episode 76
Animation supervisors
Paul Ano-nuevo Shimanuki Masahiro Itai Hiroyuki
Key animator
Higashide Futoshi Inaba Jin Nikaido Atsushi Sasakado Nobuyoshi Itai Hiroyuki
2nd key animator
Shimanuki Masahiro Tsuji Miyako Kim Jung-chul Kim Jin-yoing Park Sun-kyung TAP A-Line Studio Myu
Reminded me a lot of episode 64 in terms of animation... as in, there wasn't much of it.
Seems like Higashide (and I guess Inaba, too) dominates the first half with a bunch of Tsuji corrections for some of the other animators, while Shimanuki handles the second with a little less Tusji.
I spotted Itai right at the end of the episode, so I guess that confirms him, then. That's a good feeling.
The NEP looks interesting. Lots of very thick line art. I really like the look of that. Will be interesting to take a look at who's involved, there. Not feeling the soft glow filter, though.
Toei posted up an extended preview of the OP. Pretty much what we saw, but we get a marginally longer look at the cuts - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=si64NzMi88k

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 75
So sounds like a simple slap together job for today's episode with heavy correction work to keep it together then? As I said, probably for the best with the next arc coming up now.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 75
Ugh. This is our third time getting the return of old enemies and once again we got no good animation.

With the next arc starting it was for the best to not put too much into this episode.JulieYBM wrote:Ugh. This is our third time getting the return of old enemies and once again we got no good animation.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 75
Toei has just released a new video about the next arc
Wow, the color palete is so much better in my opinion, the NEP episode preview and this trailer shows some great contrast and ambient light.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 75
But the last episode had a fantastic storyboard and this really good cut of action from Higashide. So it really does make you wonder just how much Toei are spreading and prioritising their resources, don't you think?ArchedThunder wrote:With the next arc starting it was for the best to not put too much into this episode.JulieYBM wrote:Ugh. Considering that was an anomaly, and that everything in the NEP looks pretty good I'd say they're doing a good job.Lord Beerus wrote:But the last episode had a fantastic storyboard and this really good cut of action from Higashide. I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 75
It's funny how people are saying that the animation has changed and the "animation" looks better based on how the color palette looks smoother in the preview and how this can really make a big difference in people. But if the animation it's going to be great in the next episode remains to be seen. I hope those 10 weeks of fillers makes a great impact in the consistency of the art to say the least, and that we get less off models shots.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 75
I am not fond of the new color palette/filter. I did like the NEP for all the other reasons though. Thick character art, seemingly decent animation, impact frames etc.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 75
I actually don't like the color change that much right now.neolux wrote:It's funny how people are saying that the animation has changed and the "animation" looks better based on how the color palette looks smoother in the preview and how this can really make a big difference in people. Super Saiyan Goku Aura in the preview looks so damn vibrant.
I'm bad at English and still learning. If there's anything wrong, please correct me.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 75
I hope the thick line work is something used throughout the entire arc and beyond, it looks great.
Anyways, I'm surprised you guys didn't notice Yashima in the NEP, he's pretty visible in a few shots, but it seems he's either altered his style to be more on model, the extra time allowed him to be more on model or he's being partially corrected. When I get my hands on an HD version of the NEP I can take some pictures to show you guys.
EDIT: A quick example from the Fuji TV website upload.

Yashima's distinct head profile is on display here, but more polished.

To be fair, I think most people who commented immediately weren't watching through sources in particularly good quality.ArchedThunder wrote:Anyways, I'm surprised you guys didn't notice Yashima in the NEP,
Just finished seeing it in HD. The scene you mentioned, one shot of Vegeta, and Goku at the end do seem to have Yashima traits. Definitely some 2nd KA or CAD corrections going on there, at a guess.
I wonder if Ishikawa's with him.
I'm just interested in who's decided on the line work.
