Top 5 Most Romantic Moments in Dragonball, That Never Actually Happened

Happy Valentine Day everyone! To celebrate this glorious bastardize holiday, I wrote up a list and hold that lock! I’m looking at you Kaboom! I actually have a question for the members at the end of this list. Although by doing this, it may encourage others to come up with their own pointless DB lists, thus spamming the forum. Just remember everyone, that I’m special here and you’re not.

Now I've compiled this list based on three things: What could’ve happened, what might have happened, and what a majority of fans believed (or still do) happened throughout out the entire series. But these "romantic" moments never actually occurred. That includes both the manga, anime, and yes fillers too.

5. Gohan and Videl: The Wedding
Image
What we assumed: O…M….G! Gohan and Videl got married! Who didn’t see that coming from galaxies away when her character was first introduced, huh? Well I’m sure the wedding episode will be the best thing for GohanxVidel fans, ever! There’s going to be wackyness, charm, cake, Videl in wedding dress and *Squeel* we get to see Gohan kiss a girl!

Image
What actually Happened: Wait, we get nothing? Not even a filler episode? All we get is a lousy photograph? Toei you jerks! You gave us a filler of Krillin marrying some twit and you don’t even take the opportunity to give us a lousy filler of something we actually wanted to see? I think I speak for all GohanxVidel fans out there when I say, "Toei, you can go suck it!"

4. Goku and Chichi: An Adventure in Love
Image
What we assumed: When Goku first agreed to marry Chichi, he thought it was a food. Many years later when he met her again at the World’s Martial Art’s tournament, he admitted that he didn’t know what marriage was at the time but he still kept to his promise and married Chichi anyways. Later he learned to really love her by showing the love and affection any man could.

Image
What actually happened: Goku thought marriage was a food. I repeat Son Goku, who was raised in the wild, didn’t even know girls didn’t have balls, has the mind of child, thought MARRIAGE was a FOOD! Where do Goku and Chichi fans get the impression that Goku even capable of showing any amount of affection let alone love? No matter how many years he was married, which in Goku's case wasn’t very long time. You know, with the dying, disappearing for many years, and leaving forever on top of a Dragon right before saying goodbye to everyone else, but his wife. Oh, I could just feel the love there. Sure the anime did show us some moments of actually romance between Goku and Chichi but somehow fans of the pairing has taken those small little spoonfuls of sugary moments and gave themselves full blown diabetes.

3. Bardock and Celipa : Two Warriors In Love
Image
What we assumed: For many years fans suspected that Celipa was the mother of Goku. This means she must have had some sort of relationship with Bardock despite showing interests in Toma during the Bardock special. Whether that relationship was romantic is up in the air.

Image
What actually happened:
Toma: Bardock, dude! That chick you knocked up, that totally wasn’t Celipa because there wasn’t even slightest hint that you had a thing for her, she had your kid man!
Bardock: I have a kid?! A-Are you sure it’s mine?
Toma: Dude he looks just like you. Literally, he looks exactly like you!
Bardock: Crap.
Toma: What are you going to do now? Raise him?
Bardock: No, I’ll send him to Earth.
Toma: Really? He’s just a baby there’s no way he could survive on his own.
Bardock: I’m sure somebody will pick him up.

2. Pan and Trunks: Love in the Stars
Image
What we assumed: Pan and Trunks spent so much time together on their adventures in space, that afterwords gave the fans an excuse to pair the two together. Despite the huge age difference.

Image
What actually happened: Nothing! That’s what happened. Even the slightest thought of Trunks pairing up with Pan, before, after, and/or during GT is the most ludicrous idea imaginable. Fans of this pairing are basically calling Trunks a pedophile. I’ll take Vegeta knocking at Goku's backdoor before I ever consider Pan and Trunks as an item. Ew, dude seriously PanxTrunks? What is wrong with you?

1. Bulma and Vegeta: Those Infamous Three Years
Image
What we assumed: During the three year gap, before the androids where to arrive, Vegeta and Bulma were to conceive Trunks. A passionate relationship developed between the cold hearted prince and the blue haired scientist. In what could be described as a Shakespeare romance mixed with hard core sex. Every fangirl dampen their pants at the slightest thought of what could have happened in corridors of the Capsule Corporation.

