Will the full(291 ep) version of Z dub get Kai treatment?

Post by mystic trunks » Wed May 26, 2010 4:21 am

Now that we finally have an accurate dub of the show, it so happens that it is a shortened version of it. Wouldn't it make sense to release an accurate and full version of the show?

On the other hand, my goodness, how many releases would that make total? Like 5?

I honestly don't think FUNimation is going to bother redubbing Dragon Ball Z, when they're currently in the process of dubbing Kai.

There's been no official word on it, but it's most likely not going to happen.

I see no reason for them to do so. Besides, we're already getting Dragon Boxes, so that settles it for Z I think. They're focusing on making Kai accurate and admitting their faults with Z. Z is seen as the "older, outdated" show I guess, so they won't bother.

They probably don't see it as profitable to re-dub and an entire 291 episode series again. It's much more cost effective to make a new dub for a ~100 episode show.

If they want to release it they must add something new to the video other than the dub, seeing how they already release the "DBox", the "remastered", the "singles" and others versions, what next? "3-D" version? 4:3 "remastered" version?

Why on earth would you want them to redub 'full' the version.

All they've cut is filling and padding.
I.e shit you don't want to see.

What on earth would be the point?

FUNI has more up to date things to do than re-re-re-re-re dub a series that they've been dubbing since the mid 90s.
I wipe it off the tile, the light is brighter this time, everything is 3D blasphemy.
My eyes are red and gold, the hair is standing straight up, this is not the way I picture me.
I can't control my shakes, how the hell did I get here? Something about this, so very wrong.
I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this. Is it a dream or a memory?

I highly doubt, as much as I think it would be cool, it would be a colossal waste of time, effort, and money on their part.

Kai is the big new thing for Dragon Ball for them, and we're getting the accurate dub for that already.

If they were really going to do an accurate dub for Z, the Dragon Boxes would've been the ideal time. After the DBoxes and Kai, I don't people will be as willing to keep shelling out money for re-re-re-re-re-re-releases... even if it had a re-re-redub.

Kai's dub works for me, I don't have to have a redub of Z. I watch DB-Z-GT in Japanese 99% of the time anyway.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Yeah especially since they'll blow a ton of money on the voice cast and nobody would really buy it. How many people do you think would buy it? Dubbie fans wouldn't, and fans of the original just want their Japanese version, so there's the Dragon Box. They would sell considerably much fewer than any release they've ever had simply because not too many people are interested in that. People say it's a benefit for Kai, even though a lot of people still want nothing to do with the dub in any shape or form, but Kai is a "brand new" show.
