Yeah, but I can't imagine them matching other online prices in store. An interviewer asks, "The soundtrack in Sonic 3 has become legendary. Is it true that you worked with Michael Jackson on it?" Takashi Iizuka kills all of our hopes and dreams by replying, "You know, those are just rumors, and SEGA does not want to say anything about them. So they will forever be just rumors..." WHY!?

I also found this on their site, also:MajinVejitaXV wrote:Just a quick heads up, if you or anyone else runs into this, since Target has the box up for what is basically Amazon's price, you could have Best Buy do a price match and walk away with the same deal.Hujio wrote:However, I wasn't willing to pay almost full price, so I'll still be waiting for the 17th when my pre-ordered copy from Amazon arrives, which was still cheaper with rushed shipping than it would be at Best Buy.
Dammit, I might actually go out now and check, you tempting bastards...

Does anyone know why these stores are getting these early other than that they're getting them from Rightstuf? I've never seen them do this before.

I'm guessing it's because the stores either forgot or weren't informed of the release date change.ShadowDude112 wrote:Does anyone know why these stores are getting these early other than that they're getting them from Rightstuf? I've never seen them do this before.

Yes, on BESTBUY.COM, not the physical store. I used to work in Circuit City. Whenever we had to price match something, it was always proved by a print out from the web site. Realistically, how else would you provide proof for a price match?MajinVejitaXV wrote:Keep in mind that I won't be buying online, I'll be walking into their brick and mortar store. I should mention, again I guess, that I've never had an issue. I'm not saying they haven't mistakenly flubbed the policy before, but I've taken in online pricing from brick and mortar stores (Target, Walmart, etc.) and gotten price matches without any hassle for the past several years. This might be a mistake on their part, it might be because I'm on good terms with the staff at stores I frequent or it may be that they decide not to invest too much time (especially since I've purchased stuff through them like computer equipment and home theatre systems, making a DVD price match a fairly small thing).DBZfan29 wrote:I also found this on their site, also:

In any case, it was merely a suggestion. YMMV, as with all things in life ;p

Who says I can't be dirty and edit the "online only" part out? They don't actually check.DBZfan29 wrote:I posted again with more proof. Well, I wouldn't suggest actually doing something like that. In all honesty, it's fairly likely that they won't even read the 'This item is available online, but is not available in stores' blurb.Jon Jon wrote:Who says I can't be dirty and edit the "online only" part out? They don't actually check.

It's true. The workers don't care. I know I didn't and I know the people that worked in customer service didn't either.MajinVejitaXV wrote:Well, I wouldn't suggest actually doing something like that. True. I know part of most price matching (including Best Buy's policy) is that a local store must be verified as carrying the item at that price. In 7 years, I've never had the stores I frequent call to verify stock.Jon Jon wrote:It's true. The workers don't care. Now, I'm sure if I brought in an Amazon.com printout or something the online pricing would be declined outright.

I found something I really don't like about this set.
The overlapping. I thought I'd be ready for it, and at first, I didn't think anything of it. I go to get out disc 3, but pull out disc 2 first, and pop disc 3 in computer. The problem, is when I go to put disc 2 in the spot where 3 was, it gets stuck on the spindle thing from where disc 2 came from!
It's complicated overlapping. You have to place the disc on the bottom under the spindle of the one on top.
Caught my ass by surprise, at least.

The season sets are like this too, and I fucking hate it. >:C(nathantheguitarist wrote:I found something I really don't like about this set.

HELP! Sorta...
I bought the set not too long ago @ bestbuy thanks to you lovely forum people. However I have a problem.
When I'm watching this on my surround sound, my receiver indicates the channel is only coming from the center speaker even when on auto. When I usually watch the FUNi DVD's, even though its mono, its 2 channell mono and my surround sound indicates this showing the "L" and "R" for the left and right speakers and the audio comes out of both. But for some reason it only indicates the center speaker and thats all the audio comes from. Is this set a two channel mono or just a single? Because I never had this issue with the FUNi DVDs.
I'm using my PS3 to play the DVD, not that it might make a difference.

DBZfan29 wrote:Yes... no... I mean it is technically the cheapest price. It was released today on Target's online store (I guess they never got the memo that the release date was changed). The set, for whatever reason, is only available online and not in stores. I followed up on my (not stupid) call to Target and asked if it was in stock: The employee's reply was no because they don't get all anime titles. Target doesn't have the biggest electronics section, so I can understand (I remember the GT season sets never being available there, too). Anyway, with shipping and everything else included, Amazon is the best place to buy online. Wal-mart is the cheapest in-store place, selling the Dragon Box for $67.Chuquita wrote:Does this mean the cheapest place to order the DBox from would be Target?
So it is Amazon that's cheapest. In that case, I'm gonna try to (hopefully) preorder it sometime this week; as I've found the prices on Amazon jump up after an item's released.
Normally I'm not so tight on getting the cheapest price, but $79.98 is expensive; I'd rather get it for Amazon's $47.99 if I can.
On hiatus.

Yeah unless I have a defective copy which I doubt, there's no way this set is 2 channel mono. Because my surround sound has never done this. I might pop in a FUNi DVD just to be certain but I only get sound out of the center speaker when normally its two. Its decoding this disc as one channel mono.
EDIT: Just checked the display while playing the disc and it says "Dolby Digital 1 Ch. 48khz 96kbps."
Did I get jipped or something? Is it just the first disc that was encoded in 1 channel mono? Or should I go back to bestbuy tomm?

.....Wow.
I'm through Piccolo's death and Goku's arrival, and I can't remember ever feeling so emotionally attached to what was going on. The music was just so powerful.
It's parts of the series like this that make me wonder if the people who swear by the dub voices and music need to have their heads examined. The Dragon Box is definitely going to be my pick for best anime purchase of the year. The picture during action scenes is superb. Everything is so clear, and the colors so smooth.

I fully agree man, I also made this "Pick of the Year" or something like that I think it was "WolfClawStudios DBZ Pick of 2009" and gave it a 10/10. And Kikuchi's score FTW!G1Ravage wrote:.....Wow.
