You have to think in the long term. I'm convinced that they're using a very common Dragon Ball trope here. Broly demonstrates his power, wowing the crowd, Vegetto kicks his ass putting everybody in complete awe, Bra sort of does the same, and they get WTF pwn'd by the big bad (probably XXI) to show just how powerful the bad guy is. Vegetto is pretty much a stand-in for Vegeta.

Yeah, I gotta admit I kind of feel the same way but only because I want to see more of the "Human" universe with Krillin and Tenshinhan (I know we just saw Tenshinhan fight, I'm just a huge fangirl for him) and not to mention the Saiyan universe with evil Goku. But they all had their shinning moment, probably not as much as U16 but I'm sure there will be other universe fan wanking in the near future. Just give it time.

Exactly... DBM may be guilty of fan wanking, but its pretty much doing it for almost all of the characters.

Vegetto is awesome, but I don't care much about Bra to be honest. I wonder if she will ascend to SSJ3 in the possible future of DBM. Now that would mean lots of death. And she would look like an alien.

A Mary Sue type of character is a character that is simply way too perfect compared to the others or too favored by the author.

Bra is not perfect... At all... She is shown to have more flaws than qualities. She is portrayed as a inexperienced hot-head teenager who can't control her emotions or her power, who almost screwed up during the fight with Buu (she was lucky that Broly was sent back when he did, or else they would be totally f*cked) and she isn't even smart enough to realize that if she had attacked Bojack when he killed Pan, Pan wouldn't be revived at the end of the tournament because they would simply be disqualified, before everyone mentioned that to her.

These are all flaws.

What are her qualities then? Well, she is powerful. And... That is pretty much it. And even that is just because she is the daughter of Vegetto. And unlike Gohan compared to Goku, she doesn't seem to be powerful enough to be able to top her father despite being constantly training and having the drive to do so, since, from what we have seen, Vegetto is still much more powerful than her.

So, her power is understandable due to her being the daughter of Vegetto, but her potential doesn't seem to be that high. It seems to be just the minimum we would expect from the offspring of Vegetto.

So... Why exactly is she a Mary Sue? Because she gets a little more screen time than other characters?
She does get a little more, but so does Vegetto, and they go together almost all of the time. Basically, when one appears, so does the other. And, if all the Buu/Broly business hadn't happened, she wouldn't have any extra screen time compared to other characters. And like I said, that screen time was divided between her and Vegetto (and Gohan).

Excuse my long exposition, I'm not trying to bash your opinion, but I really can't understand why so many people insist on this Mary Sue business. Every character is being fan wanked. Bra is no exception, and I hardly think that the fact that she had a little more screen time qualifies her as a Mary Sue.

Bra is pretty powerful compared to the others, which might be useful later on, but that's the minimum we would expect from Vegetto's daughter and, besides that, she is just a very flawed character who introduces a somewhat interesting sub-plot for herself and Vegetto with her battle against her own self control.

U16 isn't nearly the focus. U9 got three fights, U17 got a long fight and a special. Trunks got a special and a fight. Broly got a long fight and two specials. U18 have had everyone in their universe fight. U16 has only had Gotenks' fight, the escapade in space and Vegetto fighting Broly/Pan vs Bojack. Naturally the strongest universe would get some spotlight just as Broly, Buu and Cell got spotlight. And now we are also getting a look in U6.

Flaws can make a character more interesting and, in some cases, more likable, but not more perfect, as in Mary Sue perfect. Those are two very different concepts.

As for her being favored, I've already addressed that and concluded that she only got a little more screen time than other characters because of the whole Buu situation, which existed because of Vegetto. If that situation hadn't existed, she wouldn't have had more fan wanking than the others, and the focus of that situation was more on Buu and Vegetto than actually Bra.

So, she isn't perfect compared to the others, quite the opposite, and she isn't actually being that favored. Which, in my opinion, doesn't her make a Mary Sue.

Bra and Vegetto are more or less like Goku and Gohan after the ROSAT, when they had mastered the FPSSJ. They are much stronger than the other fighters, but still have threats like strong enemies. The other fighters, though, are capable to handle minor threats.

Bra is much like a female Gohan, I mean, her personality fits Gohan's a lot. Uncontrollable power, vengeful, making her own decisions no matter what others say...the list can go on.
So in that way, it makes her a bland character IMO. Not that Gohan ever was a bland character, but we have seen it before.
But I am not complaining. She serves her purpose well at the moment, just like Gohan did for a while.

If you think that Salagir et. al. are fanwanking Bra and Vegetto, then I suppose that you are against Goku and Gohan getting almost all the spotlight in DBZ.

But to be honest, other characters have gotten enough screentime as it is already. And I bet that with weaker characters eliminated, we have much more amazing fights to look forward too.
