Dragon Ball Kai in Mexico!!

Post by MCDaveG » Sat Aug 15, 2009 12:31 pm

I didn't found some official statement yet, but on youtube, you can see official opening and ending theme to the Latin dub of DB Kai. Including some footage from Dragon Soul performed live.

I don't know, performance is pretty weird and little hilarious and
singer looks like Chatku :D

If this is real, and there's going to be a dub (and with the original voices) I swear to God I'm going to explode of happiness. A high quality version of the Spanish dub would be awesome

You know, I'm fluent in spanish, so I think I can actually understand what he's saying. =D

Okay, first, I think this guy is an okay singer. He's not terrible, but he's not very good either, based on these videos here.

Second, as a fluent Spanish speaker, the few actual lines of Dragon Soul that I could hear him sing... were pretty dead on. It looks like they literally just translated it, but I'll need to be able to hear it more clearly to be sure.

And third, why in Spanish? Not that I mind, but come on, I want Yeah! Break! Care! Break! in english! Ah, that's fine.

EDIT: Oh! I didn't realize that the videos here (I saw the one on Kanzentai) had subtitles! =D I'll go ahead and translate those videos...

Well, to be fair, I did say "Karaoke videos of the TV sized themes have shown up on the 'companies' YouTube channel and on their recently opened (11 August 2009) MySpace page." and then I linked to both pages.

And here's the translation of Yeah! Break! Care! Break!

First, the lyrics of the Japanese version, courtesy of Kanzentai:

Yeah! Break! Care! Break! At full force
I'll fly towards the infinite sky!

Riding the Jet Airstream
I'll go anywhere suddenly!
The water on the other side's the best
Let's go tip top, all right?

The blue earth seems to awaken
This planet can't be replaced, since it can't surrender

Let fly with a Kamehameha
This a dangerous era!
Because I was born to protect the world

Yeah! Break! Care! Break! At full force
I'll do it. Full power
Because hope is my weapon
Trust in the future

And here's the translation of the spanish version, translated by me (VenomSymbiote)

Hasta el limite do todo me poder (To the limit with all of my power!)
En un vuelo al cielo infinito ire! (On a cloud, I'll fly to the infinite sky!)

La Fuerza intensa de mi corazon (The strong intensity of my heart)
No se detienie y siente la emocion (Is uninhibited and feels the emotion)
El ser valiente is de lo mejor (Being brave is really the best)
Lo tienes que intentar (You have to try it!)

Y a la tierra proteger (And protecting the earth)
de la obscuridad! (from the darkness)
Juntos pelando por ella hasta el fin (Fighting together for her until the end)
Si la podremos salvar! (We can save her!)

Intensamente con el Kamehameha (Intensify with the Kamehameha!)
Los peligros debo de vencer! (I have to get rid of all the dangers!)
Eh nacido para restorar! (I was born to restore!)
El orden de caos (the order destroyed by chaos!)*

Hasta el limite do todo me poder (To the limit with all of my power!)
El destino ya no tendra fin (The destiny will no longer have an end)
La esperanza nunca desaparecera (The hope will never disappear)
Y en el destino creere (In the destiny, believe!)

*The actual line here is "The order of Chaos", but if you put that up with the previous sentence, you get "I was born to restore the order of Chaos", which I don't think was what they meant.

What can I say? Listening to the song, I'm starting to like the Spanish version. Also, the lyrics seems to be dead on, at some points, and sometimes... not so much. I don't know, does it fit? I think it does. What do you guys think?

I think he's good too, but that music arrangement, especially for Dragon Soul is little weird to go along with singing..... I don't know if there were some idiot in studio, but there are two possible reasons, singer didn't make it to the tempo of instrumental, or guy who was mixing instrumental with sing didn't matched them well.
And I'm not talking about that weird chorals with echoes......
But that live version is okay

I think they didn't use the official karaoke version, they useed a track they made but because it's sort of low quality, it makes me wonder if it's official

The videos keep showing at the top about a future broadcast release of DB Kai in Latin America from what I can understand from the vague wording used.

And here are the lyrics to Dragon Soul!

First, here are the lyrics to the Japanese version, courtesy of Kanzentai.

And here are the lyrics to the Spanish version, translated by me (VenomSymbiote)

Vamos, Vamos, ven comigo (Let's go, Let's go, come with me!)
Vamos, Vamos, a un paraiso (Let's go, Let's go, to a paradise)
Genkidama que (The Genki Dama that)*1
con tu ayuda hara explosion (That with your help will make an explosion!)
Ya veras! (You'll see!)

Puedo sentir (I can feel)
Que la malda viene hasta aqui (That the evil is coming here)
No mostrare (I will not show)
Miedo alguno, Ya lo veras! (any fear, you'll all see!)

Entregare mi vida y te protegere (I give you my life, and and I will protect you)
Gracias a ti (Thanks to you)
Mi corazon se llena de poder (My heart fills with strength!)

Con mi esperitu de lucha (With my fighting spirit)
Vencere a todo enmigo (I will vanquish all enemies!)
Si son mas poderosos (If they are stronger)
Mas grande va ser la emotion (The emotion the will be even bigger!)

Vamos, Vamos, ven comigo (Let's go, Let's go, come with me!)
Vamos, Vamos, ahora te toca (Let's go, Let's go, now it's your turn)
Vuela con el viento (Fly with the wind)
Y libera todo tu ser (And free your entire self)

Vamos, Vamos, ven comigo (Let's go, Let's go, come with me!)
Vamos, Vamosm, hacia la manana (Let's go, Let's go, until morning)*2

Dentro tu alma veras (Inside your soul you'll see)
Lo que siempres habias sonado (what you've always been dreaming of)
Encontraras (You will find)
Tu alma de dragon (Your Dragon Soul)

*1 Or Spirit Bomb, if you will
*2 Because of the way the word "Hacia" is used in Spanish, this line can also be "Let's go, Let's go, even if it's morning." In fact, it can even be "Let's go, Let's go, Make the morning", but that makes no sense.

I really, really hate the instrumentation of this song. The vocals are better, but overall, I really like YBCB in Spanish better.

So, what do you guys think of the lyrics to these songs?

Weird thing is that it's not done by the same group that dubbed it originaly. So if it's real it might mean new voices, which might mean bad dub. But who knows

I don't like these versions. It hurts my ears.

I was very happy when a friend of me called me on thursday and said, that the Mexicans have made versions of the Kai songs according to www.dragonballfilm.es.
Okay, I clicked on the website and listend to the songs and... what the heck is wrong with that performer?! Can anybody please tell him that he is completely out of rhythm!! Especially after the second half of Dragon Soul. Man, that's really awful.
And what's with the uber-loud guitars?!

Even my friend - who is fluent in Spanish and actually likes most of the Latino versions - coudn't stand it.

Seems that I'm the only one that enjoys 'em. And even then, just YBCB. At the same tim, I can totally understand why one likes them.

Wow, what's with the movie footage in the live performance video?! Are the movies being Kai'd too?

I think they're just there to make the concert cooler. I doubt they are "Kaiing" anything but Z.

Good lord, you're not kidding. That was... uhh... terrible rhythm. Almost embarrassing, really. :?

Yes, I can most certainly see why.

Seems like you might want to update the home page though. I mean, after all, some one sang it in spanish, and there's been some rumblings around the internetz that there might be a Spanish dub for it coming soon. Honestly, I don't think there's going to be one, but still...

I wholeheartedly have to agree with both of you. It seems like he starts to drag at the end, like he's trying to keep up with the music, but just can't quite get it. Kind of like an amateur singing at karaoke night in a bar.
