It's the first BOG product I've seen that's just had that part of the "super saiyajin god" title on it, and it does have that silhouette right next to it (though I guess on the actual product itself it'll show the form.)

As for how early I could wake up on Tuesday...I do see the point and importance of getting a good night's sleep. What it'll really come down to is what time I can get back home the night before. I'm lucky enough to be off on the 12th as it is, I just don't wanna sleep through it all, you know?
I'd be one thing if I was stuck away from my computer or phone, it's another to be there and be sleeping through it.

I mean, we still don't know if the people who get to see it on the 12th will be allowed to disclose what they saw (though I'd be somewhat surprised if Toei made them promise not to spoiler) so I'm not sure.

That'd be great if it was an animanga (never thought I'd say that ). Then I could "see" the film before it gets released on DVD here.

On second thought, that would ruin the fun of watching it...so never mind.

I had this though about Gohan being drunk...wouldn't he only be nineteen in this movie (as we theorized). That means the Dragon Ball world's drinking age (or at least West City's) is probably eighteen. Isn't Japan's twenty?

Nothing happened. Nobody brought it up. The cover here from a couple pages back:

See how it's first-person singular capitalization and with no specification (well, the silhouette's there) that it refers to a super saiyajin god, not just "GOD" like the cover reads.

It doesn't bother me, but it's possible it'd bother someone who doesn't know what DB is.

There's also the coincidence in timing; 3/30 is the day right before Easter this year.

I don't think it'll be an issue though, honestly. One of those "Lightning Thief" books has "Gods" in the title.

Lightning Thief books? O.o. You mean the Percy Jackson series? None of them have "Gods" in the title. Unless you mean something else entirely.

Also don't U.S. comics like Marvel and DC bring in stuff with gods on occasion? Like, aren't Thor and Loki supposed to be gods or something like that?

I really don't think DB is high enough in public consciousness in the U.S. atm for it to catch any easily-offended eyes. If this were like..13, 14 years ago I'd say yeah, but now? I don't think it'll make any bad waves once it comes over here.

I mean, the Madoka movies played in a whole bunch of theaters across the U.S. earlier last year and she becomes a goddess at the end.

BTW. Bulma's actress Hiromi Tsuru will be voicing Goddess Pallas in new arc of Saint Seiya Omega, so I'm maybe more excited than about this movie!

You know, with only 2 days to go, this really feels all "calm before the storm". I don't think any new info aside from those screenshots earlier in the week has appeared and I wouldn't be surprised if Monday's Weekly Jump only has general non-spoilery info too.

Still bothered by the lack of Kaioshin but I can't help but feel that there might be a reason for this. He was mentioned in the first Chozenshuu (in relation to BOG) after all.

The movie starts at 6:30pm in Japan and should let out a little bit before 8pm.
The opening ceremonies with the special guests happen at 6pm.

For me, that's 5:30am and 7am. XD

While I agree that Dragon Ball was never about actual battle powers... but saying that Dragon Ball has more to do with friendship than fighting (if that's what you are trying to imply) is laughable.

A preview screening for the new movie in several different locations across Japan. Several cast members will greet the audience in Tokyo, and that will also be beamed to the other venues.

There is also another one, called Tenka'ichi Shishakai ("The World's Greatest Preview Screening"), being held on 16 March at DIFFER Ariake in Tokyo.
