You just activated my idea-circuit.Eddie wrote:What the heck?!
Anyway, they should do a DBZ sentai series. It would be the best cheesy, bad, somehow awesome in a weird sort of way, bizarre thing of the century.
I'm gonna hijack this thread as a notebook for a few paragraphs, 'K?
So Red-Ribbon officers leading cheap-costumed Demon spawn-ninja-Fulume-like things chase down a random teenager living in an old shrine with his grandfather... he gets rescued by a skanky western girl, who brings him back to Kamehouse...
Apparently this guy, let's call him "Goku", had some kind of mystical object, let's call it a "dragonball", and this mysterious "Red Ribbon Army" is after them for some mysterious purpose.
Once the power of the Dragonball is unlocked, the wielder can do cool stuff, but still needs some wacky martial-artsing. Goku can use his Dragonball to like... summon a cloud-like riding-thing?
The keeper of the Kamehouse, let's call him "Roshi", gives a Dragonball to his extent pupil Kuririn, and sends him and Goku (With Bulma for tech support) to see an old acquaintance who might have a DB, but the RRA gets there first, and somehow this drags in ChiChi (dude's daughter) and Yamcha (who was trying to burgularize said dude's stuff at the time).
I had an idea for Lunch and Tenshinhan, but I forgot about Kuririn at that point and now it doesn't look like both will fit.
Setting up T'en as a rival that quickly turns is an option, but I'd rather it wasn't a drawn out side-switch-based arc.
Lunch could, I suppose, have a personality switch when she uses her Dragonball transformation thing... assuming she's in.
Goku would clearly get a giant ape mech, and Yamcha's a wolf, and ChiChi's an Ox, and Kuririn's... umm... a turtle? And Lunch/Tenshinhan's clearly a crane.
The RRA is trying to tap into the power of the ShenLong via the Dragonballs; their scientist, Dr. Gero, has perfected a way using a mysterious ricecooker to create lotsa minions, so the RRA can focus on perfecting the manpower that it has. And we can get monsters out of it.
Red is secretly following the orders of Freeza, who was responsible for forcing the creato... create ShenLong, or something. I dunno.
Anyway, partly through the series, whoever our recurring Pilaf is winds up getting into the RRA's monster room and releasing Piccolo, who I kinda doubt will survive and change sides. Boo.
Freeza starts supplying baddies directly after that point, and that's when Vegeta goes rogue, and winds up with a Dragonball... I gues the RRA's DB has been used to power the monsters?
But with Piccolo gone, Gero's monster method stops working, so he makes some robots, and uses the DB to turn himself into #20, and winds up with a Cell-based Mech (or Dr. Uiro, but... Eh.).
Once Gero goes down, the heroes get to use ShenLong, and Freeza is unhappy and ... Umm... winds up with like, Porunga or the Black-star Dragon as his super mech of doom. And... Umm... Gohan wins.

65 million years ago the evil warlock Freeza destroyed all of the Saiyans. In order to secure the fate of the race, 5 warriors were sealed away to defeat Freeza should he ever return, Kakarot, Vegeta, Radditz, Nappa, Tullece, and Table. The great Kame sennin releases the warriors that he has looked after when Freeza takes up base on the planet Vegeta's moon.
Freeza's minion Zarbon uses his machine to sculpt and bring to life his monsters. His other minion, Dodoria, is a great warrior in his own right.
When called to action the Saiyarangers, use their Saiyabucklers to transform, and when in a real pinch, they call on their ape mechs, and when things get really out of hand, they combine them to create Daizyujin.
After a few episodes, the secret warrior Broly is awakened and becomes the Green Saiyaranger, with his mech SaiyaCaesar. At first he blames Kakarot for the death of his father Paragas, but soon realizes that it wasn't his fault.
In the end, they all team up to defeat Freeza, Kakarot and his mech transform into Super-Saiyarangers and finish Freeza.
