Mine is waay too easy. I was viewed as a "weirdo" for liking anime, comic books, and wrestling. "Why can't you like something normal" I was told. Aberration is something that deviates from the normal way. And I hadn't heard of the term otaku at the time.
That pretty much sums me up in a nutshell. In the real world I'm shunned for my love of anime, at anime cons I'm a god!!

1 Corinthians 13: When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Except the anime. Never the anime.

I actually have a little back story to mine.
When I was 12, my brother got really mad and kicked me in the eye. The next morning, it hurt like all hell and I wasn't seeing properly, so I went to the hospital to get my eye checked out. While I was there, the doctors gave me some Vicodin to alleviate the pain. When I opened the little package-thing they came in, the first thing that went through my mind was "Oh my god, these look like Mentos."
A few months later, my friends and I were joking about what certain foods would be like if they were spiked with drugs, and my little eye escapade came up in the conversation. Since we'd already sort of decided that the Oreos would have heroin in them, someone else decided that Mentos would have crack in them. We all had candy nicknames at the time (one of my very good friends was nicknamed Polo) and mine was Mentos, so I took it on as a username/rarely used nickname after that.

My favourite character's Piccolo, so I just went with "Piccolo Daimao". Pretty basic.

When I was a little kid, I made up a superhero named Laserkid. He used blue crystals embedded in wrist bands to shoot lasers at bad guys. It was probably inspired by Megaman, and ironically enough later on Dragon Ball (the laser blasts would match a kamehameha in look later in my drawing my own comics for this character in my mid teens).
All of my real life friends as a kid, as well as my family knew of my character, so when I first made an internet nickname on the nintendo.com messageboard "The Loudhouse" in late 1997, I chose Laserkid. That was my first forum, and I've kept the name since (though in emails I've had to use variants at times).

My name is the Latin word for Earth and the Japanese suffix for 'person', together it simply means Earthling. The reason I picked these words is that I'm into FreeSpace (the space combat game) and, well... Dragonball of course
it's a fusion of 'Terran' and Saiya-jin.
However it's also because I like the Roman and Japanese cultures, because to me they represent moving forward in the materialistic and spiritual sense, respectively. The Romans were so proud of their technological achievements and they built things just to show it - and the Japanese have the wildest imaginations (especially concerning the future) and that also holds a great appeal to me.
Basically, I like these cultures because they are so optimistic and hopeful in multiple ways. They probably have their shortcomings, of course, but at least they don't exist solely by the grace of profitability...

Well, it's been a while since I explained it, so I guess now's a better time than any. (Get some cookies and milk ready!)
Back in the day when AIM was all the rage here in Silicon Valley (I'm actually surprised people still use such a thing to chat, but whatev) I took on my first username of "GarPokmorf," combining my love for the Garfield comic, Pokemon and my latest obsession of the Animorphs. The only other place I remember using the name was on this one Calvin and Hobbes site that had a section where people would "play" Calvinball by posting up whatever rule they just made up and rolled with it. Crazy times.
After that, I tended to stay away from any other sort of internet community for a while. The only other handle I remember using after ol' GPM was juggleboy with some random numbers attached at the end for my eBay account, which I rarely used. And in case you couldn't already tell, I made that name when I was just getting into juggling. There was also "gotenson" for another of my emails, but it never really stuck for me. Shortly following that, I finally re-entered the realm of the internet and started blogging on tv.com under the username petewrigley after the old-school live action Nickelodeon series The Adventures of Pete and Pete. A year or so later, my lady friend at the time even made an account to match mine, taking the username of "ejhickle."
I was aware of the daizEX forums for some time, but the whole idea of communicating with other people online still seemed so bizarre to me, so I backed off, only communicating through VegettoEX's mail bag back in the day under my real name. When I finally decided to join here, I realized I had to have a username, and all my previous ones just weren't cutting it for me, so I finally decided on making a new one. I got DaemonCorps from the title of a season 2 Digimon episode titled (checks Wiki page) "Invasion of the Daemon Corps." For some reason, the name really stood out to me even after a couple years, so I figured I'd use that.
I go by DaemonCorps (or DC, as some people in the chat call me when desirecampbell isn't looking) in most places nowadays, and would have even used it for my gmail until I finally realized how to properly pronounce the first part of my username. So yeah, in the realm of the internets (at least in the realm not in relation to school), DaemonCorps is probably gonna be my default.

It's a long, semi-coherent story, but the short of it is that I've always loved mythology, so I took my name from the Greek god Hermes, and removed the second "e" just to personalize the name a little.

Well, technically I took my username from a cartoon character I made in grade school, who was named after Hermes.

my name is from ancient times, when we as little teenagers tried to made rap record and we invented for selves really cool nicknames..... so it was important to have MC before name, and my name is David and G is the first letter from my surname. Now I'm still making music, not rap or hip hop, under different name, but I'm keeping this MC DaveG on discussions just for fun

I use three names:
ToshiMustgrind - The name of my original character "Toshi Mustgrind".
Toshi was the name of my moms Akita when she was growing up and "Mustgrind" was my "cleverness" in combining the words Must and Grind together back when I was a skater.
Tenucha - Combined fusion name I had made up of Yamucha and Tien back when Bid For Power was still on its way. I usually use this name for conventions. I dont know why I didn't sign up on this site with it.
FlogginMcMurray - My heritage Irish name (McMurry) with my favourite Celtic rock band Flogging Molly. I had accidentally added an A in the name when I started using it...
I was trying to use this name for this site but my web browser submitted the information before I was done and then it came back saying my email is banned :-/

How I got my username, well, here's the tale:
My first username for anything regarding the Internet was DBZMaster. Simply because I loved DBZ to death when I was a kid. I changed it to SuperSaiyan3Goku because I wanted a name change after using my previous one for so long.
I chose SuperSaiyan3Goku simply for my love of Goku's Super Saiyan 3 form.

I don't know I guess I'm into Goku having a father and all that jazz.
