Budokai 2 Japanese Theme Available on B3 as an Extra

Post by Kodoshin » Fri Nov 26, 2004 12:47 pm

Woah, did anyone else unlock the Baba's Crystal Ball Movie (I think that was the title, it's a system capsule anyway) 000 capsule yet? It has the Budokai 2 intro (unlocked in the Dragon Universe bonus section) only with the japanese lyrics that were removed from the original North American release.

To get it you have to first buy all the Ultimate's in the shop (aside from Tenshinhans, I think it showed up before I got his actually)

Very nice bonus.

*nods*

Both the vocal and instrumental openings can be bought. They're awesome, and all, but it would have been nice to have gotten this game's vocal opening, as well.

Not that I don't already have it, myself, or anything... still would have been nice :P.

In the European version, we have the vocal opening.
The résistance dies but never gives up.

And if Sony weren't such asses, we'd have japanese voices as well.

Its actually Atari's doing. They have the rights for all things DB videogame related in the US. They probably made the decision to leave it out. Either that, or it was Dimps.

I don't think it was Dimps', they expressed an interest in making the game with both, but aparently weren't able to because of "liscensing issues". Personally, I think it was Atari trying to discourage the Japanese gamers from importing Budokai 3 early, since theirs always comes out late.

After what I've heard, Sony told Atari they didn't want japanese voices in American or European games.

Of course, the possibility of this not being true is always there.

Personally after playing through Budokai 1 many a time and seeing the weird as hell subtitles I`m very glad they gave number 2 and 3 dubbed voices.Plus my glasses cracked on the fifteenth time I used the Kamehameha with Goku, such a high pitched voice.

You jerk!

But welcome to the boards regardless.

I'll trade you Budokai 1's if you have the Gamecube one, I dig them voices.

Nah PS2 version, still as voices go I just prefer the english voices, sides the guys that did the subtitles for the game could not have been taking it seriously (such as the ones in my sig which are in-game).
