Dragon Ball Dreams
Seeing as how we all post on a forum dedicated solely to Dragon Ball, it's safe to assume that we're all (at least) borderline obsessed. And as it is with all obsessions, they tend to invade our dreams. I know I'm not the only one who has had a Dragon Ball related dream. So let's hear 'em. Post your dreams here.
Lately, I've been really bent on collecting all of the Season and Steelbook DVDs. My most recent dream was only slightly Dragon Ball related. In the dream, I reached into my pocket and pulled out the Broly Steelbook Triple Feature. I was surprised and excited that I had another DVD to add to my shelf. I didn't remember buying it of course, I just had it... But none of that mattered, I was just glad to have the DVD. Nothing else of note happened other than the DVD case was thicker than the others, which I know isn't true. I'm not sure why I compared them after comparing them in the store IRL.
About a week ago, though, is when I had the most awesome Dragon Ball dream. Check this out.
I. Went. Super. Saiyan. 3.
No lie. I transformed into a Super Saiyan 3, just for the lulz. I was in a room with some friends, transformed, then beat the shit out of a little baby doll. While transforming, I could feel my hair growing and eyebrows disappearing. I didn't feel much different other than that though. I would imagine it would take quite a bit out of me had I attempted in the real world. But... I guess I was super strong as evidenced by me ripping the baby doll in half (which I wouldn't be able to do in my current state, I guess). I could also glide, not float or fly, glide.
But that's not the end of it. That was a repeating dream. I went Super Saiyan 3 the next day. But what I did then was even worse... Just played video games... as a Super Saiyan 3... Didn't help me at all either.
Next time I go Super Saiyan 3, I'm going to go try to find a villain.

O...K...
I haven't had that many Dragon Ball dreams (not that I can remember anyway). I think I had a dream where I bought a DB manga volume that I had been wanting to buy for ages but could never get the time and money to go into town and order it at a bookstore.

Yeah I remember 2 DBZ dreams from when I was a kid (yes I can remember childhood dreams :p )
In one I was looking for the dragonballs with Krillin, although I had trouble flying.
And in the second one I went SSJ in our backyard and saw Vegeta as a SSJ 3 for some reason.

My most recent dream was... kinda a mixture between Dragon Ball, and an "Underground Laboratory" setting fighting a mutated monster against time to get the heck out of the place...
It was like: "Dragon Ball + Resident Evil 2 + Watched too much Elfen Lied lately"
If you are wandering, the monster was close to Bio-Broli minus the bananas on his head, and it walks on four.

Actually, last night I had a dream that I noticed that on one of my VIZ tankoubon volumes there was a promo for Dragonball movie 1, which I knew was strange considering the film never came out over here through FUNi, and probably wouldn't have been advertised by VIZ. I'm pretty sure that in my dream I decided I'd make a thread here about it, and ask if anyone else's volumes had this promo, but I guess this post will have to suffice.
Really, I don't have Dragonball related dreams all too often, and this is the only one I can remember ever having, so it's kind of funny that this thread popped up when it did.

I have them pretty much constantly. Either there's just a character there or it's a setting I know relates to Dragonball, or I'm running around as/with either cannon chars or fanchars I know from the Dragonball mythos. I dream most nights and there's at least some Dragonball related element in the background in most of my dreams.
Had one just last night actually where there were factions of warriors separated into clans- the one I specifically remember was early Z-era warriors in semi-Asian soldier garb. There was Son Goku, Pic, Ranchi, Yamcha, Krillian and someone else I can't remember specifically. Kame Sennin was an old sage and the most interesting part was that they were all servants of the Deamon Princess Chichi, all done up like classic old-school Japanese royalty in an ornate palace. I remember a battle where the senshi weren't all that concerned and they were calling back and forth to each other before retreating back to the palace and sitting with the Princess and the citizens of the house going over what had just happened. I think the other people they were fighting were a separate group of Dragonball peoples- I think there was one that was Crane people, one that was Sayiajin and so on but I didn't actually see any of them.

The only DB dreams I've had that I can remember were all about the action figures
. Yeah. I love collecting DB action figures, especially import ones, and a few months back when I was obsessively buying lots of Super Battle Collection figures I would have these random dreams of finding rare figures at a local store or discovering some new line of figures that I'd never seen before. Sad, I know, but I get excited about shit like that because DBZ merch is so hard to come across in stores these days!

I think I only ever had one, but what I remember of it has absolutely no context. The Z senshi were at Kami's palace, planning for whatever bad was going on at the time. But Goku was his young self, and young Chichi showed up on Kinto'un as well, so I can only assume that it was some alternate universe pre-Z.
Interesting, wish I could remember the rest.

Well... I think this one time I was Gotenks. That's about all I can remember. I had trouble flying... it's one of those things where somewhere in my mind I'm still tied to reality and can never do the things most impossible because I want it the most. Like, I could fly almost as if I was swimming - but not truly glide in the sky.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
I have the same exact problem with my dreams. I've never had a crazy super unrealistic dream before.bkev wrote:It's one of those things where somewhere in my mind I'm still tied to reality and can never do the things most impossible because I want it the most.
But last night, thanks to me reading this thread apparently, I had a somewhat Dragonball related dream. I met Mike and Meri in thier new home. They had a bunch of Dragonball stuff that I have never seen before, (because most of it didn't exist) including what Mike called, "Super Secret Awsome Manga Collection" The first issue was just a solid blue book with the number 1 on it. It was all in boxes since it looked like they havn't unpacked anything yet. When I left shortly after, I realized that I lived less than a mile from them. Weird. So I bumped into them again on my way home (don't know how they got in front of me, but it's a dream)and they where being chased and annoyed by a little kid. All 3 of us hid in an abandoned apartment.......and I don't remember the rest.

I had a strange dream last night, but it was really just me defending my room from party goers, but if anyone popped in my door I'd go "Oooh, look at that, my DRAGON BALL collection, isn't it awesome?" And then these twin girls came in and tried throwing me out of my window which had a really really really deep fall, but I sprayed some of my deodorant in their faces and they started choking so I threw them out.
The next part of the dream was me helping a girl with a broken leg and bandages over her eyes. And there were some strange stairs that had like a 4 ft step, god knows why.
And then we were at a monastery, and I ran away, but she followed me, all healed up, the end...
I kept asking if people liked Dragon Ball too, like I needed something to talk about.
I had another strange dream a long while ago, I was running from some guards or something and came to a dead end, but then LOGIC kicked in, and I thought "Wait a minute, I'm a Dragon Ball fan!" then I flew away.
There was another one too where I found a Room of Spirit and Time and went in, then instantly came out a stronger, more athletic person.

I had a dream once where there was a Dragon Ball in my toilet.

I think I might've dreamt I was flying on kinto'un once, but the only major anime dream I've ever had I was Kenshin in the Akebeko and miss tai needed help ejected rowdy customers...yeah that was back when I was first getting into Rurouni Kenshin in 2000.
Outside of that, and the above mentioned kinto'un flight, I don't believe I've had much anime based dreams. The most vivid theme dreams I've ever had have either involved being in the ewok village (I had the kenner playset as a kid so I was somewhat obsessed), or GI Joes.
