...yes, I agree. Plus a definitive release of Mobile Suit Gundam in the U.S. would be nice, especially since all we've had since 2001 are dub-only DVDs. I love them since they're apparently quite rare now and still watch them on occasion, but I've wanted a dual-language version for years. When the DVD sets came out in Japan back in 2006 and 2007, I was hoping that the U.S. would get the same release...nothing yet, though.
Ah, the Mobile Suit Gundam boxes and the Memorial Boxes - the Dragon Boxes of Gundam. Maybe someday, eh?
Yeah, I got those old Gundam Singles.
They're rare you say? Are they selling high or something?!
Bah, Bandai don't give a shit about Gundam, they'll just fuck over the old series so they can get to releasing the shitty new ones. We NEED Turn A! Plus the creator is a big of a fucking idiot, he doesn't want Sunrise or Bandai to please Gundam fans. And the reason they cut out one episode of the original Gundam series was because HE told them too.
He's seriously fucking insane.
Char Aznable wrote:I think what I'm looking forward to most though is the vocal themes - Unmei no Hi, Mind Power, if this is going to be a straight Dragon Box release then they'll all be there. I definitely can't wait for them on a U.S. DVD.
They were on the singles and Season sets too, just not the dub. And again, I wanna hear an
English Cha-La Head Cha-La!!!
Vic Mignogna's soothing voice and whacky lyrics would make the
watchability of the dub go up slightly.

At this point I really don't know what to say about this release. Honestly I loved the dubbed bgm of the Boo arc. The rest of the Faulcnor I could really care less for, but in my opinion, the dub with Faulcnor score is much better than the dub with origional score. Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT can pull it off, but not Z. I still haven't watched the entire series subbed so I'm looking forward to picking up my first Dragon Box since the season sets are nearly unviewable with the mono track. As for the movies, I definitely hope FUNi keeps the HARDCORE DEE BEE ZEE RAWK genre artists, such as Disturbed, and Drowning Pool, on them. I know most of you subbed-only fans may think I have no morals, but I'm entitled to my opinion, and that is my opinion.
FUNi, this very well be the last of my lunch money. After being bullied by you for years, I've been inclined to tell you to just take it. After this one though, I'm going to start buying my own lunch. No longer will I stand by eating the worms from the dirt while you take my hard earned cash and spending it all at the nearest strip joint. This better be the closest thing to a perfect DBZ release as possible.[/b]
Gohan: At least he doesn't have his sword out anymore.
Kuririn: Yeah, and your dad put his finger away too.

A friend of mine wanted to know where he could find the 0079 singles, so I set out to try and track some down - I was able to find scattered random volumes, such as Volumes 1 and 3 around the internet for cheap, but for some reason had trouble with others such as 2, 4, and the only listing for 8 on eBay right now is for over $100. It may just be the internet being stupid like always, but they certainly seem at least out of print, which may make them difficult to find now.
Were they on there? I thought there were licensing issues galore with them and they couldn't be put out at all. Ah well, I guess it was just the dub track. Sorry about that mild confusion, there.

$800 dollars is a lot of money, but when it's spread out over time, no it's not really. Look at it like this, how much money do you spend on toilet paper every year? A lot (hopefully), of course you're not going to drop $800 on toilet paper at once, you'll get what you need at the time because it's affordable and worth it in the long run.
Of course, you could argue that one needs toilet paper a little more than Season Sets or Dragon Box. But then again, after you get Dragon Box, it's possible to use the Season Sets as toilet paper.
Wait, what was I talking about? I'm too tired.

I'm hoping to make back at least more than half what I spent on the Season Shits by selling them on eBay.

For my drive to work today, I just had to listen to my DBZ Complete BGM collection. I can't wait!
Oh, and I wanna go on record saying that I love both the dub and the sub.

I'm kinda late on this; but, woah... Who would of thought that FUNimation would get the Dragon Box masters this year or anytime in the near future?
I'm personally stoked. I may be a Dub fan. But, I'm also a fan of the Original. Plus, I only bought, what, maybe 2 of the Season Sets? Just checked, 2. Season 3 and 6. So, I'm definitely buying the Dragon Boxes when they come out. If they were to release both DB and GT too, I'd buy those to. Even if I have about 10 of the GT singles and both GT Season Sets.
So, now instead of getting the other Season Sets and to wait for this to come out. I'm gonna go Pre-Order Pokémon Soul Silver (in Japanese).
Not right this minute, but soon.

I really hope Target is gonna sell this. I can price-match what Wal-Mart or whomever has the cheapest price and get my employee discount.

A nonsensical dub/sub debate (they're
both going to be on there, for pete's sake, and there's been no word on them leaving out the dub score).

So, I've found my own little way to celebrate this.
It's July now and the new campus rec center opened up with a room specifically for things like martial arts and, if anyone here knows my hobbies outside of Dragonball, people know that I'm into martial arts and staying in decent general shape.
Well, in the spirit of a Z-Senshi training their ass off for 20 episodes or so before doing anything worthwhile, I'm going to train very hard to get into my old prime shape from 4 years ago. By the time November comes around and these sets come out, I'm gonna look like a freakin' martial artist version of a Bowflex commercial.
Wish me luck!

There's really no reason to leave in the dub score either, this isn't for dubbies or casuals. >_> And I'm not gonna stop saying that, It's VERY unlikely they're gonna stick with their custom score.

Still, all this arguing seems pointless when Funi hasn't said anything one way or the other about the dub score (as far as I know). And somehow people have gotten to talking about the Japanese voices vs. the Funi ones, when we know both will be on the set.

I'll buy these sets, and while I'm not sure on the next time I'll watch my season sets...I can't be mad, even if I'm buying the last 3 season sets as I buy the DBox. So, I'll twist one of Dub Freeza's lines to show my appreciation:
You are certainly on the ball this time, Funimation. If you were a dog I'd scratch your belly. If you were a cat I'd give you warm milk, until you started to purr. But since you are neither of these, I'll just say thanks for a job well done.
I think I'll be buying assorted Dragon Ball things for the rest of my life.
