Personality traits Vegeta and Kakkarot have in common..
We've gone over how different they are...
While they're like apples and oranges - I see a little more similarities between Vegeta and Kakkarot (personality wise), than Vegeta has with Gohan, for instance..
One of the the obvious being that they're both "battle-junkies" as Bulma said in the Viz translation,, have an never-ending passion to train and get stronger/better (even though their reasonings behind these motives maybe completely different).
I'll stop here for now as it's late...

Stuff Goku and Vegeta have in common aside from the whole "love of battle".....?
That's actually kind of difficult if you limit it to non-fighting stuff. ^^;
-They both have HUGE appetites.
-They've both been proven to be sneaky and if the situation necessitates, manipulate it to their advantage---even if it means tricking one another.
-They both have a wife and two children. (Though that's not really a personality trait ^^; )
-They enjoy challenges.
-Neither of them have a job. (At least until the Son Family Daikon Farm was built). I can't imagine either of them at an office job or heaven forbid working in Customer Service. *Imagines Vegeta snapping at people, scaring them away while Goku unwittingly gives people incorrect advice and wrong directions*. O_O;;;;
-They both have their own code of battle.
-They're good at working together with one another fighting against the bad guys.
-Both would lay their lives on the line for one another.
And that's all I can come up with at the moment. ^^; I have a way bigger list of differences between them.

Got to disagree with you on this one. We only see this tsundere act in the movies with the occasional line ''Don't get the wrong impression Kakkarot...I'm doing this because I will be the one who shall defeat you''. In the manga and the anime series they usually hate/dislike when someone interferes with a fight even if it is another Saiya-jin.Chuquita wrote: -They're good at working together with one another fighting against the bad guys.

Tsundere Vegeta. X3
I was thinking of the "Adventures inside of Buu" eps and some of the later Buu-related battles, but I probably should've mentioned that. ^^;
Yeah, I guess when I think about the earlier arcs; well in the Freeza Arc Vegeta ditches Goku before the fight against the remaining Ginyus even starts....but he did help them out during the whole "Ginyu bodyswaps with Goku" part .....*thinks*.....the Cell arc was mostly one big debacle of nobody wanting to cooperate with one another (and I partly blame all that on Toriyama VS his editors), so I agree with you on that arc...
So..I guess sometimes they do and sometimes they don't? Depends on the situation....
It's hard thinking up similarities for these two. ^^;;;

I recall Vegeta laughing as Goku was getting burnt alive by those little acid blobs, And then asking Goku which way he felt the boys were... Then insisiting he went the other way so they didn't have to go together.Chuquita wrote:Son Wukong wrote:Got to disagree with you on this one. I guess they do work well as a team, but they do have some pretty comedic moments.
All in all, I do see what you mean. When it's really needed they do form a team, Although their friendship is a little rough on the edges.
Things they have in common... I would have to say a fear of making their wives angry... (Although both do a very good job at it...Especially Goku.) Also neither of them really have any fears or phobias of anything - Well with the exception of worms haha. They are never afraid to enter a battle or to just shoot off into space without thinking of the remifications. I guess in a way you could call it a care-free nature.
Another thing, they can both drive!
"Ok, use your instincts Kakarott. Right or Left? (Hmmm... I'd have to say... left.) Good. Then I'm going right!" (Vegeta to Goku as they try to find their way to free the others inside Buu - Episode: The Innards of Buu)

Don't forget Gokuu's fear of needles! I don't think Vegeta's shown to have a specific phobia, though. Let's make one up and say he's afraid of clowns (LOL, and that's why he uses "clown" to insult Gokuu in the dubsaiyanprincess wrote:Also neither of them really have any fears or phobias of anything
Would you want to deny him his license?Another thing, they can both drive!Not sure if Vegeta passed his driving test, But we see him driving in GT if that counts.
DMV clerk: Well, Mr. Vegeta, it seems that on your driver's test you ignored all red lights, used your middle finger more frequently than your turn signal, and ended the test early by hurtling the car off a bridge, nearly drowning the test administrator. I'm afraid you'll have to take the test again.
Vegeta: *Begins crackling with energy* What did you say?!
DMV clerk: Uh, I mean, you passed! Congratulations.

In The Innards Of Buu episode, he showed a clear phobia of worms and slimy things in general.sailorspazz wrote:Don't forget Gokuu's fear of needles! Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Actually, the anime does give him a rather random phobia in regard to "slimey worm-like things".sailorspazz wrote:Don't forget Gokuu's fear of needles! Just before Kaio-Shin shows up at the tournament, he's seen eating like a hog along with Kakkarot and Gohan.Smooth Criminal wrote:We never even see Vegeta eat until the end of the Buu saga.
Just something odd I thought I'd point out.
Some other things they share:
- Lack of patience. Both tend to "jump the gun" and make rash decisions at times..
- Both have unshakable determination to achieve their goals.
- Very hard working.
Just Saiyan...

Except Goku usually doesn't know better. Vegeta is just an asshole.Rocketman wrote:"Yeah, I could kill him now...but I'd rather leave it for a seven and eight year old to do!"Victator Supreme wrote:Except not really.Rocketman wrote:Anyway, one is a selfish twisted little asshole with the deaths of millions on his hands. Who had shown incredible power, and he was teaching them a technique to make them more powerful than he was.Rocketman wrote:"Yeah, I could kill him now...but I'd rather leave it for a seven and eight year old to do!"Victator Supreme wrote:Except not really.Rocketman wrote:Anyway, one is a selfish twisted little asshole with the deaths of millions on his hands. He was attempting to leave something behind when he returned to other world. Context matters.
Teach a man to fish and all that. Its not his fault they wewre shitty fishermen.
Are you just going to pretend that he didn't tell Piccolo that he was leaving the rest of the Fusion training to him back when he first decided to train Goten and Trunks?Rocketman wrote:They hadn't even practiced it yet. They hadn't done it successfully at all, and they were at best only as strong as Vegeta was way back when he fought 19.Victator Supreme wrote:Who had shown incredible power, and he was teaching them a technique to make them more powerful than he was.
You have a bad habit of leaving out important details to make your arguments look better. Like claiming that Gohan reverted back to a crybaby when Cell came back even though he was about to fight Cell until your beloved Vegeta jumped in and Gohan decided to save him and thus got his arm fucked up and lost more than half of his energy. That's when he started crying about things getting hopeless - when they really were.
