Movie wise, I wonder how they will top OP Film Z.
If it's any consolation it probably won't top F's sales in the U.S. and Mexico. I can't imagine Funi doing big theater releases for it the way they did F either. One Piece just doesn't have that built-in nostalgia factor in the U.S. the way Dragon Ball does.

One thing I do look forward to in the next OP movie is getting to have the entire Strawhat crew together.
On hiatus.

Gotta say that although I am indeed thrilled at the prospect of giving everyone more fighting time this time in DBSuper when compared to BoG, the way Beerus KO's Piccolo with two masterfully-applied pressure-point attacks with the chopsticks was badass; it's also about how quick it was. We're not going to get that in the episode's version of it, though. I must confess I am rather curious and hyped to see just how each one of the ones fearless enough to charge Beerus will be put out of commission this time around. Judging by last week(end)'s episode preview, I'd say Piccolo, #18 and Tenshinhan won't land a single hit on Beerus and will get KO'd in a matter of seconds, while both Gotenks and Ultimate Gohan will have much more fighting time. Vegeta will obviously be the "star" among the team for the entirety of the episode, or at least more than half of it, especially after the "infamous" "mutation".

Can't wait. 17 minutes to go.

I'm starting to think ROF is just a sub-plot of the U6 arc. Goku and Vegeta training in Beerus' homeworld could be them prepping to go to U6..

Sorry, but can't say anything besides that I find this pathetic. TOEI needs to realize that DB is global famous

OP > DB in Japan? Okay but... DB >>>>>> OP worldwide

If they use the logical sense they could make a lot of money putting much more effort in DBS episodes instead of focusing in anime that it is just popular in Japan because 4Kids screw the fuck up here
The Japanese market always comes first to anime since that's where most of their money comes from. Toei does not get every penny from overseas since most of the money in the US goes to Funimation and Toei gets whatever is left over. It's no different here since not every TV show and movie in the US gets every money from overseas. The Golden Compass was a box office failure and New Line didn't get every money from the overseas market since the movie was big in Asia countries like in Japan, Korea and China. The US is the central country of the world you know. Not to mention American animated shows like Transformers has a big fandom in Japan, but I'm pretty sure Hasbro mainly puts more focus on the US market since that's their main market is at.

In a business stand point of view, focusing on what gets made in the home country matters first.

But American movies nowadays can make most of its money back just from China.

Yeah, that's possible.
I am not going to bother worrying about the visual quality of episodes that aren't even going to air until next year.
And you're right, as the tv series that suffers the most with an One Piece movie will be...One Piece itself.
Not enough reason for overreactions, Toei is always producing some sort of movie. I doubt any main staffer will leave Super so early, as they probably wouldn't even be selected for this job otherwise.

They can be view as failures if they bomb in the US. Golden Compass was view as a box office failure despite being a big hit overseas as I mention before. Movies need to meet expectations at the United States box office first before counting money from overseas. Pacific Rim is lucky enough to get a sequel.

Not really. Movies on the level of Strong World & Z have different resources from those of the anime.

Hopefully it's not just Vegeta and Goku who're going to U6, they need to make Gohan a badass again and take that dude with them.

Now that we have an idea about how long the 1st 2 arcs are,how long do you think the u6 arc and whatever other arcs after it will be ? 50+ episodes like DB/Z or 12-15 like BOG&RF ?

I thought he'd have a bigger role in this due to it being a series but after today's episode I'm convinced that'll never happen.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

The way they're treating him BOTH as a warrior and as a character in DBSuper (and indeed in any Movies/Specials thrown our way in recent years), I wouldn't really count on that, pal. Just read the other threads on the subject.

-About the blu-ray releases-
I never been interested in them, but seeing how Super quality is turning out, I'm curious to see how much (if at all) will improve it.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

Fix it like it's no tomorrow.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Dragon Ball is Toei's biggest seller in countries outside of Japan, they will definitely improve it for the Blu-Ray versions since that is what the rest of the world will get.

The blu-ray version of Super will also likely be the one that will air on Toonami too.

What I mean is that the version that countries outside of Japne are given to dub from Toei will almost definitely be the Blu-Ray version, I don't think the Japanese broadcast version will be used for any dub, except maybe in small countries.
With the first Blu-Ray coming at the beginning of December it will be interesting to see when Dubs start, I could totally see them start airing the English dub on December 26th and advertise it on Toonami as a holiday gift, or on January 2nd and advertise it as "Ushering in the new year with new Dragon Ball."

If they will fix the quality later, seems like its obvious why Toei doesn't let anyone stream this then.

They are only fixing the Blu-rays and not the DVD releases?

PS5: Dynamixx88

The DVDs will be the exact same as the Blu-rays, just at a lower resolution. Well, barring some color/brightness mishaps that could happen during encoding. I'm think Kai had that problem a couple times.

Yes, because it's not theirs to stream.
