What Herms said.Herms wrote:I don't see what's so serious about saying that an upcoming movie looks to be rather bad based on the information so far revealed. I think the main problem with these threads is that some people are acting as if this movie were their own child or something.SSj Kaboom wrote:To coin a phrase,"why so serious?"

Or this guy?JAPPO wrote:I love how you all eat the shit that Toei and FUNimation make.
Making a remastered DVD costs what? How much does the packaging cost? And you paid what, 40 dollars for it?
Yet you think you won't pay 10 dollars to see a $100 million dollar live-action movie adaptation supported by a major movie studio?

I’m sure I could dig up a whole bunch more examples were I to devote some actual time and effort into it. But my point is simply that I think that the venom is plenty equal on both sides. So don’t nobody start putting any tinfoil halos over their particular faction’s heads. Pretty much both sides of the argument (both on this site and elsewhere) have been acting like jackasses in equal doses at one point or another.

Zephyr wrote:And that's to say nothing of how pretty much impossible it is to capture what made the original run of the series so great. I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Guys this trailer got me pumped up and it's only fan made. Sorry I know I posted it before but damn

Yeah, like I've said, there's plenty of bad eggs on both "sides." But when I said that line you quoted, I wasn't just referring to DaizEX. I keep up on fan feedback on several other locales o'er the rest of the internet, and let me tell you, some of the "comments" about the whole thing get downright nasty. There's words and insults and threats spewed constantly that make even the most heated "discussions" on DaizEX look like teatime at Buckingham palace by comparison, and to tell the honest truth, the majority of it is quite sadly from the "anti-" side. If you ask me, that maybe just stems from the very difference in definition of being "pro-" or "anti-" anything. One is just far more likely than the other to have bad or derogatory things to say, both about the topic itself and those on the opposing "side."Kunzait_83 wrote:And not to stoke the fires of hell or anything, but I do take exception to this bit;

@Jappo: That wasn't bad, certainly a better use of the materials than what the actual promo is. But it felt like the pace of it suddenly jumped up way too quick without enough proper buildup.
That reminds me of another small point. Let's remember that this very much likely isn't the official trailer or teaser. This was the promo shown at the licensing expo; if I'm correct about the purpose of such a thing, it wasn't created with the intention of wowing the audiences or fans. It was made to attract attention from companies and draw in business and merchandising rights and such. We likely weren't ever meant to see this. Perhaps we're too curious about this movie for our own good.