Image
What actually happened: Thousands upon thousands of BulmaxVegeta fanfiction! No fandom could compare to the massive amount of VegetaxBulma fans out there. Not. One. I am convinced of that. You know, how I know? Because I practically read them all! Yes I am guilty for being obsessed with this couple even though the only thing that happened was that they had sex and Bulma plopped out a kid. That’s it. There is no filler, no panel, no screen shot in existence to let us know slightest bit of what happened between the two and most importantly what happened to Yamcha! Did Bulma break up with him? Did Yamcha Break up her? Did he just walk in on Vegeta and Bulma? Did Vegeta make the first move? And what’s their favorite position? Could it be the barrel roll? The Flying Monkey? The Twin Dragon?

So many unanswered questions! And the only ones who could fill in that niche are the fanfiction writers and fangirls all over the world. Every week a new one is written and submitted and I just have to read it! And that’s a lot of fanfiction porn to read over a course of a year! My God I’m ADDICTED! I thank and curse Toriyama for leaving that flood gate open.

---

And so ends my first and probably last list. Personally I love to read Now to the question for the fans: What was your favorite romantic Dragonball moments that actually happened? Could be from the show, filler, manga, whatever.

Now it maybe hard to believe that there is any romantic scenes in anime the involves powerful men and aliens punching each other in the face, but Toriyama and Toei did give us quite a few to choose from. Hell, I think of plenty of moments right off top my head. So once again, Happy Valentine’s day! I’m going go read some VxB Fanfiction to celebrate.

Wow. Awesome topic, Scarz.

The only thing I think worth discussion is the VegetaxBuruma deal, while the other four are either without needed detail or a tad trivial.

But you do raise a wonderful question for the fourteenth of February... just what the hell HAPPENED in the those three years?

I think it's kind of cute that evil Lunch had a crush on Ten. There's some prime filler stuff in the King Pic arc where she's blushing and telling him "you'd better come back alive or I'll kill ya." That whole filler segment in Z where she chases him down and steals some money for him is adorable.

She's this big tough independent badass, but for whatever reason has a thing for 'ol three eyes. And of course, Tenshinhan is either completely oblivious (hopefully), or ignoring her advances because he's partial to the ding dong. Who knows? I don't.

Obviously Tenshinhan's only true love is Chaozu.

:!: How could we forget these two!? They should've been on the roster in the first place. I know I'm a LunchxTen fan.

Anyone who mentions "TenxChaozu" will get a Taiyoken in the face.

WOW, I'm glad the message board warned me of a new post before posting.

I prefer to think of that as a father-son or big brother-little brother relationship.

I had always seen it as a brotherly relationship. Although, that's never explained...is it? Their relations, I mean.

There are little things that happen that make it seem like Ten is more of a guardian. When Chiaotzu takes his hat off to show his little hair, Ten puts it back on and tells him he'll catch a cold or something. And when they're reunited after something or another, Tenshinhan picks Chiaotzu up like a little kid and hugs him. Absolutely nothing that implies some mutual knob slobbing.

Looked like a romance to me.

Even though Chaozu has a doll... er, I mean wife.

I kinda feel like writing some Ten/Choazu fanfiction now...
Ten paused as he passed Chaozu's room; The door was partly open.

Chaozu was standing in front of his closet mirror, apparently admiring himself. Ten didn't move. He knew what was coming and his heart was racing because of it. Indeed, the small man's clothes were discarded in quick fashion. Ten knew he should be leaving... but he could not bear to tear himself away from such a lovely sight.

Feelings both familiar and new flooded Ten as he gazed upon Chaozu's sculpted body. A body like that of a Greek god...

I'd like to add something meaningful, but I'm too busy laughing at this:

I'm going to play EVIL! Dayspring and suggest something:
Recycled character designs from / in Toriyama's other works? Totally cross-breeding, there.
I mean, S'no as Crono's mother is the easy one...
Maybe Yamcha ran off and got involved in one of the worlds featuring Yamcha pallet-swaps?

*Imagines Chaozu getting in a fight with Ran-Ran, thinking she cheated on him with T'en*
