Who did the music for the remastered seasons 1 and 2 of DBZ? I actually enjoyed some of that, though not as much as Kikuchi's score.

Re: Your Fan Confessions
Nathan Johnson did the score for the UUE dub. I have to say, I'm probably part of the minority who say this, but I would rather listen to Menza's GT and Johnson's Z score over Faulconer's, which I can't stand at all. But overall, Kikuchi's and Tokunaga's is still my favourite.penguintruth wrote:Who did the music for the remastered seasons 1 and 2 of DBZ? Re: Your Fan Confessions
My confessions:
1. Buu is a really bland and boring character
2. Cell actually didn't have anything to brag about, regarding his powers, to Earth's fighters. After all it was because of them and their abilities he was strong, not because of some goal he had obtained with hard work or determination.
3. Vegeta is not in any way a deep character, and will probably never be one, no matter how you try to turn revenge and angst into something that gives a character depth.
4. No one in Dragonball had sex. I mean it. I bet everyone got their children from the stork in Dragonball.
5. Every deity in the Universe is worthless and not too knowing, except for Old Kaioshin (something in the line of Rocketman's comment).
6. Nappa's power didn't exceed 4,000.
7. Whilst some concepts did hold with DBZ's story, it was uneven and way too overpretentious. Even though it's a good story, it falls apart after the Freeza arc as a bland "higher power wins" type of deal.
8. 90% of Dragonball fanfics have the same formula. To add, they are not that inventive, nor well written.
9. Farmer w/shotgun didn't get enough screentime.
10. Yamcha was stronger than we think, but he lacked morals and dedication. I mean his power compared to the humans (Tenshinhan and Kuririn).
11. Piccolo would have an even match against a FPSSJ.

Re: Your Fan Confessions
1. I think of Faulconer as a musical genius (I have one of his scores as a ringtone)
2. Farmer w/shotgun > Broly
3. I'm scared shitless at Vegeta's Rape face to Gohan on Namek *cringes*
4. I wish DBZ would have ended with the Cell Games
5. I enjoyed GT
6. I like DB more than DBZ
7. I've not read either manga besides flipping through pages looking for specific quotes
8. Screw Nappa, Raditz should have shown up in GT
9. Thinking about it, there's not much I liked about DBZ besides from the beginning of the appearance of the Androids to the end of the Cell Games.
10. I read fan fics with yaoi pairings and enjoy it >< (No lemons though)
*Kills over*

Re: Your Fan Confessions
I'm happy with everything we got in the series and I don't nitpick the fuck out of "what went wrong" with them like most fans do. If DBZ ended with Freeza or Cell then the chances are that I would never become a fan, and DB made me want to be come a artist and writer.

Re: Your Fan Confessions
1. I don't like Uub as Goku's "succesor"
2. I dislike the american dub BGM for the most part but I admit I really like the SSJ3 transformation theme
3. On that note I also like the ending of the first Coola movie when they used the song Breaking Point "Phoenix" - it
introduced me to what is now one of my favorite songs and it kinda fit.
4. I love Head Cha La - maybe had I known japanese it would've been different cause from what I heard, the lyrics are kinda
childish and don't really make any sense, but it just sounds so fun.
5. I don't like how current DB animation looks like and I'm not to fond of Toriyama's recent drawing style either
6. I think that the "saiyans, saiyans everywhere" theme in the later part ruined the show (at leats for me)
7. I like the Garlic Jr. Saga.
8. I consider Goku to be leagues above Vegeta as a fighter and I here I don't mean just powerlevels.

I like Stupify by Disturbed playing in the bgm of the FUNi dub of movie 4 when Goku goes False SSJ.

Re: Your Fan Confessions
That was never Goku's plan anyway. At the end of the series, Vegeta said, "I know you too well, Kakarrot...this isn't about protecting the Earth..." and it cut to a scene with Goku asking Oob to promise to fight him after they finish training. Basically, all Goku wanted was a challenge from a new fighter. Assumedly, Goku had finally learnt his lesson by realizing that the younger generation didn't give a shit about fighting or protecting the Earth--they just wanted to live normal lives, have an education and date girls.AgitoZ wrote:This. Of course, that doesn't excuse the shittiness of the Boo arc's rushed ending. I honestly would've just preferred an ending with Goku and Vegeta fighting each other in the 28th Budokai.
No, he's not. He's a crappy Gohan clone village kid who just happens to be Boo's reincarnation, but will never have the amount of power Boo has.Senzu_Bean wrote:He is Majin Buu with a darker skin. Why should anyone doubt about him?

