Character Apperance Changes: Good and Bad

Indulging our superficial side for a moment, I'm sure I'm not th eonly one who found certain changes in how our fave chracters looked unappealing.

For starters, Bulma's hair as of the Trunks Saga. What is it? Some kind of afro?
And that's ignoring Vegeta's pink shirt. I guess it has some sort of charm to some people.

However the worst change in apperance for me was Future Trunks once he came out of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber/Room of Spirit and Time. I liked the shorter hair better along with the sword and jacket. The Saiyan armor doesn't suit him I don't think.

So were there any changes you had issue with or actually liked? I'm currently drawing a blank for changes I liked.

Most changes don't stick around that long for me to hate it. I guess Bulma's Namek-era look was stupid, sort of.

I think Radditz's model of Saiyan armor looks terrible. I don't like a large amount of man-leg on the screen. So I don't like Krillin's look in the armor he wore on Namek.

However, I thought Bulma's Big Blue Fro was so cute. I thought it was one of her best hair styles. Right next to the long hair with short bangs. I hated her hair style that she wore on Namek. I also hated the terrible 80s flipped-up-do she had while Goku was in the hospital.

Vegeta's lether pants in GT. No thanks.
Bra's 11-year-old prostitute wardrobe... Just... no.

Changes I disliked-

GT Trunk's outfit, I'm really surprised people enjoy this look. I guess I just have an issue with those beige shorts and that neckerchief. I'm not sure if you could call this a "change" because this is the only outfit adult Trunks from the future timeline ever wore but in comparison to the other adult Trunks we've seen this outfit is really lame.

Goku's blue Gi- I don't hate it but I don't really think it looks good either. When did Goku decide he wanted to stop supporting Roshi and North Kai anyway?

Tenshinan's green toga- c'mon do I have to elaborate?

Yamcha's short hair and yellow sports jacket- Maybe the ugliest outfit in the series in my opinion.

Gohans bowel cut- Doesn't flatter your huge ears kid.

Changes I liked-

Kurririns change from a beetle looking creature to a more humanoid form.

Cells second form to his perfect form- I'm a sucker for sleek designs and that big lipped weirdo was everything but.

Long haired trunks- I just thought it looked cooler then that dorky bowel cut he originally had. I especially thought his long haired Super Saiyajin forms looked cool.

The only designs I have really hated were Bulma's fro (OH DEAR GOD, MAKE IT GO AWAY) and to Veggie's mustache.

Ouch, dude.

Vegeta's pink shirt has to be the best character design change ever.

I don't like GT Goten's design. It's about as bland as possible, and at Super Saiyan his hair looks nearly the same as Gohan and Vegeta's.

I always thought Bulma looked stupid in the white jacket in the beginning of DBZ. It makes her look like she has really wide shoulders. I also didn't care for a lot of the physical character designs for GT. Roshi, for instance, looks terrible.

One final note, I didn't really care for Krillin with hair. I always felt like it was Toriyama's way of giving up on the character's chances of every really contributing any more. I think Krillin was the longest pure-human holdout in the series. When he was done, it was all about the Saiyan characters.

I always really liked Yamcha's long hair, but it got cut during the Cell arc. His short hair from the special was pretty cool though, but I still prefer his dew from the Saiyajin arc.

Bulma:

- I never liked her first DBZ appearance. She looked so unfeminine then.
Except when she wore her robe.
- The 80's-haircut-with-pants Bulma was no win.
- I didn't like the Android Arc Bulma either. She looked good but she was too much "manly" in some kind of way. All her curves were gone.
- She looked awful in the end of Dragonball Z. And in GT too.

Goku:

- Any Goku in the blue suit. And worse if he has a tan.
- I'm not a big fan of the post-Freeza arc Gi either, as I didn't like the belt that much.

Gohan:

- His bowlcut wasn't nice. At all. But it looked OK when he was dressed in his Saiya-jin Armor. I liked him better when he wore that same suit at Trunks's arrival and had long hair. And the cool thing is that the sweater and pants still fit, even though he was taller.

Trunks:

- He is all about the long hair. Any instance with him having short hair is epic fail. The only time his short hair looks nice is when he is a Super Saiya-jin.
- His GT outfit was baaad.

Vegeta:

- For 2/3 of the series we know Vegeta because of his Saiya-jin Armor.
In the Buu Arc it's gone. Well, I guess that he couldn't wear any armor in the tournament. But still, I don't like his Gi that he wears. It's too boring.

Yamcha:

- I didn't like that he was the single fighter left without a shirt under his Gi.
I mean, he had it during his training in the Saiya-jin saga, but left it afterwards. Hey, Krillin kept it and fought fine (for a human) in it and it didn't seem to bother neither Goku nor Krillin (and later Gohan) to wear it.
But kudos to Yamcha for not changing his belt into something that was easier for Toriyama to draw!

Other:
Radditz's Saiya-jin armor wasn't changed, but compared to ALL the other people we see with similar armors, Radditz has the oldest-looking one.
His look like a century older than the other's. And it could have looked nicer.

I don't like....

-Yamcha's yellow suit
-GT Goten's hair
-GT Vegeta's hair/moostache combo
-Goku's bland beige suit from Movie 8, I didn't like the white tux either; I prefer black tuxedos. :3
-Kuririn in the pants-less armor
-GT Trunks with his ascot and khaki shorts >_O
-Can I just say I dislike 99% of everyone's clothes in GT and be done with that part?
-Whatever was going on with Bulma's hair at the end of Z. O_o
-Yamcha's Vegeta-impersonator hair in the Cell arc.
-The fake uniforms Kamesennin, Goku, and Kuririn donned to trick Launch into trying on lingerie. The three of them looked hilariously wrong. XD
-Goku's Sunday suit and hat that displeased him so and make Yamcha, Kuririn, and Puar laugh though.
-Gohan's Kai outfit

I think that's about it; I probably have more though.

Out of the ones I really liked:

-Krillin in pretty much any outfit, he just stands out due to his design of no nose and no hair, obviously.
-Goku's final gi in Z/GT ED4. It just seems "final" to me.
-Goku wearing Shu's outfit during the filler between the Baba and 22nd Tournament arcs. I liked the sense of "new beginnings" the arc gave off since Goku was to travel the world without the Candy Cloud, and a new oufit suited the situation.

Changes I did like:

-Bad Man. You can never go wrong with Bad Man and it is a shame he never got to fight Freeza while wearing those clothes.
-Bulma's second hairstyle, where she's got it a bit pulled off on one side. It's shamelessly 80's, but I like it. X3
-Goku's pre-Kami's-training gi. While I do like the weighted undershirt, those boots are a pain in a half to draw; I prefer the Kame shoes.
-End-of-Dbz Bura's outfit. It's so cute.
-23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai Chi-Chi. I wish she'd kept the ponytail for a while after it instead of going straight to the bun.
-Post Boy Piccolo. X3
-Vegeta's leather jacket when he goes with Bulma to visit Goku before the end of the series. Looks nice on him. :3

Oh, and the insert page from Volume 15, where Goku's got that stylized kame gi. Too bad he never wears it in the series.

Most of the characters look from GT, although some were ok like Pan's. Some were just horrible like Trunk's

Hm. Guess people prefer Trunks with long hair.
I guess I just loved his intro so much I thought he should keep looking like that.

Personaly I think tha tlook is awesome. Maybe it's just me.

I actually got a bowlcut, and dyed my hair blonde, because of ol' TB. Course, I got laughed out of my fucking school the next day, but whatever. I was used it by that point.
