Live Action Movie Thread

I was just thinking about the movie Piccolo.

It seems that they have actually combined Piccolo Daimao, Piccolo Jr., Garlic, Garlic Jr, and Pilaf, all into one character. Think about it.

I'm simply going to assume that's pure coincidence. It really would be quite a treat if the team behind the story did think it through like that though.

Now that I've thought about it, I'm actually more excited for the DVD release of the film, as opposed to it's big screen premiere. hopefully the extras, and special features will give fans a lot to chew on.

At the very least, he comes across to me like a combination of Kami, Daimao, and Junior. Kami's origins, adjusted to become Daimao in role and attitude, but with Junior's opening for future redemption. If so, THAT was probably intentional, point being to keep it simpler.

And yeah, another good shot of his costume. Looks hardcore.

What is there to think about? Dragonball demons all looked the same; ugly and bald with pointy ears. That's why everyone thought Piccolo Daimao was a demon instead of an alien. It immediately explains the why Piccolo in this movie seems more like a demon than an alien; he's clearly modeled after Piccolo Daimao instead of Piccolo Jr.

Also in the movie Mutaito and the monks probably didn't know he was a Namek so they though he was... a demon ?

Nope. Movie posters edited to seem like animation (don't know why since it's live action), music stolen from Requiem for a Dream, and the rest is taken from Transformers and Dragon Wars.

They are both fake. Real trailers don't use promotional stills.

No, the second one is really really good, but is fan-made. The first one just pulled footage from that one and from the recent movie, Dragon Wars.

Except Piccolo Daimao was a demon. A demon born from the evil in the heart of a being who later turned out to be an alien, but a demon all the same. Nobody thought Kami was a demon, even though he shares Piccolo's appearence.

Here's my piccolo character description based on info we know. I made it sound a little more epic,but the facts are still the same.

Piccolo is the ancient leader of a demonic race. He once tried to destroy the world 2,000 years ago but failed. Now, after being unleashed after 2,000 years in a jar from the Ma Fu Ba, he's determined to do the job right this time and enslave and kill all life on earth.

Enslaving and killing? What's the point in having dead slaves? Killing the guys that do your bidding is pretty Freeza/Babidi-ish.

Does anyone else find the choice of "2,000 years ago" to be rather interesting? I keep thinking they're going to have Jesus be the one who sealed Piccolo away or something.

Well, that is how Daimao was in the series. His plot is to take over the world, then blow it up piece by piece.

Where the hell is he gonna go after he destroys the Earth? Does he even have the power to destroy the Earth?

Well, he has the power to destroy cities, and his plan was to destroy one of the Earth's 43 regions each year, by using his powers to just blow up everything in that region. So he'd wipe out everything on the surface of the Earth, but he wouldn't destroy it Freeza or Buu style, where the planet simply doesn't exist anymore. So I guess after that he just planned on hanging out in the charred ruins, playing solitaire of God knows what.
