It started when I wondered if Broly making it as high as he did as a result of their opinions being secondary to impact, since I know everyone at TFS dislikes Broly. It made me realize, but it's far from bitching about anything. Mainly confusion, followed by realization, followed by realizing that maybe their criteria might be a little flawed if a villain they hate can make it so high. If I'm wrong, and the Broly hate is greatly exaggerated for comedic effect, I'd surely like to know.

How so? An evil tyrant that had ruled the universe by fear for decades, feared and mentioned by many in the present day is a less interesting version of Vegeta? I mean, the latter dreamed to be in the same place as Freeza, as the absolute ruler of the universe.

If you ask me what I would prefer an OVA that tell the story of Vegeta childhood or the story of how Freeza came up, enslaved people, decimated planets to sell them, allied with the Saiyans and built his own army, well maybe you and I have different tastes of what we both find interesting.

No he didn't, that's a sloppy retcon. As presented in his own arc, he was the most powerful being in the universe, the undisputed most powerful fighter of the most powerful warrior race, who only wanted for one thing: immortality, so he could enjoy an eternity of violence.

For Freeza, Toriyama basically copy-pasted Vegeta's role, personality, backstory, and even some of his fight choreography, then just added a higher power level and flashy but completely pointless transformations and hoped no one would notice. Freeza is the most powerful being in the universe and leader of the planet trade... because he's Freeza. And this is coming after Vegeta was supposed to be strongest in the universe and leader of the planet trade, the most gifted member of the strongest warrior race. Suddenly, there's a guy who's literally thousands of times stronger than that, because... he... just kinda is. And he's also referred to as nobility, and he's also petty and lazy as hell, and he's also incredibly sadistic, and he also goes into drama queen mode the second someone causes him pain, and he also has a scene with Goku where he scoffs at the idea of hard work mattering next to birth right, and he also has Kaio being scared of him and warning Goku that he might not win against him, and he also has henchmen who act and dress the same way as Vegeta's, and he also tries to ragequit by blowing up the planet... the list goes on.
