Revenge of King Piccolo (Tenka-ichi Dai-bouken) Help

Post by VegettoEX » Sat Oct 24, 2009 10:50 am

Heya:

This thread's sole purpose is to help out with the game. This is not a thread for discussing the game in general (we've got one for that over here); any posts of this sort will simply be deleted.

Please feel free to ask (very specific) questions, share (very specific) links to articles and guides you have found helpful, gameplay mechanics, unlocks, etc.

(all this information relates to Tenkaichi Daibouken, and may not be (though probably is) accurate for Revenge of King Piccolo)

Unlockable characters in VS Mode:

Murasaki - Collect all treasure in stage 2
Blue - Collect all treasure in stage 3
Tao Baibai - Collect all treasure in stage 4
Mummy Boy - Collect all treasure in stage 6
Akkuman - Collect all treasure in stage 6
Son Gohan - Collect all treasure in stage 6
Tambourine - Beat the game
Drum - Collect all the treasure, then get S rank on 10 stages
Great Demon King Piccolo (old) - Collect all the treasure, then get S rank on 15 stages
Great Demon King Piccolo (young) - Collect all the treasure, then get S rank on 20 stages
Arale - Collect all the treasure, then get S rank on all stages

Shop items relating to stages and characters are unlocked as you pass specific points in the story mode, with the exception of character models of Kuririn, Yamucha, Jackie Chun, Tenshinhan, and Chaozu, which are unlocked by beating VS Mode with them. Voice data for VS mode characters are unlocked by beating VS Mode with them. A new health upgrade is unlocked for each stage you beat.

Just keep on rolling/jumping across the stage when he attacks, when he does a Dodonpa ROLL away asap, make sure you jump over his rush charges (or whatever) and when the Lock-On Symbol briefly appears for a second or two press the "Z Button" (if you're using Wiimote), the first round that he's dizzy just do a regular combo without punching him into the air, then the second round he's dizzy do a Kamehameha or the Trigger Attack 3 which is where you punch him in the air, keep on repeating and eventually you should win.

Right, I just defeated Taopaipai. I'm missing a few 3 treasures in level 2 and other 3 in level 4. Anyone has any idea where all the treasures are on those levels?

No, but there's a video walkthrough of the game up on YouTube and on a private website which has all the treasures.

I'm raging pretty hard over here. Is there any way to dodge all of Piccolo's "human extenctionesque" blasts in the final battle? I manage to dodge most of them but one always hits me. I usually just roll away from them.

Are you talking about the raining thunderbolts from the sky?

Yeah, dodging isn't as effective as you think it should be.

Get to the outer-most area of the ring and just keep running big circles around the entire area. You're just fast enough to out-run them all if you just run the big circles like this; any smaller of a circumference run will get you zapped. Time it right and start swooping in right after the last one crashes down so you can just immediately start pummeling him.

The Piccolo fight is all based on pure luck. The time I beat Piccolo, he didn't even use that move ONCE.

Here's some tips:
- Do what Mike says when he does that attack
- Make sure you're health bar has all extensions
- Attack him with the Lock-On, making him dizzy everytime possible, and the first round of damage you deal don't do the combo where you go up into the air, do a regular combo the first time, then when he gets up and is still dizzy do a Kamehameha or an Air Combo, because he'll get un-dizzy afterwards.
- Just be really swift and agile.

Any tips on getting a S ranks on chapter 2-2 and 4-1? I can only get a A rank on 2-2 even though I had a high combo (60), near full health (94%) and a decent time (around 7 minutes).

Any tips for beating Grandpa Gohan?
Admin of the Dr. Slump Wiki.

I have a nostalgic soft spot for the Dragon Ball 10th anniversary movie. Ditto the Buu saga.
