This episode covered 28 pages - all of chapter 246, and almost all of chapter 247, ending one page before the end.
Quite a substantial amount of filler this time - Gohan and Kuririn have a minute-long mental sparring fight... thing that's fully animated with mental images fighting in the anime, but was only two panels of them focusing their ki in the manga.
Right before the commercial break, there's a quick filler scene where Vegeta, running away from Planet Freeza 79, snatches his scouter from the guy he left it with, saying he didn't need it anymore. This actually fills a plot hole, as in the manga, like the anime, he left it behind in the "doctor's office" saying he didn't need it, but he still has it when he arrives at Nameck in the next chapter.
Right after the commercial break, there's also a long (and rather funny) filler scene with Kame Sennin visiting Goku in the hospital.

WOW. They skipped Fake Namek. Good on them.
Bulma's hair exploding and the close-up on Vegeta's-irritated-twitchy-eyes both made me laugh.
May I say I was surprised they kept Vegeta's naked rump intact.
Also, the OP overture during the mental training part; I could totally visualize (audiolize?) the original type of music that was supposed to be there. Kai's choice of music in that scene felt out of place to me.
Other than that; good episode. I enjoy Goku's hospital stay (though I do miss his attempted-escape from the hospital that was cut out) so glad part of it was kept in.
Bulma still sounds a bit unenthusiastic in parts.
Freeza sounds good.
Will we get to hear Dende Suzumiya in the next episode? I hope so. :3

Dende doesn't appear until the end of chapter 251, and doesn't speak for quite a while, so no.Chuquita wrote: Will we get to hear Dende Suzumiya in the next episode? I hope so. :3
The next episode will cover up to around the end of chapter 250, I believe, which ends with Goku getting out of the hospital.
(or wait, did Z episode 46 end with Goku's ship taking off or something?)

After Dodoria's attack, which fries Cargo, Dende does yell ''Cargo, Cargo, Cargo!''. We could get to see/hear that.Adamant wrote:Dende doesn't appear until the end of chapter 251, and doesn't speak for quite a while, so no.Chuquita wrote: Will we get to hear Dende Suzumiya in the next episode? EDIT: wait, that episode is quite far away so forget what I said.

Heh, Ryūsei's Freeza is sounding just a little bit like his Mayuri, Tanaka's Kuririn sounds like her Luffy...
It's not that bad of a thing, just funny! Good to see the big-bad showing up, though. I think people have been waiting for this since the first episode of Kai aired.

Considering that it was in the Artificial Human arc before we really started getting new music and that it was the Boo arc by the time we saw a lot of new music in DBZ, I doubt we're gonna hear too much new stuff right now in Kai.Vino wrote:This episode music was really off at many scenes. I really hope they start composing some new ones for the Namek arc since I'm sick of hearing those themes.
Maybe a little new stuff introduced here and there throughout the arc, but nothing drastic right away.

I was just looking into Kanzentai Kai reviews and I noticed since the Freeza arc began the reviews are a lot smaller. All that thing about fillers, versions comparison, etc. aren't no where to be seen. Are you guys planning on Kanzentai to do this in the future or from now on the reviews are going to be smaller?
