What would happen if Cell got decapitated/sliced in half?!
A) The head/upper half would regenerate the body/lower half?
B) The body/lower half would regenerate the head/upper half?
C) Both sides regenerate their lost pieces and we end up with two Cells!!

This. This is almost what actually happened when his upper half got blasted away.

Ah, but that's the thing. It got BLASTED away, disintegrated, and therefor non-existent. Whereas, if there was still two halves of Cell, wouldn't there just end up being 2 Cells from the regeneration?

Oh, I hadn't taken that into account.
Since he retains most of his ki, maybe it'd be like Wolverine's deal in that he just needs to crawl over to his other half and 're-connect' it to his upper half.

Cell is supposed to always regenerate from a special "core" that's was meant to be in his head. This doesn't seem to fit with how he regenerated from just his lower body during the fight with Goku, but plenty of fans come up with theories. The important thing, I think, is that it would be the half with this core in it that would regenerate, so you probably wouldn't end up with Cell twins.

How about taking FUNimation's dub with the ability to regenerate as long as there is a single cell available in his body?

I'd almost just rather take the fact that it's a plothole over FUNi's say...
And that's sad.

Both halfs would fly to each other and merge again.

Both halves would regenerate, but be slightly deformed on the regenerated part. Then they would merge into one, like what Fat Buu did after Vegeta blew him up.

He'd just regenerate one part. Nuff said

The part with the cluster of original cells would regenerate.

This never made sense to me anyway.
Piccolo states that he cannot regenerate if his head is destroyed, and Cell gets his regeneration abilities from said Namekian. Goku destroys Cell's head, and he was forced to regenerate from his torso, something Piccolo could never do.
Perhaps I'm trying to put too much logic into the series.
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Simple solution, if a bit contrived: Cell has the ability to quickly move his regenerative "core" to different regions of his body from its usual spot in his head. Shifting it down into his lower abdomen or something was probably all he had time to do before Goku landed that Instant Kamehameha on him.

I agree with this and I never found it contrived because I always likened his ability to move his regernative core to different areas in his body to that of Elder Toguro in Yu Yu Hakusho. Although I believe Cell actually came first, so nevermind.

Simpler solution: the core was in the bottom half. When his body was destroyed, it simply started by regenerating the brain. Thus, it never moved at all, it just no longer had a starting point to regenerate from, as it was floating on its own in empty space after he self-destructed.

I've always went with the theory that there's a redundant, secondary "regenerative core" in the lower half of his body that activates only when its connection to the primary core is severed in some way (such was the case when Goku blew his upper body and head away with the Kamehameha). Once the secondary core has regenerated the primary one and the other damaged parts of the body, it would return to an inactive state. It'd fit both the situation regarding the point-blank Kamehameha and Cell later establishing that it was the core in his head that allowed him to regenerate, and would lend credence to the idea that Cell is a "perfect warrior".