Re: Your Fan Confessions
Because of the lack of character development, or face time for that matter. He may a reincarnation of Majin Buu, but he's a ten year old kid who doesn't know how to use his strength. It's lame. Making Goku leave again was really stupid of Toriyama. Of course Pan doesn't get to know her grandfather...why would Toriyama let any child in the DB verse be happySenzu_Bean wrote:He is Majin Buu with a darker skin. Re: Your Fan Confessions
I have a few
-I can't stand the Japanese music. I find it completely unbearable. I much prefer Faulconer's work, and consider it essential when I'm watching Dragon Ball Z. However, I don't mind the Dragon Ball music.
-I've watched less than 15 episodes in Japanese and don't plan on watching more than that. The only reason I did was because it was the early days of P2P sharing and those were the only files I could fin.
-I find filler enjoyable 99% of the time
-I think Dead Zone is probably the best movie, but my favourite is Bojack Unbound (as of right now)
-Fusions were stupid, imo
-Kid Trunks reaches unprecedented levels of annoyance
-SSJ3 looks ridiculous
-That cute little Dr. Slump crossover at the end of the General Blue saga made me want to vomit the first time I saw it. Seriously, I couldn't stand that noise. Those were some of the most annoying characters/drawings I've ever seen.
-I can't really comment on Kai yet since we don't know what the deal is with that. But as of right now I can say I don't like the pacing too much.
-Android 16 is my favourite character.
-Second Coming is the best of the Broly movies.
-Sean Schemmel is a great Goku.

Uub is only intended to be a bookend to the story, an element of potential for the future. Of course he's not developed. He's not supposed to be, because the story ends right there. He's supposed to be like Goku when the story began, just some pretty strong kid with potential (though I guess he's more like Nam when it comes to motivation).

In the edited version of DB manga drawn BY TORIYAMA, after Goku leaves with Uub, he gives him the Kinto'un. That entire scene screamed of a simbolic "passing down the role of..." punctuated by the image of Goku as kid riding the Kinto'un overlaping with the one of Uub. Doubt? If you mean if I doubt his power, then no that was not it. It's simply a new character out of nowhere that we are just supposed to accept as the new "Goku". From what little I've seen of him he also seemed kinda uninteresting as a character too.Senzu_Bean wrote:He is Majin Buu with a darker skin. Why should anyone doubt about him?

It doesn't change the fact that the ending was rushed and Oob was a shit, uninspired character. And the entire younger generation of fights were intended to be "elements of potential for the future" too, yet they failed.penguintruth wrote:Uub is only intended to be a bookend to the story, an element of potential for the future. And Oob was never intended to be the next protector of Earth.
The only worthy successors of the role are Vegeta and Piccolo, since they're the ones who are consistently training, actually give a damn about training and won't end up retiring and settling down to have a normal life like the guys born 'n bred on Earth. Since Vegeta will probably have the same lifespan as Goku and Piccolo's a Namekian who'll probably live quite long anyway, Goku should've just given up on the kids and passed the role over to Piccolo.Piccolo Daimao wrote:At the end of the series, Vegeta said, "I know you too well, Kakarrot...this isn't about protecting the Earth..." and it cut to a scene with Goku asking Oob to promise to fight him after they finish training. Fair enough. But I still don't like the idea that we were just supposed to accept this bland Gohan clone as the new successor. This is all part of the rushed ending. Meet Boo's reincarnation, fly off to train and he's gonna be the new hero. Wam, bam, thank you mam.Michsi wrote:In the edited version of DB manga drawn BY TORIYAMA, after Goku leaves with Uub, he gives him the Kinto'un. Even if she was born on Earth and probably would've gone down the path of the other half-Saiyan kids and Earthlings and settled down to a normal life, I would've at least been willing to accept Pan as the next hero. Yeah, Pan! Just forget Pan, Goku! Your granddaughter and would-be-hero son's daughter who's taken an interest in fighting! If Toriyama wanted to push the "younger generation" thing so much, he should've gone with Pan than Oob. Even though Goku's plan was failed from the start.

Re: Your Fan Confessions
There's at least 2 characters far stronger and more qualified to be the Earth's protector. Gohan being the primary choice, and Goten & Trunks can always fuse into Gotenks. Oob is shown to care about his family in the same way that Gohan, Goten, and Trunks care about theirs. I'm sure Goku can and will inspire Oob to train all the time, but family will undoubtedly come first, which will at the very most curb his training in the same way it did Gohan's.Senzu_Bean wrote: He is Majin Buu with a darker skin. If anything, Oob seems like he can just be one of those strong characters that could assist Gohan or Gotenks in the same way the gang basically assisted Goku.
