Kinokuniya Bookstore and Dbz Doujinshi

Does anyone know if Kinokuniya (sp?) has ever sold or does sell dragonball doujinshi?
I've been to the one in NY before and seen that they do sell Kirby/Zelda/Pokemon doujinshi (nothing that I'm interested in so I never bought any of it ^_^;; ) so I was wondering if its possible that they also sell dbz titles.

They sell tons of manga and even the Japanese DVD sets, but no doujinshi. If you want doujin manga I suggest simply buying off the internet.

Ebay is a great place for Doujinshi, well Yaoi Doujinshi.

Doujinshi are, by the very nature of the word, published by the authors themselves or by small groups. They wouldn't have the money or the clout to get into an overseas bookstore, methinks.

Back when I was into pokemon (5 or 6 years ago) I was able to buy doujinshi of it at a comic book store at King of Prussia Mall.
Maybe some people buy doujinshi off the internet, then sell it back to a store?

I would love to buy dragonball doujinshi online, but sadly I'm not old enough for a credit card ^_^;;

o_O Doujinshi in Kinokuniya? Are you sure? There are official Zelda and Pokemon manga, I know for sure, and easily for Kirby as well... Unless they were the thin, magazine sized books, those weren't doujinshi. I've never seen anything of the sort at the one in San Francisco.

I've seen doujinshi at Otakon but definately not at an actuall book store.

See, it all really depends on what kind of doujinshi you're looking for. In Kinokuniya, I have bought "gag strip doujinshi", or a book with a collection of a bunch of little funny side stories by various different authors. Granted though, I don't see these a whole, whole lot, and the two I did buy were for Evangelion. Haven't seen any for Dragon Ball, unfortunately (although I'm sure they exist SOMEWHERE!)

If you're anything like me...and want the romantic doujinshi because you're a ridiculous sap..as others have, e-bay is the way to go. Although, it is harder to find doujinshi for Dragon Ball, since the series is over, and the circle who did it have most likely long since moved on.

Another recommendation is http://www.rinkya.com/faq_url.php. You can use Rinkya to navigate through YahooJapan!'s auctions...since Japanese sellers are more likely to have the doujinshi. Aw man...they have some really nice Dragon Ball stuff....Must...not...look...ugh...too late! I have such a weakness for doujinshi that both my parents and my boyfriend bought me some for Christmas. (Not DB, but One Piece...which, since it's going still on...is waaaay too easy to find stuff for.)

Does anyone here HAVE any Dragon Ball doujinshi? Care to share with some scan links?

I'll have to show you what little we have next time you're around. HEAD-CHA-LA is an amazing run, going for over 30 volumes (which is insane). The artwork is dead-on Toriyama-sensei. There's a few other good ones, too. Meri's got a nice one where Trunks inserts himself into earlier movies (mostly to save the day.. and... er... Goku). Hilarious.

Holy crap, VegettoEX. That's the best doujinshi art I have ever seen. I love seeing doujinshi artists get really good at imitating the original style, though I know some prefer seeing people make their own styles. *shrug* But for doujinshi's sake, I think the better you can imitate it .. the better the doujinshi. Ah, I ramble. I'll have to look out for that series at anime cons from now on. What circle is it by or perhaps could you show me what the covers look like? ^^
