If we're just going to talk about our everyday lives, this thread clearly no longer serves any purpose, and is a testament to the fact that people THINK they want to talk about the live-action movie, but after a period of time, don't REALLY want to do so.

So that new photo of Piccolo looks as though he has protruding antennae. Then again, I could be looking at it too closely, and just seeing what i want to see. Argh, that scan just had to be black and white didn't it?

The antennae are sure a positive step in the Piccolo design, if they now exist. Which in that case would make me happier:D .

By the way, anyone else thinks that it would be wiser to make Goku go to a Martial Arts school, where he got to befriend Chi Chi, Yamcha ect. ?
Instead of a High School?

Lots of people are found going in and out of a Martial Arts school, so even the mean bandit trainer Yamcha can be found there.
And when King Piccolo comes, he wants to kill all Martial Artists toprevent to be sealed with Mafuba again, so he finds the school and fights people and sends his demons.

Which scan would this be?, the only images I've seen thus far are one from the trailer, and one that is side on, both are colour.

Not to dredge up the issue of Piccolo's live-action appearance again, but was that quote from someone purporting to be in on the movie that said the changes were made to avoid Middle-Eastern stereotypes ever confirmed as being authentic?

And if it was, I just realized something. They wanted to change Piccolo's vaguely Middle Eastern appearance to avoid "negatice racial overtones".

So they made him a yellow man with pointy ears and claws.

Brilliant, just brilliant.

I hope not. That would be silly. How many green Middle Eastern folk do you know with antennae? If we're talking about Ma Junior, all they had to do was ditch the headgear.

I really hate the costume design for Piccolo, I'm sort of in the middle with Goku's gi, but at least they're referencing the original material, as for Piccolo, they've just given him the most generic outfit possible.

I think Goku was a step in the right direction, but so far Piccolo looks like two steps backwards into the "I'm your basic Hollywood hack, watch me ignore the source material, because we think we know what people want to see" territory.

I don't want to see yet another bad guy in a generic leather outfit.

I'm not that found of the outfit from what I've seen either, but maybe it is cooler on the big screen.
Also, we don't know if it's his full outfit yet, or do we?
Otherwise, I think Piccolo's outfit is like Wolverine's in X-men, where they ignored the yellow suit and black mask.

That would be VERY acceptable. Ugh..FOX would probably still be obliged to create original characters for the film in any case though.

Hey what about those super-early photos we had of a classroom-sized number of people dressed in kame gi's? Anyone ever learn what scene those were from?

Maybe those are flashbacks to the Mutaito school stuff that may or may not appear in the film.
