I do have to wonder what the point of using a silhouette is if it's a silhouette of something else.

The silhoutte is to provide the element of mystery while the shape of the silhoutte itself is supposed to be familiar in order to convey the message of, "It's sorta like this, but totally not like this at all," if that makes sense. It's the same reason the silhoutte of the Legendary Super Saiyan in the anime resembled an Ohzaru - it's just like that to establish the fact that it's something very Saiyan-primal. So, the silhoutte of SSJ Goku is there to say, "It's like the most purest form of a Super Saiyan." Get it?

Well, when you put it like that, it makes sense.

Kaiō telepathically contacts Vegeta to explain the situation, and notes that whatever he does, he must not anger Birusu, lest he destroy not only the Earth, but the entire galaxy. Vegeta is suitably freaked out, not least because of all the happy people enjoying themselves around him. As Kuririn plays with his daughter, Piccolo sings karaoke (much to the dismay of Goten and Trunks), and everyone toasts to Bulma’s good health, Vegeta looks over (eyes bugging out) to notice Birusu lounging on a deck chair across the way. Kaiō was not exaggerating: Birusu is indeed a big deal. The chapter closes on Birusu asking Vegeta about Super Saiyan God, and Vegeta repeating the words back at him. The ending narration says you will have to see the rest with your own eyes at the movie theater!

Guys. That is where the crazed Vegeta came from.

Oh damn that's great! I do wonder where the laugh/smile and him rubbing his hands together come in, maybe Birusu makes Vegeta do stupid things, and that's one of them. Then the fight starts because Vegeta loses his cool, and then we get a line like "Nobody mocks the Prince of all Saiyans". You just know he has to mention his royal lineage.

I wish that would happen anyway. I just bet Birusu wants to see if Vegeta is the SSJG so he challenges him to a fight.

Yeah pretty much. There has been foreign films that have released for an international audience and they don't scream out "DUHR THIS MOVIE WAS MADE FOR AMERICANS!" .

We're talking about DB fandom, beyond Kaizenshuu.

It's a vast wasteland. Imagine the world of Mad Max. That is DB fandom.

I wonder what wishes they use the Dragon Balls for, maybe to revive people or restore order? It crossed my mind they could wish for Goku's power-up but that'd be a major cop-out and the wish scene looks like it could occur at a peaceful time anyway.

It would at least be different than Goku doing the usual "Don't be mean...TO MY FRIENDS RAWR!" and then screaming in a crouched position. And if they used it to revive people again...that would be lame...that's the only thing they've ever used them for -_-

Your use of a plural on "wishes" actually reminded me of something that never crossed my mind: it's true that there are two wishes.
If one of them is the clever choice of giving Goku the power of a warrior God, then what can be the other wish for?

After all, Birus doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would kill anybody and destroy cities during the movie, he would likely only do so when blowing up the whole planet!... unless the desert area where they are is the exact same place where the party was, after Birus has gone angry and vaporized the whole city into a wasteland...

Kaio's planet is a proof that he has a little problem of self-control when he gets pissed, so I guess it's not impossible in the end.

I do believe one of the wishes is related to Goku receiving his power up. Based on what we know, both Goku vs Bils (round 1) and Bils vs everyone at the party should take place before the scene with Shenron. Maybe they just use their wish to gain knowledge on Bils or something, though.

I almost didn't recognise the Goku in that scan, because his hair seems strange (SS2 maybe?). I thought it might've been Super Saiyan Gohan after all.

So after reading the Dragon Ball SD excerpt, and seeing *that* pic in the scans of the magazine, I'm convinced. That figure of Vegeta suddenly makes sense, he's not under any spell, or anything like that. I'm certain that Vegeta, willingly, will act hilariously trying to keep Birusu from getting angry, while the rest of the gang will, unknowingly, undermine his actions. Oh, how low the mighty have fallen!

As long as they don't use one wish to bring lots of people back to life, there should actually be 3 wishes, per the Boo era setup.

I think the wishes will be 1. Give Goku the power to become a Super Saiyan God and 2. Remove his reliance on air so he can survive in space, those would be most convenient right?
