Post by SilverPlaqueVII » Sat Feb 20, 2010 10:32 pm

So, I was too lazy and bored from doing other things so I wanted to share my own Unreleased American dub BGMs:

Cell Kills Man (Perfect Cell Version) - Ep. 160 (CELL IS COMPLETE)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoPJw-VxuaM

The Birth of Mecha Freeza - Ep. 119 (THE MYSTERIOUS YOUTH)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiYyeX4M3Ik

Gohan Kills Cell - Ep. 191 (SAVE THE WORLD)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oW8sK_xrUss

Menu Music - Movie 9 (BOJACK UNBOUND)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Crs9su18p5Q

The first 3 are by Bruce Faulconer, the 4th is by Mark Menza.
Jelo Gutierrez Cantos (Dr. Fresh)
I'M GONNA BREAK YOU, LIKE A KIT-KAT BAR!! - TFS Goku. (have a Break, have a Kit Kat Freeza!)

Whoa Nice! I'm a Menza fan, so I loved that Bojack Unbound one.

Yeah it is awesome. I can't believe he composed a completely new track just for the DVD menu.

On a sort of related note, did you ever meet or work with Mark Menza?

I'm not sure combining two released pieces counts as "unreleased." :P

That's nice, but what the hell does that have to do with anything?

No, but Mike Smith was telling me that he visited Mark's studio one time.

Mark told Mike that Funimation had told him to not even listen to the Faulconer Productions music ^^

Sorry, that sentence was a bit convoluted! So if Menza sounds nothing like Faulconer Productions, that's a big reason why.

Whoa! Really? They wanted his score to sound nothing like Faulconer's. That's a good thing because I really like his music in GT and some of the movies.

That [what Funi told Mark] is really interesting. I actually disagree about his music, though. I never really cared for Menza's music. He definitely had some good tracks, but I always felt that the Faulconer score was better. Menza's GT score in particular had too much of a hip hop feel and really droned and repeated itself. The Super Saiyan theme he had going for a few of the DBZ movies (and parts of GT, as I recall) was a favorite, though.

I remember being really disappointed by Movie 6 because the Faulconer score wasn't used, especially since there were places where I felt that certain tracks would be absolutely perfect for it.

Scott, if you can divulge it (assuming you even know), why'd they only use the Faulconer Productions Music score in Movies 4, kind of 5, and 8? Any particular reason?

I think they just wanted to change the score for the movies to sort of give them a different feel.

I don't know. Scott, any ideas?

No sorry, all that is really past when I left. I don't think the Faulconer studio was even involved with those movies. The guy to ask would be Evan Jones (or Barry Watson, but I've never seen him online anywhere)

Awesome piece, Faulconer was at his best in the Cell saga IMO.

I'm working on making a Dragon Ball GT soundtrack from the menu music of the GT Singles. When I'm done, would anyone like me to post a link here? (mods, if I can't for whatever reason, please say so).

Yes and no. Yes, that's one of the tracks I ripped, but no, I didn't provide that particular version of it as was uploaded on YouTube as I haven't actually uploaded anything yet. I do have both versions of the recap music, Super 17's theme, some battle music, and lots of other stuff.

Oh sorry. When you do upload those tracks, can you post them here?
