Which scene in DB/Z/GT is the most brutal? I think Spopovich beating up Videl was quite brutal, and the anime made it even worse by having Videl crying.

I hate you for reminding me of that scene.

Aside from that, I have to say Freeza putting the royal smackdown on Vegeta was one of the sickest beatdowns I've seen in anything.

Yeah, Freeza beating up on Vegeta was borderline torture.

I think the saddest thing of all about that scene, was that Vegeta didn't change one bit. I mean, I know Toriyama's original plans had changed and all, but still, it's like "You weren't emotionally effected one bit by the ass kicking he gave you? Were those tears not real?". Frustrating as hell, I say, and one of the defining reasons I can't stand Vegeta.

And as for Spopovitch, let's just say I've written COUNTLESS "alternate endings" for him, as opposed to Babidi blowing him up. All of them, of course, involving Gohan going downright fucking postal on his ass and making what Spopobitch did to Videl look like a 3 year old's tea party.

(Believe me, if I were an animator back in those days, THAT would be the scene you folks would be naming in this thread.)

For me, definately Freeza beating the living shit out of Vegeta.

When I first saw Spopovitch beating up Videl - I was like "serves you right, Videl for refusing to quit".

I wonder why Gohan didn't beat down on him then. If I was him, I would've gone Super Saiyan on his ass - but he probably didn't want to kill him.

No no, I'm pretty sure he wanted to straight up murder his ass. (Look at his facial expressions during that segment. Cold. Blooded. Killer.)

But, he had to take care of Videl first. Her health was a bigger priority to Gohan than showing the entire crowd what a steroid infused spine looked like.

Yeah, he had no time...seeing as his battle with Kibito was up next. I'm pretty sure he would've torn his ass down the next time he got a chance.

I'd have to say Spopovitch beating up Videl was worst as well...I love that episode!

I disagree. I think he changed.

After those events in namek he stayed at earth living with earthlings he had fought before and he didn`t try to kill anybody.

Vegeta from the sayan arc would just kill them all I think (especially since freeza and goku were dead or so they thought).

He was no longer just a coldblooded conqueror. He was a warrior full of pride (with not many morals still) whose aim in life was to defeat Goku (even allowing his friends to use the dragon balls to bring him to life before discovering he was alive).

As for the most brutal beating, I think it was Freeza VS Vegeta.

That's a horrifying mental image, but posts like this are another great reminded that DBZ actually has some very good characters.

Cell's absorption scenes shocked me as a kid, and when he absorbs the Androids, those scenes still look freaky.

That's a spine, watched from above. The white thing you see is the spinal cord with the vertebra surrounding it. It's a cervical vertebra, located in the neck probably. And it's probably the same part that Videl broke in her fight against Spopovitch.

Yeah, Videl vs. Spopowitch and Vegeta vs. Freezer are equal in my eyes.
People seem to react because of that she is a girl. I mean, she BROKE a guy's neck!
I see them both as martial artists in a fight.

I still think Vegeta getting a beating from Freeza was down right brutal and cruel. Then when Vegeta was laying their dying Freeza shot him through the chest with that beam. *cringes*
Although the Videl scene was harsh, She survived.

I was actually shocked by the scene where Yakon eats some of Babidi's henchman. It was mostly concealed by Yakon being in a dark corridor, but I couldn't believe the very idea of a monster eating people alive even being IMPLIED in a kid's show back in the day.
