Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
That is awesome.
Totally offering to handle the subtitles, by the way.

Mike! Think DBZ movie 13 ending theme! If you can't do it, WHO CAN!?

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
I know you guys probably have the whole thing arranged, but I have an idea in films that I've always loved. Mike, you don't want to add the whole epilogue thing, so why not do this:
Show those clips during the special at different times. Kind of like a "flashback," but actually the opposite.
What do you think...?

An interviewer asks, "The soundtrack in Sonic 3 has become legendary. Is it true that you worked with Michael Jackson on it?" Takashi Iizuka kills all of our hopes and dreams by replying, "You know, those are just rumors, and SEGA does not want to say anything about them. So they will forever be just rumors..." WHY!?

Hey Mike, just wondering how you're going to get this special online. Youtube? Up for download on the website?

Not at all, according to the latest podcast episode. Well, barring cons.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:Hey Mike, just wondering how you're going to get this special online. Youtube? Up for download on the website?

Ah, bummer. I really wanted to see this too. Just not enough to go to brave the terrifying animes convention.JulieYBM wrote:Not at all, according to the latest podcast episode. Oh well, good luck anyway. It seems you made a lot of killer progress thus far.

i'm almost 100% positive that i'll never be able to get to a con that'll be showing this. Is there gonna be any other way we could view it?

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
A suggestion: In the Bardock special, there is a scene where Bardock flashes-forward to a scene of Gokū staring down Freeza... in his first form (as the special was made before Freeza's other forms were revealed) Since this is technically inaccurate to the show, maybe you could replace those shots with similar shots from the series with Freeza in his proper form?

I can't believe this is on-topic.

But that would also be inaccurate as Bardock wouldn't be able to recognize Freeza in his true form.Puto wrote:A suggestion: In the Bardock special, there is a scene where Bardock flashes-forward to a scene of Gokū staring down Freeza... in his first form (as the special was made before Freeza's other forms were revealed) Since this is technically inaccurate to the show, maybe you could replace those shots with similar shots from the series with Freeza in his proper form?

But Bardock can tell the future so seeing Goku vs. Freeza in his final form would be more accurate.Makaioshin wrote:But that would also be inaccurate as Bardock wouldn't be able to recognize Freeza in his true form.Puto wrote:A suggestion: In the Bardock special, there is a scene where Bardock flashes-forward to a scene of Gokū staring down Freeza... in his first form (as the special was made before Freeza's other forms were revealed) Since this is technically inaccurate to the show, maybe you could replace those shots with similar shots from the series with Freeza in his proper form?

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
It's been awhile, but does Bardock say anything like "hey, that's Freeza and my son!" when he sees that vision of Goku confronting Freeza? I thought he just sees it and makes no comment. He doesn't necessarily have to comprehend everything he sees. I mean, he sees visions of Goku meeting Bulma, training under Kame-sennin, fighting Piccolo, etc, and obviously he wouldn't know who any of those people besides Goku are. So seeing Goku fight against a form of Freeza he doesn't know wouldn't be out of step with all that.Makaioshin wrote:But that would also be inaccurate as Bardock wouldn't be able to recognize Freeza in his true form.

It would just be swapping one inaccuracy with another. Though I suppose it wouldn't be as obvious.Castor Troy wrote: But Bardock can tell the future so seeing Goku vs. Freeza in his final form would be more accurate.
But it is not like all the other visions like the ones you named in which he is confused by what is going on. Its his last vision and the only one that he is able understand right away as indicated by his smile.Herms wrote: It's been awhile, but does Bardock say anything like "hey, that's Freeza and my son!" when he sees that vision of Goku confronting Freeza? Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
I know he's never actually seen Freeza in his true form, but he still has the same face more or less. Would it be such a stretch to imagine he could recognize Freeza's final form?

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
It's his last vision, as he's dying. He sees the vision, and understanding that his son will avenge him, yells out "Kakarrot!" as the Death Ball kills him along with the entire planet.Herms wrote:It's been awhile, but does Bardock say anything like "hey, that's Freeza and my son!" when he sees that vision of Goku confronting Freeza?Makaioshin wrote:But that would also be inaccurate as Bardock wouldn't be able to recognize Freeza in his true form.

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
The last vision seems to be more like a metaphor. The events aren't 100% but the meaning is. It MEANS Goku is going to fight Freeza. Sometimes clarevoyance comes in metaphors instead of actual facts.

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
If seeing his final form is such a concern, why don't we show scenes from the Kai intro where he shows all forms in a matter of seconds. Then, cut to a scene of him and Goku battling. That takes care of the whole confusion. Another way could be just showing Goku fighting with no clear vision of Freeza. It would make sense. Bardock's about to die... his vision probably isn't all that great.
