I may not have been active on the forum for long, but I do have a long love of the series, and try to help when I can.

Is anyone else growing more excited for tomorrow's episode? I can't wait to hear the voices in full action.

FUNimation... you keep doing awesome things that make me think you really care about the dub this time... the new Freeza is Amazing... But... Why the HELL IS JHEESE STILL A F^#%!NG AUSSIE!?!??!?!

The Dubbies are still pissed at you For changing Freeza, so if you're trying to please them... uugh...

I just hope, to all that is good and just, that Jheese doesn't have an extremely out of place accent on the DVD and BD release.

I've only heard Jheese yell his name; is there a clip of him talking?

Wow!! I didn't know Chris Sabat kept his role as Recoom. Vic Mignogna (Broli) just reprised Burta, Jason Liebricht as Jhees, Greg Ayres takes Bill Townsley's role as Ghurd, and Brice Armstrong steeped off to R. Bruce Elliott as Ginyu.

Aren't Sabat, Mignogna, Liebricht, Ayres, and Elliott gonna be voiced in Raging Blast 2 or just Sabat, Townsley, and Armstrong (Orange Bricks)?

Yeah, I prefer Jheese have whatever accent that he use the Japanese version.

Ugh. I want to like this dub, I really do, good Goku, great Freeza, great Gohan. But shit like this, "I hate the media" and "Tri-Beam" still hold me back. Really? Still a retarded Reacoom? Still an Aussie Jheese? The song kinda' blew too. "Ginyu Force" being kept is another blow to the balls for me (I know people will say I'm nitpicking there, but it's small things like that which irritate me even more).
It seems every time this dub does something great, it also takes a few steps back.

Yep FUNi always does something to screw up Dragon Ball, they always have, but Kai's dub is the best dub we've gotten of any DB series. I'm glad that Jeice is still Aussie as I thought that was so funny in the first place. I do agree about Recoome, but at least it's not as bad as it was, but still if he was going for Austrian then Sabat should have given Schemmel Recoome, and kept Jeice as Schemmel does a better Austrian accent as seen in that one interview video FUNi put up. As far as I hate the media goes I think it was a nod to TFS' version of that scene, and Tri-Beam, T.ien, and others couldn't be changed as FUNi has the copyrights to that and not the original names, so FUNi could do nothing about that.

I think they're doing a good job. It's not everything I ever wanted in my life and more, but it's a TV show for kids. If I feel like giving myself a pat on the back for being super hardcore, I'll go watch the Dragon Box or something and congratulate myself for watching Garlic Jr. episodes or something. If I don't want to be quite as hardcore but I still need a shot of pretentious glory to get me through my day, I'll put the Kai Season 1 Part 1 Blu-ray in and set it to Japanese.

For Nicktoons, I'll have a fun time, smile at what they got right, laugh at the chocolate milk "blood," roll my eyes at what they got wrong, and get on with the rest of my life when the episode ends. After all, it could very easily be so much worse. I can't stand the Z dub, but this Kai dub isn't half-bad.

I'm not saying Japanese version fans are pretentious. It was a joke.

I love Aussie Jheese, as I've stated before. It spices things up a bit, and it's really funny.

I finally got around to watching last night's episode. Since that only had a few small, barely-there lines from the Ginyu Force, and none of tonight's episodes clips on the NickToons site are working for me... I guess I'm withholding judgment until I see tonight's episode. It's kinda like when the new Freeza premiered on a Thursday with only ONE line and everyone was on pins and needles all weekend.

From what you guys are saying though, I'm both concerned and relieved. I don't prefer Aussie-Jheese, but I can live with it. Especially if, like I think someone said, it's a more toned-down and natural-sounding accent than the overblown and badly-imitated fake one from before. The clincher for the group as a whole is, of course, Reacoom. His one line sounded disappointingly similar to his old voice. But if he ends up being relaxed to just sound like a goofy, over-muscled chunkhead (which... he is!) rather than a full-blown retard, I'll be happy.

Just to remind everyone, Brice Armstrong has retired from voice acting. Recasting Commander Ginyu was going to happen one way or another.

Anyone else thinking that the Ginyu Force is only going to be used in the TV Broadcast? I still haven't heard enough of them to really make any remarks..Gurd sounds great though.

I'm pretty sure that beyond attack names and censorship issues, everything else we've seen and heard on TV is going to be exactly the same on DVD and Blu-ray.

I heard about that too, and I'm honestly not surprised. He's a pretty old guy, from what I saw of him in DBZ: Behind The Screams. Even if he didn't retire, I doubt he would have been able to handle all the screaming and other fighting noises, because when he redubbed Dale Kelly's stuff for Season 3, Dale Kelly's screams were still kept.

Wow I'm surprised there is this much hate for Aussie Jheese. I never knew people disliked that voice so.

So there is going to be 1 new episode every Wednesday and Thursday from now on right?

Edit: I loved Brice's Ginyu but I am REALLY enjoying this GInyu too.

They don't, just like how Chris's Freeza only somewhat sounds superficially like Newstone at best. His acting and delivery is about as completely different from Young and Newstone as it gets. He is pretty much a completely new take on Freeza, an accurate one at that.
