Guys its one voice out of 10 options for a created character. I've only watched bits and pieces of abridged (and I can't say I care for it at all despite some of my friends saying how great it is), but this is nothing more than a cameo and a pretty self-aware, fairly neat one at that. I don't see why anyone would get mad at it.

I don't know, being on good terms with several members of the dub cast is a legitimate connection in my eyes. Plus, when the dub started, most of the Funi cast had no connection whatsoever with the franchise. Hell, how many voice actors of the original Japanese release had a "legitimate connection" with the freanchise?

Gotta start somewhere, and they've been closer to it than some.

I once again find myself questioning why so many people can't just look at something they don't like, say 'well that's not for me', and move on. In this case it would be as simple as going 'well, I don't really want to use that voice for my custom character, so I won't', and being done with it. Don't want to hear others use it? Play it with Japanese audio! Want to play it in English but not hear that voice? Either don't play against people who do use the voice, or just mute it briefly. Simple as that! Would that really be so hard?

Venting my spleen at that kind of attitude aside, I to have slight reservations about the voice, but only just slight ones. 1) I know just about EVERYONE in the casual fandom is gonna use that voice for their characters, so it's gonna get pretty old pretty fast. And 2) it's only going to rile up the old 'why can't TFS be the official cast for the whole thing' arguments again probably. But again, all of that is incidental, I'll deal with it in my own way as it comes up, and I bear no umbridge with Takahata nor TFS for it either cuz it's not something in their control to begin with.

Case in point: This is just one voice out of many. Rather than complaining about it being there if you don't like it, wouldn't it be easier on yourself and everyone else to just move on from it? Besides, think about it this way. Takahata is a longtime fan of the franchise (I'm assuming, at any rate - never have talked to him personally, but I'd assume everyone at TFS is a fan) who just got to do something 'official'. That's pretty darned cool for him. Huzzah!

People are legitimately angry and tossing hate because a fan who works on a project out of love for the series has gotten a chance to actually be a part of the series he loves so much (Not even in the main series. One of 10 options for a PLAYER CREATED CHARACTER in a VIDEO GAME).

That's so incredibly disgusting that I can't even wrap my mind around it. I mean, I know this fanbase can be petty sometimes but that's a new low. Holy shit.

I've been watching GT recently (today) and I decided to check some SSJ4 Goku out & I realized those 3 punches Goku uses to start his combos off is actually in the anime! Lol when he first transforms and goes on the offensive against Bebi he uses those punches over and over....this is a well thought out game. I just hope they patch the SSJ hairstyles after the last DLC is released. That'd be awesome.

I have zero problems with Takahata101 or any of the English custom character voices. If it leads to Abridged fans actually supporting an official product, then I'll all for it.

I think having Takahata101, doing the Nappa voice, and purposely messing with every name of the attacks, has pushed Xenoverse over the edge from an 8-10, and cranked up to 11. It's there just for $hits and giggles. And he's so great at it, you can't help but laugh and appreciate it. And you can appreciate that companies do look even to fans for talent. Taka gets hearty congrats here. Everything he did there was hilarious. And we are going to quote everything he says.

I can almost picture a scene of the CaC fighting Nappa, and the CaC is made to look like Nappa, and having a wondrous conversation about how the other guy looks and sounds like the other.
