Anime Leader and Major Amusement Game Operator Introduce Game Featuring Dragon Ball Z Figures

Flower Mound, Texas (July 15, 2009) – FUNimation Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corporation, Toei Animation, Ltd., and Namco Cybertainment Inc., one of the largest amusement game operators in the U.S. and Caribbean, are bringing the Z-fighters to more than 780 amusement centers around the country.

Already available, these centers house a new crane game containing figures of Goku, his friends and foes.

The Dragon Ball Z figure crane game will offer an entirely new experience for those who are familiar with the old crane concept. Instead of directing a crane claw to a random and, hopefully, substantial grip on a desired prize, crane players are able to utilize their skills to line up the claw fingers with one or more of the eight holes in the custom figure packaging for a precise hook on their favorite Dragon Ball Z figures. These collector edition figure prizes are designed and manufactured by Banpresto Co., Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan and cannot be found in retail stores.

Created by Akira Toriyama and produced by Toei Animation, the anime series "Dragon Ball Z" has taken millions of fans around the globe in search of adventure and the chance to put Goku's skills to the test. A valiant warrior, he has saved the Earth as he faced powerful villains. Now, Dragon Ball Z fans can then test their own agility and hand-eye coordination in playing the crane game.

Fans can visit this online store locator to find the nearest game at an amusement center near them.

I'm not that into collecting figures, but this is certainly interesting. At least the figures look nice....

Ahh, those figures look really nice. But is there really a market for a crane game feature detailed figures?

And why does Buu have black pants? :?

These figures are really old news. They still look as good as ever though.

*Checks her zipcode on blipstar*.

The local movie theater and Neshaminy Mall?!

Well, I'm not really at either of those places that often, but....if I happen to get up to that mall this summer I'll check it out.

I'm really not good at those crane games; I'd rather they just sell these in stores so I could just buy it that way if I wanted it. :(

Anyone know how big these figures are?

They look metallic black, by the looks of that image.
And it looks awesome. I want it.

The next closest one is a Bowling Alley, and it'd be awkward to just walk in and hop on a crane game and leave, so I'm guessing this mall is my best bet.

Just got some money, too. :D

Also, I find it odd that four of the figures use the exact same body mold with a semi-tweaked head mold.

Man these figures look really nice. I don't collect but these would be neat to just stack on some shelves or something.

What the hell? FUNimation is *stationed* in Texas. I live in Texas.

The closest one is a race track/casino in Louisiana.

Psh, I put in my zipcode, and I must be so far away from any of them that I got a "Sorry, no relevant results found." So, apparently, there aren't any in the Northwest....probably would have to go down to California....

....That is, if I didn't already have some :P

That's bad, I really like that Gohan in Goku's gi turned Super Saiyan.....
Despite I'll probably never see one of this cranes, it's awfull that these figures can't get bought at shop......

more question: There are only these figures in cranes?? Or it's crane full of worthless fluffy or other stuff and there is 2, maybe 3 figures you can get if you'll have luck that you never had?

Weak! I live just outside of Houston, and the nearest one is Delta Downs, 85 miles away. Would love to see one of these and play.

Where can these be found online, and how much do they usually cost?
