All 3 games this fall, and it appears Atari has nothing to do with anything anymore.

*dances on Atari's grave* Nothing personal - you brought us the modern video game, but you killed our Dragonball games. Goodbye Atari, this was your last chance I'm sure.q
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Mr. Exaggeration is my nickname, especially when I'm in a bad mood. But basically:
-The insert tracks (Cha-La, even Makafushigi MIDIs replaced for no reason) were either not there or missing something (oh, like the vocals?)
-No Japanese language track on a good percentage of the games
-Missing characters
-Sparking! recycled music rather than the TV soundtrack
Et cetera. I would have bought a Sparking game by now if it had the Japanese music.

As I've said in the past, audio was recorded for the Wii game (and I'm pretty sure I remember a conversation about the PS3/360 one) that the English audio was recorded the same as it ever was. Do remember that Funimation owns the license in this area, and more than likely was able to get a better deal from Namco/Bandai.JulieYBM wrote:Hmm...

Don't get me wrong but, the Japanese music in the Sparking! games... well.. each song is like 1 minute long or less, it gets repetitive, annoying and boring really fast. I do like the Japanese musics, but they could at least make longer remixes.bkev wrote:Mr. Exaggeration is my nickname, especially when I'm in a bad mood. But basically:

I actually preferred the new music Spike provided for the game for stateside release over the dozen-or-so minute-long loops. They were very unique pop/rock/metal/electronic BGMs that I think worked.DNA wrote:Don't get me wrong but, the Japanese music in the Sparking! games... well.. each song is like 1 minute long or less, it gets repetitive, annoying and boring really fast. Hopefully, since this is the next generation, the discs will have enough capacity to fit all that content as well as full-length BGMs. Or maybe since Kai is out, it'll be Kai BGMs? Hmm.
In any case, the 360 has the option for playing music on top of in-game BGMs, so worst case scenario, we can always import the Japanese TV BGMs and play them when we fight.

I assume so, seeing as FUNimation still holds licensing rights for Dragon Ball -- so logically, they would continue to be the "liaison" for whomever is distributing the game -- so obviously they'd have all the voices and such.JulieYBM wrote:Hmm...

It would make the most sense.Thanos wrote:I assume so, seeing as FUNimation still holds licensing rights for Dragon Ball -- so logically, they would continue to be the "liaison" for whomever is distributing the game -- so obviously they'd have all the voices and such.JulieYBM wrote:Hmm...

Although, as much as I hold the FUNimation cast near and dear to my heart, I'd be very intrigued if BANDAI went about hiring another studio (maybe in LA?) to do the games. Which is, of course, pretty much impossible. But alas...

Not that this question needs anything more concrete to prove that the US voice cast is working on these games, but I thought I would share some.JulieYBM wrote:Hmm...

Kyle Hebert revealed in a recent post on his Twitter page:
Of course, it doesn't say which game, but that at least proves that they will be working on at least one of these. I don't see why they wouldn't be doing them all, though.Kyle Hebert wrote:Yay for full day sessions at Funimation. Tonight: another DBZ game. Cha-ching!

And the LOG games that they were responsible for (at least 2 and 3) were good imo...bkev wrote:*dances on Atari's grave* Nothing personal - you brought us the modern video game, but you killed our Dragonball games. But they didn't make them, Webfoot did. It's a shame, but I"m pretty sure that's just about all Atari had going for them.

Yeah. Of all the American-made games, as far as I can tell, Atari themselves only actually internally developed Collectible Card Game on the GBA, which was the first new game in the revival back in '02 (other than Legendary Super Warriors, which was from Banpresto in Japan).bkev wrote:But they didn't make them, Webfoot did. All three Legacy of Goku games (1, 2, Buu's Fury) were developed by Webfoot. Taiketsu was also Webfoot, as was Transformation.
Sagas was done by Avalanche.
I think that's it... missing any?

I'd be lying if I said I've ever followed DragonBall video games... well, at all, so from what I'm hearing, Atari being out of the picture means that we'll be getting a language selection option and even the original music for all of these games?
Well, that's just beautiful. I'm really looking forward to the Wii game, so that makes this even better.
