Movies you would have liked to have seen in cinemas.
As you may know, all 17 Dragon Ball Movies were released in cinemas in Japan while the U.S only saw Movie 12 in cinemas so I was wondering what movies would you have liked to have seen in cinemas? I personally would've loved to have seen:
DBZ Movie 1 (Japanese or Ultimate Uncut Dub with Japanese Music)
DBZ Movie 2 (Same as above)
DBZ Movie 3 (Same as above)
DBZ Movie 4 (English dub)
DBZ Movie 5 (Same as above)
DBZ Movie 8 (Same as above)
DBZ Movie 13 (Any version)
DB Movie 4 (Dub)
DBZ Movie 1 (Japanese or Ultimate Uncut Dub with Japanese Music)
DBZ Movie 2 (Same as above)
DBZ Movie 3 (Same as above)
DBZ Movie 4 (English dub)
DBZ Movie 5 (Same as above)
DBZ Movie 8 (Same as above)
DBZ Movie 13 (Any version)
DB Movie 4 (Dub)

I would love to see them all in a double feature format and have it dubbed with Japanese Music, From Dragon Ball Movie 1 (except DB Movie 4, because it's already a feature length of 90 minutes) all the way to Dragon Ball Z Movie 13.

Movie 13 is the only one I'd go out of my way to see on the big screen. Best animation, story, use of characters, what's not to love?

How about having nothing to do with Dragon Ball and an angsty, non-communicative protagonist?Rory wrote:Movie 13 is the only one I'd go out of my way to see on the big screen. Best animation, story, use of characters, what's not to love?
Naw, I'm just messin'. 13's alright. Hardly the best though.
I'd go to the theater to see 12. I love the fights in that one. It's also bright, colorful, and silly. Not perfect though. They could have done a lot more with Gogeta.

Hell yeah the could have. A LOT more. They hyped such an awesome character of power and showed him on screen for like 5 minutes.Innagadadavida wrote:They could have done a lot more with Gogeta.

I dunno if go to cinema on anime movie from TV series is any great experience like in case of Lord Of The Rings or Star Wars is.
Actually I don't care, but I want to experience that feeling, when you are fan of Dragon Ball series in Japan and there you go to cinema on Dragon Ball movie with posters, merchandise and I don't know what else. I want to be there, when one of those Dragon Ball Z movies was screening for first time in 90's, but I don't think that it will be any awesome, to go to the cinema on Dragon Ball movie in the same fashion like I'm going on other movies.

I'd love to see Movies 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 15, 16 and 17 on the big screen, they're my favourite at least...
Re: Movies you would have liked to have seen in cinemas.
I would love to see Movies 5, 6 and 12 in the cinema!

I completely agree. I find that people often underrate Movie 13, and overrate Movie 12.Rory wrote:Movie 13 is the only one I'd go out of my way to see on the big screen. Best animation, story, use of characters, what's not to love?
Re: Movies you would have liked to have seen in cinemas.
All of them. I think it would be a really fun experience.

Either "Path to Power", or a Triple feature of movies 8, 10, and 11.

Re: Movies you would have liked to have seen in cinemas.
I would've liked to see all of the Dragon Ball films in the cinema. There's no reason to include just a few of them, and then not include the others. That'll be like screening half of the Harry Potter films, but not screening the rest--a lot of people would be disappointed and not understand why they'd do that.
Considering the Dragon Ball films are anime and most of them run for less than an hour (short, compared to "normal" films), of course I don't expect to see them any time soon, so the only ones I think would have the slightest chance of airing in a cinema in the future in the U.S. and Europe are DBZ Movie 8 (because it's the longest and it's got Broly, duh!), DBZ Movie 12(it's aired before in U.S. and could air again, plus I think it's generally the most popular in DB fandom) and DBZ Movie 13.

Not really. The Harry Potter films are all one-continuous story. The Dragon Ball films don't have any continuity between each other. They're all their own, individual, story.

Did see Movie 12... but it was FUNi's release.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
The first three DBZ movies, with the Ocean English dub.

Actually, putting the triple Broly feature in cinemas seems like a good idea. The movies are similar and together they are about the same running time as a regular movie.Big Momma wrote:Either "Path to Power", or a Triple feature of movies 8, 10, and 11.
And it would sell well because everyone loves Broly.
Re: Movies you would have liked to have seen in cinemas.
Actually Movie 6 was played along with Movie 12 in the US theatrical run.
